You should get ready to defend the Wrestling Thread against one of your brothers, brother!

''The wrestling thread is too old for Jerry''

He should've had to get at least another win before getting his title shot, BUT...

1. the HW division was VERY thin in those days

2. Randy Couture had been holding up the division with his "retirement." The top two contenders (Mir and Nogueira) were already booked for an interim title fight when Couture decided to come back, so instead of breaking up the Mir/Nog fight (which they knew would be a draw on its own), they double-dipped and had one of their fan favorite champions go against a guy they knew would draw big, saying the winners would fight each other.

As far as not holding the belt very long, as bad as it sounds, only one other fighter (Tim Sylvia) has can match Lesnar with two successful UFC heavyweight title defenses. All of the other champions have one successful defense or lost on their first defense. Cain Velasquez has the chance to match it against Junior Dos Santos in their rubber match.

Chris Jericho was a recent guest on The LAW - Live Audio Wrestling promoting his Fozzy show this Sunday night in Toronto at the Phoenix Concert Theatre. The full 30-minute interview is available at http://fightnetwork.com/news/41339:interview-chris-jericho-w-dan-lovranski-john-pollock/ and on iTunes.
Below are some highlights:

Fandango program:

"It’s actually a feather in my cap. Not to be a jerk, but he was working with Chris Jericho in his first match ever on the show at WrestleMania. If that doesn’t put you on a different level, then nothing will. I knew that he’d have to come back down to earth at some point, because the fans aren’t gonna believe in him working with other people, because there’s not a lot of Chris Jerichos out there, and I say that with all due respect. What I mean by that is a guy who’s been around for as long as I have, with the fanbase that I have, the reputation that I have. People know that it’s going to be good, and something special, no matter what it is. Even if it’s a guy they’ve never seen. I put a lot of input into what we did with him to build that. Everything that we did, I meticulously thought of. “What should we do to get this guy over?” Well, rule number one - I want to try and get this leg drop over. Rule number two - I want him to be a kick-ass heel when he’s getting his heat, because the gimmick is so ridiculous that if he doesn’t show that viciousness during the match, no one’s going to buy it. Little tricks like that that I’ve learned over the years that other people don’t know, and Fandango doesn’t know because he’s inexperienced. It was, like I said, a real feather in my cap. Fandango, the night after WrestleMania, was the most over performer in the company."

Thoughts on TNA product:

"TNA has to do something different. I think the worst move they’ve made was Hogan and Bischoff and Sting. Nothing against those guys, but we’ve seen it so many times. It’s the third go-around for those guys now in the last 15 years. There’s people out there, revolutionary people, that can take it in a different direction. They’ve gotta get some different minds and some different faces and start working from within. That’s just my opinion. I think that they’re happy doing what they’re doing. They never get any bigger, they never get any smaller. If that’s what you’re into, that’s fine, but for me, I always want to take things to the next level and take some chances. If you don’t, and you’re just doing the same thing over and over again, then it gets boring. Good luck to them. I hope they do survive."

They brought back possibly one of the greatest features to EVER appear in ANY WWE game for WWE 2K14. The ability to create CAWs and use actual superstar face models in the game instead of taking forever to morph them! So now I can finally create proper Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Tyler Black CAWs among other things. Hell, I can probably even make a Superman CAW and replace it with John Cena's face. :hehe:

I post on the forums at sherdog.com sometimes, and it really is pitiful how angry some of the people get over there about "fake/gay WWE bull****" out of nowhere. I'm an MMA fan, and love watching UFC events in particular (was so pumped when I got word from an old friend of mine that he made it to the UFC, and he just had his third fight in the organization last month).

I really think that some of the hardcore d-bags you find saying stuff like that are the ones that are so afraid that their precious sport won't be taken seriously if people compare it to/confuse it with fake pro wrestling, so they get so defensive about it. I've told people on those boards that I understand an adult not like pro wrestling, but if you didn't watch it as a kid, you probably had a terrible childhood, and that it is ok to admit you liked it growing up, instead of trying to be Mr. Tough Tapout Guy.

HAHAHAHAHA! You have to say no more. I lurk Sherdog for the lulz, and man are there a lot of idiots there. I do like their wrestling thread though. It makes for good reading sometimes. But man there are a ton of terrible people on that site with the worst logic ever. It shall be on display next Saturday when Jon Jones fights. Win or lose he manages to bring out the worst in some MMA fans. :hehe:

FINALLY!

I'm gonna make a fat Triple H and a mini Rock named 'The Pebble.' Juan Cena can become a reality!

Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Bleacher Report and 2K will be teaming tomorrow and revealing every match in WWE 2K14's "30 Years of WrestleMania" mode.

I thought that wasn't confirmed yet?

Leaked achievement list. I believe it's called "One of A Kind Superstar" and it reads "Create a Custom Superstar that uses a superstar head".

It also looks like "Slobberknocker Mode" could return with the "streak" achievements.

When Brock Lesnar became UFC Champion, that was the greatest middle finger ever given to the haters. :woot:

bragging that brock won makes wwe fans look just as bad. i had a grown ass man troll me because brock got more money on a match.

I'm glad that I get to watch both Avatar:Legend of Korra and WWE Smackdown on Fridays now without having to skip either of them because as an Avatar and Wrestling fan, I can't say that I'd skip that show for Smackdown if I had to lol.

Someone's gonna need to record Night of Champions for me this Sunday because this Sunday I'm working.

Speaking of working, can somebody in here tell me who in the bluest of blue hells is Depeche Mode?
