You Have My Permission To Lounge - Part 10

I am pretty pumped. The opening night screenings will probably be pretty wild.

Still skeptical. Critics love Marvel and because the cast is black it wouldn't surprise me if they're giving it incredible reviews because of what it represents, instead of what the film actually deserves. Like Wonder Woman being an OK film but it's all about powerful women leading the charge with a female director so guess what?

Also the CGI did not look great to me in those clips. The upside is that i'm a huge fan of this director, so i'm hoping the great reviews are simply down to it being a good film and a twist on the genre. But how can i trust them? If it's just another origin story with Marvel quips, not the best CGI, but a good cast..then i'll be really annoyed.

Apparently the action is not very good but the rest is.

Some of the CGI does look horrendous, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm not that hyped anymore, I lost some of the hype after the trailer and some clips.

I never had an ounce of hype for Black Panther. But I'll see it because it feels obligatory and at least it's getting good reviews.

Honestly, I feel no hype to see Black Panther. Its about a Thor 2 level, which I've still never seen.

I really hate how true this is. I hope it is as good as they say. I feel so terrible for saying this.

Black lightning is also a 100%. Let's be real, CW doesn't have a single show over 60%. If that.

His movie is probably the first good live action thing to be spawned from :ff:. Of course the villain will be the usual forgettable fluff, just like the soundtrack.

The character debuted in :ff: comics, that's why I said what I said.

Unless you're asking about the point mentioned above my post.

Are you not aware of the reaction Killmonger's been getting?

If anything, its looking like we're getting a TDK situation.
I think that's probably an exaggeration as I don't think another TDK could be made within the Marvel framework, BUT Killmonger has been getting a ton of praise and easily sounds like the most compelling Marvel villain to date.

Not just MBJ, the soundtrack is getting massive praise. Apparently it's unlike any MCU score. Hence my confusion.

I look at the international box office earnings for Justice League from time to time, and I can't help but wonder whether the studio will continue their mess or scrap everything outside of Wonder Woman considering that their most expensive movie is their lowest grossing one.

LMAO

Perhaps the movie Nolan will most remember is “Phantom Thread,” mainly because his children won’t let him forget it. Nolan and his wife, producer Emma Thomas, made the mistake of bringing their young children to see Paul Thomas Anderson’s new movie, and now they call their father “Woodcock” anytime they feel he’s asking too “dictatorial.” “Phantom Thread” has also made it impossible to cook with mushrooms in the Nolan household.

“My wife and I made the strange decision to take our kids to go see it and, ever since, every time I do anything vaguely what they would call dictatorial, it’s, ‘Oh, Mr. Woodcock, are you a spy? Get out your gun. Do you have a gun?'” Nolan said. “I’ve been hearing that for weeks. And every time Emma cooks mushrooms now, there are huge hysterics.”

^Kinda spoilery, sort of.

Phantom Thread is great btw. Love PTA even more than Nolan. That scene is hilarious!

What do you guys think of this scnene. Cool or not?

It sorta reminds of Burton's Batman. And not just because Ben Affleck moves with extreme stiffness. And looks bloated. The rooftop set also resembles Burton.

It's a great cutscene for Arkham Knight...

It's a weird one. Very Batman Forever (in general), with a bit of Arkham Knight (tackling the Parademon is like tackling Man-Bat) and a sprinkle of TAS (crouching on the opposite rooftop and swinging away) and B'89 (that last full-body turn and leap).
