Don't believe the tabloid bull****.

I'm really digging Craig as Bond. Obviously we haven't really seen too much of him, but I think he looks more Bond than any of the others (in comparison to the books), and I think he bears good resemblance to Connery too. Since they are claiming this to be more serious in tone- like the books- I think Craig is perfect.

I agree, liked him from the start. If they would have casted someone like Clive Owen, I would have felt like they´re going on with the Brosnan Bond, which wasn´t really my favorite. Casting Craig and giving Bond a more realistic approach, is more then promising for me and I hope it works out right.

What it comes down to is this: Can he act well?
Yes. Unqualified yes.

Watch Layer Cake. Watch his amazing breakout turn in Our Friends in the North. Watch his beautifully nuanced performance in Enduring Love. The guy's been labelled the best actor of his generation, and I'm a believer.

Dude, get this. He isn't even a secret agent either! I can't believe it! How can you believe he can play James Bond if he's never even killed a supervillian before? *WEAK*

And what the hell in a 'manuel' car ??!!

Is it Spanish or something? ;) :D

(it's spelt manual, my friend)

Finally watched Layer Cake last night  Not the best film ever made but I am more confident now that Craig is right for Bond.

Cool, man.

Layer Cake was the film that convinced me that Craig had the attributes to be a good Bond.

I'd truly love to know how many of the people who don't like Craig as Bond have seen the film.

Watch Munich. If Layer Cake convinced you he was right Munich will convince you he's perfect.

Heh, I watched it right after Layer Cake  I thought it was good if a bit too long.

I was watching it thinking 'Damn... Bana and Craig in a Bond film would own'.

I liked Craig for Bond since day one but I still had a few worries. His other work has been good but Layer Cake really set him up well for me... I will be shocked if people dont enjoy him as Bond.

I really liked Craig's performance in The Road to Perdition, he makes a great villain. As for being bond, I'll reserve my thoughts until after the film is out.

I just can't wrap my interest aroung Craig as Bond. This will be the first time in 17 years that I don't go stand in line and buy a ticket to see Bond in action once again. Though both Brosnan and Dalton were only adequately fitting as Bond, they had the things Craig doesn't charm, charisma, and pure self assured male confidence. These are the things that made Connery's Bond the standard. Sure Connery's was a chuavinist, ruthless, and down right cold at times. But when he looked at a woman, there was no denying that she was going to be his. That's what intrigued me in the first place, in spite of myself.

Craig looks like a loner; a henchman rather than an assassin. He's the type that would never get that close to the enemy by using his wits.

As horrible as Tomb Raider was, the entire time i watched all I could focus on was how much of a negative distraction he was. I think he is good in independents, but that's it. Him as bond reminds me of those straight to video action movie I used to watch as a kid on friday nights on HBO.

Craig has self-assured male confidence in spades. And how do you know Craig *doesn't* have these things unless you've seen the film?

The same way I can tell that Andy Dick will suck as James Bond. I don't need to see him in action to ascertain it. Some things can be predicted.

I'm willing to give Craig his chance. He's putting a lot of effort for this film, and that I respect. Even with all the critizism he's getting.

I'm glad you feel this way because you lack the info that would change your mind, so it'll be a shocking surprise to you when you actually see craig in action.

There's not enough to go on to say that Craig's performance as Bond lacks charm, charisma, and self-confidence, because nobody's seen any of it. Those are things that can't be predicted. And vice-versa, there's not enough to say it's all there either (though I think Craig has displayed and intense amount of masculine self-confidence in MUNICH, so I don't see why it would be lacking in CASINO ROYALE).

I was blasting the casting of Brandon Routh for SUPERMAN RETURNS the whole time before I saw the movie. He's an uninspiring actor, he looks too young, he doesn't have the intense masculinity the part needs, and so forth and so on. I was absolutely convinced his performance would suck and it would be a huge and utter miscasting. But guess what? Brandon Routh *owns* as Superman and I had to eat my words. Prediction only goes so far, I'm afraid.

And for what it's worth, there are a lot of insiders who have seen a lot of footage from CASINO ROYALE and the general consensus was that Craig was amazing as Bond and would win over a lot of the haters. Hardly conclusive, but I do feel like mentioning that as I feel it is somewhat relevant.

" The worst Bond to ever grace the silver screen! " I think it's pretty much what I'm thinking

I'm completely sold on Craig as Bond. I think he's going to be fantastic.
