Your current opinion of Daniel Craig as James Bond

It seems like EON is re winding back twenty years or so ago to the time where Bond wasn't all invisible cars chases and huge sattelites (Excuse DAF) This Bond looks more old fashion and will remind us of the good ol' Bond days. Craig looks like the best man right now who can do it. Who cares if he's blond. He's still looks like a great Bond, one that I could see knifing someone or shooting someone from behind.

You think Craig's worse than Woody Allen?

Okay, from a female perspective, vis-a-vis the "Craig is too ugly for Bond" remarks. Handsome in Bond's case primarily refers to his reputation as a ladies' man, and I can tell you now that Craig has all the rugged masculine physical attributes needed to easily make himself appear handsome to most women. Sure, I thought he didn't have the most attractive mug when I first saw the trailer, but his killer bod seriously overcompensated for that factor...good thing they showed that beach shot, because hot's hot, people, and Craig is on FIRE. He's also hotter as a blonde than he'd be with darker hair. Combine that with the body language and the no bull**** ass-kicking, and then like magic, you start seeing the magnetic, handsome stoicism in his face that you "missed" before. And that's all before he's barely said a few words. Female perception of a guy's looks can be strongly manipulated by the way a guy acts (and just because a woman realizes it doesn't make it any less effective), and if he can exude dangerous charm, it'll be that much easier for him. Ugly becomes cool or cute and desirable in an instant, whereas it seems more men tend to be black-and-white in terms of what they consider visually attractive. All in all, if Craig doesn't succeed as Bond, "ugliness" will not even be a minor deciding factor in his case.

If you like that picture, watch Tomb Raider.

I watched Munich over the weekend and through out it all I keept thinking that Eric Bana looked so much more like Bond then Daniel Craig ever will :(

Craig did have a good performance in the movie so maybe he will turn out ok as Bond.

Let's hope for the best.

I think Craig will make a great Bond, and i'm looking forward to his portrayal.

his ears stick out and his eyes slant in just suck a way that makes him look like he's kind of stupid... like katie holmes and vida guererra.

he is in good shape, though.

Craig as Bond is a great casting choice.

The man isn't ugly at all
Is in great shape
Isn't a wuss when it comes to doing his own stunts
Comes across as a hardcore fighter on screen
and he can actually act!

PERFECT!

 Nice post. Totally agree.

Unfortunately, some fans believe Bond should be played by a male model or something though.

I think they just desire coiffed hair.

Why they'd want Henry Cavill is beyond me...

Personally I think Craig will be the best Bond yet.

The pics give that old school Dr. No/Connery-era Bond feel but with a harder edge. Can't wait.

Yeah, I get that vibe as well.

Craig's Bond actually looks like he could absolutely beat the crap out of someone, much the same as Connery's Bond.

Two new promo photos of Craig's Bond:

Without wishing to provoke the pro-Daniel Craig Bond fans, he looks older than Brosnan did in Die Another Day. I thought Casino Royale was about Bond on his first mission. Craig looks rather old and more like a mafia hitman than James Bond. :down

At a visual level, I don't think Eon could have found a worst choice. Looks zero Bond looking to me.

i voted 4,he's not what i envision as Bond but i think right now trying to compare him to Brosnan is asinine,it's not a case of one being better than the other it's a case of a different approach
They were never gonna get an english actor with the mix of charm, looks and ability Brosnan has so instead they went for a talented actor who will give Bond a badass mean slant and i am looking forward to where this new direction takes us

To be fair, that EMPIRE cover is just a *bad* picture. No matter what you think of him, Craig just doesn't look as he appears on that cover.

I disagree. That is a photo of Daniel Craig. Whether or not it's a good photo is open to debate - I guess it's not a good one as it shows his face looking rather harsh and old - but it's still Craig. It's not a body double!

Good ol' days? Brosnan only started as Bond a decade ago. The good ol' days aren't really old, although they were good.

I dont think those empire shots do him much justice at all.

We've all seen him in other pics and in action and he looks a lot better.

Umm, I know it's a photo of Daniel Craig.

But it's a *bad* picture in that it makes him look differently than he actually looks. If you go look at the wealth of photos around of Daniel Craig or watch him in the movies he's done, he doesn't look like he does in that picture.

Craig looks like mafia then a secret agent.

It would fit with Fleming's novels then. In Fleming's THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, Vivienne Michel initially mistakes Bond for a gangster.

(And I don't honestly he looks that much like a gangster - maybe in that outfit because of the pinstripes, but elsewhere? Nah.)

I watched Road to Perdition on Film4 and Craig was much better as Mafia then a been BOND
