So I got through the series (Dini's issues). I wish I had known before that the series was cancelled and Dini wouldn't get to continue/finish the story. I found Mikey really interesting and kept reading through to find out more about her past, and of course the other twist in the last issue.

Disappointed that I'd never find out where this was going I tweeted Paul Dini to ask what Mikey's deal was and much to my surprise, he replied!

Sure. Mikey's a guy who was turned into a woman. Zatanna didn't do it & can't reverse it; Mikey brought it on him/herself.

Now Mikey's in an interesting place where she has to sort out her feelings about this. There's a lot more to the story...

...But I never got a chance to tell it. Oh well.

Such a shame. However, Zatanna gained a new fan today.
