1,2 Freddy's coming for you: Welcome to the elm street thread

i thought it was okay... could of been better though

I only saw the first one... haven't seen requiem yet

I thoughjt fvj was a great tribute to each character, but the acting by the victims was so wooden and cliched. I cringe when I hear "You know why they sing that? Because that means he's coming for you." I can't wait until the original Nightmare gets Blu-Ray treatment. The new transfer on the infinifilm edition is spectacular though, so that will do for now I guess (after having seen the VHS and 1999 DVD for the past 8 years).

I saw FvJ a week ago. Apart from the arrival to Crystal Lake and Monica Keena's breast the movie was stupid... a fun kind of stupid, but still.

Here's my thoughts...

Nightmare on Elm Street...One of the greatest horror films ever and the best horror film of the 80's. A horror icon is born. 5 out of 5 stars.

Freddy's Revenge...The only things I really liked are the score and Freddy's makeup. There are some cool parts(Freddy bursting out of Jesse's chest),but not much here. 2 out of 5 stars.

Dream Warriors...One of the greatest horror sequels ever. In some ways,it's better than the original. Freddy may not have been scary, but he still was creepy as hell. 5 out of 5 stars.

Dream Master... This is the movie that turned Freddy into a comedian and this has an MTV feel to it. However, the effects are the best of the series and the movie is the most entertaining. 4 out of 5 stars.

Dream Child...It has some cool deaths, but I feel it was a wasted effort. The idea of having Krueger trying to control Alice's child was an awesome idea, but it wasn't used properly. Overall,an ok film, but it could've been so much better. 3 out of 5 stars.

Freddy's Dead... Ugh. The worst of the series. Freddy and the film weren't even scary and the death was bad. It has Roseanne in it. Nuff' said. 1 out of 5 stars.

New Nightmare... Like Dream Child,I feel this film had so much potential, but it was wasted. The idea was brilliant and Freddy did have a bit more menace to him,but by the end he felt like a jokester again(saying the Dylan,"I got some gingerbread for ya!"). Oh yeah, that kid who played Heather's "son," was horrible. Again,an ok film with some cool parts. 2 and 1/2 stars out of 5.

Freddy vs. Jason... Everything single moment that has Freddy,Jason or both in it was simply amazing! That ending fight was still the best I've seen in a film. Great, bloody mutilation! However, all the other film's moments without the two killers was so bad. The acting and dialogue was horrible. Katharine Isabelle gave the best performance, yet she was killed. In my opinion, she should've played Lori Campbell and not Monica Keena. But,for me,the fight more than made up for it. 4 stars out of 5.

agreed 100%

The new NIGHTMARE flick may be this, one treatment in particular, floating around, getting quite a lot of buzz; its simply about the new young couple (hence, young CW-esque stars get to headline) who buy into their first home together... yep, you guessed it... THAT house.

Part 1 - Loved it. Growing up I watched it all the time.
Part 2 - Thought it sucked.
Part 3 - Could be my favorite. Loved the deaths and characters.
Part 4 - Really digged this one also.
Part 5 - Rubbish.
Freddy's dead - I was so hyped to see it, failed at everything it tried to do. Could not belive how **** it was.
New Nightmare - I have not seen this one in a long time but I liked it for bringing the darkness back.

FVJ-Really liked it and it was great seeing these to icons fighting it out.

i want more freddy -
and that fredddys nightmares tv show (just saw it) is rubbish

So did I. It was a load of donkey ****. I didn't even finish watching it.

During the Chase Porter burial scene many former cast members of the franchise unite for the scene. In the audio commentary Wes Craven said he wanted Johnny Depp to join them but was afraid to ask him due to his star success. Later when Depp ran into Craven he said he would have joined the cast if he had been asked.

I read Freddy V Jason V Ash awesome comic.

I love how they aim it for kids.

Yeah, dressing a doll that looks nothing like Robert. E up.

I like the Movie "New Nightmare". It had a lower budget than most, but my favorite scene was when Heather was talking to Wes Craven, then you could see that he wrote the scene before it happened. Awsome.
