Here's my thoughts...
Nightmare on Elm Street...One of the greatest horror films ever and the best horror film of the 80's. A horror icon is born. 5 out of 5 stars.
Freddy's Revenge...The only things I really liked are the score and Freddy's makeup. There are some cool parts(Freddy bursting out of Jesse's chest),but not much here. 2 out of 5 stars.
Dream Warriors...One of the greatest horror sequels ever. In some ways,it's better than the original. Freddy may not have been scary, but he still was creepy as hell. 5 out of 5 stars.
Dream Master... This is the movie that turned Freddy into a comedian and this has an MTV feel to it. However, the effects are the best of the series and the movie is the most entertaining. 4 out of 5 stars.
Dream Child...It has some cool deaths, but I feel it was a wasted effort. The idea of having Krueger trying to control Alice's child was an awesome idea, but it wasn't used properly. Overall,an ok film, but it could've been so much better. 3 out of 5 stars.
Freddy's Dead... Ugh. The worst of the series. Freddy and the film weren't even scary and the death was bad. It has Roseanne in it. Nuff' said. 1 out of 5 stars.
New Nightmare... Like Dream Child,I feel this film had so much potential, but it was wasted. The idea was brilliant and Freddy did have a bit more menace to him,but by the end he felt like a jokester again(saying the Dylan,"I got some gingerbread for ya!"). Oh yeah, that kid who played Heather's "son," was horrible. Again,an ok film with some cool parts. 2 and 1/2 stars out of 5.
Freddy vs. Jason... Everything single moment that has Freddy,Jason or both in it was simply amazing! That ending fight was still the best I've seen in a film. Great, bloody mutilation! However, all the other film's moments without the two killers was so bad. The acting and dialogue was horrible. Katharine Isabelle gave the best performance, yet she was killed. In my opinion, she should've played Lori Campbell and not Monica Keena. But,for me,the fight more than made up for it. 4 stars out of 5.
