There's an interview with John Schneider at Comics Continuum from Megacon as he talks about both Kent and series finale. He says he's in both parts of the finale. :super:

I have no clue what the suit situation is, but -- even supposing they borrowed the costume from SR -- you'd need several to film with (hero, harness, stunt, etc), so unless they borrowed several, it seems it would just be a template. I doubt it, tho.

Wasn't the miliskin ultra expensive? They might go 4 the same basic look, but here's hoping they deviate some. After all, the SR isn't the version audiences will be used to anymore...

Ps: Van, you gotta stop copying & pasting your remarks from here to K-site, it's giving off an oddly sinister chatbot vibe :cwink:

Ya I think in the end it will probably be made of leather/implus-cyborg costume materials but end up having some looks of the sr suit. But change other things around. Or heck could be totally different. Not first time we seen one prop look one way and then it changed.

I'll say one thing about Smallville, Thank for Smallville. Smallville by its self, quietly, has kept Superman in conciseness in a way that with out it my kids would be like 'who the hell is Superman? I don't even know who that guy is.' I think that in that way Smallville has done an amazing job of keeping that icon alive and breathing. He is on life support, but he is there. And I thank them for that.

Smallville has been keeping Superman going for 10 years and that''s no small feat there. We'll see how the new Superman reboot movie does when it's released next year. :super:

It kind of sounded like a reluctant thank you, but it's recognition nonetheless!

Ya smallville has been another anuve for superman to be in the spotlight besides animated stuff.

Here's some interesting anecdotes from Schneider, puts some light on certain things:

http://www.supermanhomepage.com/news.php?readmore=9473

He mentioned that the cost of the upcoming Superman movie was about $100 million. In 10 years of production, Smallville cost $800 million to produce.

Another man in the audience mentioned that two men had been cast to play Superman in the movies during the ten years Tom Welling has portrayed Clark Kent in Smallville. He asked John if it was true that he advised Tom to not audition for the Superman role in the movie. John confirmed that it was true. He felt that there would be no better Superman than Tom Welling, but the Superman role might not be good for Tom Welling's career. It's not because of any Superman curse, but it would be a career mistake. John Schneider said that good things were ahead for the not so young man.

In response to another question, John said that he did not see Tom in the Superman suit, but he did get to see the Superman uniform. He got to touch it, and compared the texture to holding an anaconda. The material it is made of is very slick material. It is a very expensive suit and felt very creepy.

The follow up question was if Michael Rosenbaum was in the final episode. John did not know for sure, because he did not work with Michael in any scenes, nor did he see him on the set. John hoped Rosenbaum would be in the series finale, but honestly didn't know. - LOL!

So the Superman suit for Smallville is made of slick material, eh? That's something that the SR suit is not made of so this definitely means that they have created the Superman suit for TW to fit in. Let's see if the shield symbol resembles the regular comics or the SR one. :super:

Well if we are going by "Homecoming" It's the classic \s/

Don't forget to include screencaps of Salvation's future with Superman in it so we can see which S he uses in that future. :super:

Of course they would make a suit for tom. Like all the other hero/villain suits they would have one for superman. Really can't wait to see how it turns out.

I think after seeing the Blue Beetle and Booster Gold costumes, not to mention all the work that they did on the costumes for Absolute Justice alone, as well as the other costumes we've seen over the past 3-4 seasons, there's no question that they would make their own Superman costume, since the SR suit wasn't tailor made for Clark. However,at the end of the day, it all depends on whether Tom decided to wear one if they were to make one.

I really don't see why he wouldn't. Yes he was more against costumes in the early yrs. But has gotten more open to it. With stuff like wearing zorro costume, green arrow costume, the black/red blur suits. Plus with tom saying he wants to honnor fans and his love for show, he will wear the suit.

TW will wear the suit. Otherwise, what would be the point of making it?

Also after 10 years, he deserves his own Superman suit instead of wearing someone else's. Clark will earn it in the finale. :super:

Well I think he did. Why would they bother to make a costume if he wasn't willing to wear it? ;)

Ya I still don't see it not hapening he will wear suit and really if he was worried about anything it was probably at most 2-3 days max he had it on and probably only for a bit. I think tom as become more accepting to all that stuff now. Then when the show started a decade ago.

If they did make Tom Welling his own costume then for the DVD they should update that scenes that had the SR suit for the DVD

You mean like how they changed Anakin Skywalker's spirit at the end Return of the Jedi, so that it matched the actor who played him in the prequel trilogy? That would be nice.

Care to expand?

I'm sick of dead characters taking over the finale! First Lex and now this!
There's no need for useless character who died half a series ago to come back as some stupid ass ghost and steal ST from series regulars Tess, Oliver, Lois, just so he could give Clark some dumb speech he already gave him in the season premiere!
