Superman Returns 100 Things I Learned From Superman Returns

I disagree. He abandoned the responsibility of his actions by not telling Lois he was leaving. Plus, he wasn't around for the first 4 years of Jason's life. If he wasn't there by default he has abandonned the child and mother.

Ummm...once again:

You can't abandon your child when you don't know you have one! Yeesh, blowing everything out of proportion yet again. He left, didn't know she was pregnant, came back, found out the kid was his and promised that he'd always be around for him and Lois. He's not a deadbeat dad, for God's sake.

Saying that he can't abandon a child he didn't know about is like saying a drunk driver is not guilty of a crime if he didn't realize that he hit someone on the way home. Whether he knew about it or not is irrelevant. He abandon any potential responsisbility when he left w/o telling Lois what he was doing. You also can't ignore the facts that he WAS NOT there for the first 4 years of Jason's life. Sounds like an absentee father to me.

No those situations are not the same at all. Let me give this example, if you had an important meeting in work which you HAD to attend, but no one told you about it happening, and then you got sacked for not attending it, would you feel hard done by?

And anyway LOIS may not have known she was pregnant at that point either. And you cant abandon something you dont know about anyway, i dont know were your reasoning comes from.

How can anyone tell a lie based on their own opinoin. I think SUperman was out of character. I don't think he would ever father a child out of wedlock, or leave the woman he loves for 5 years w/o telling her that he's leaving. That's what I think. I don't secretly believe that he would and I'm contradicting that view publicly. I REALLY believe that he would not do those things. Just b/c I see Superman as a character whose essence is that of strong traditional morals and a character who puts others feelings before his own and you don't that is not lying. We simply disagree on the presentation of the character in the movie. No one is lying. Even Bryan SInger is not lying. HE maybe representing the character in a way incongruent with comic book continuity, but he's not lying.
No, you are lying. You'd have to be kidding yourself to think Superman did anything out of character in SR. Because every single thing he did in SR has been done in a Superman comic at one time or another. So when you say Bryan Singer's version of Superman goes against the comic, you are lying.

I learned that the films rabid defenders and the films rabid haters are equally pathetic.

I was dissapointed but geez, it's just an opinion. People here take a film that the general public has already forgotten way to seriously, both the haters and the lovers.

Your ABSOLUTELY F'en correct!
Patheticly in  with :supes: !
My malfunction is singerman.

I didn't have any real expectations for X3 either, but I liked and felt it entertained.

I had all kinds of expectations for SR. I expected to hate it. And Singer did a fantastic job of fulfilling my expectations.

Did I want to hate it? No. But it was so horrible, I had no choice.

:woot: gorgeously put, you are indeed a scholar.

No. They're liars. These people that come online every day just to bash a movie they didn't like are so pathetic that they have to lie or blow things out of proportion just to get their point across.
It's called opinion. Like buttholes everyone had one. So are you saying anyone who doesn't like a movie you like are "liars"? If you do you must have a pretty big opinion of yourself.

Just to clarify, it's spelled "Mankiewicz".
I know. I can never spell his name. And I am always too lazy to look it up. but the man is a kick ass Superman writer, even with all that "the cop. The priest" stuff he had in his script.

Yes, Superman did things in this movie out of character, and Singerman's version of Superman went against the comics, and yes I hate the movie, and the trashy suit.

Back on topic:

#31. Because you have super powers and deeply in love, you can be a homewrecker, screw over your boss's son, and still get away with it.

#32. You can do everything that you can to piss him off, everything that goes against his will, and even drop the crystals, but you'll always be Lex's b****.

Sorry, but a drunk driver does not equal a guy not even aware that he has a kid. Had Superman known he was having a child he never would have left because his whole PURPOSE of leaving was to see if there were others like him.

i still find it hard to believe that Supes would not know there was a possibility that Lois could get pregnant.

call me simplistic and naive, but when a guy and a girl get together and have sex, there's always the possibility of the girl getting pregnant. Even with protection or birth control, there's still the chance. And, since it seemed neither of those were used in SR ( hence the child ), that would mean there'd be an even greater chance of Lois getting pregnant.

Now, some will say that Supes wouldn't even know he'd be capable of fathering a child because he is an alien, and his DNA is incompatible. Well, if he's so concerned about that, then perhaps he shouldn't have sex in the first place! I mean, a super-powered man in the heat of passion would prove to be a health hazard for the woman!!!

Who says he didn't know there was a possibility. But, believe it or not, most guys who do a chick don't come up to them a few weeks later and say, "Hey, are you pregnant cause I got this trip I gotta go on and I don't know when I'll be back."

Very good point. As far as she knew, Richard White was Jason's father. The Kid was weak and sickly the first four years of his life until his mother was put in danger. She had no need to question it until he threw the piano.
