did people really think that Meyer was going to leave Florida??

He said in his book that ND was his dream job.

But then again if it really was, he probably would have taken it when he had the chance in 04. I dunno.

It was never the most realistic possibility, but he has described it as his "dream job," and you figure Meyer's really done everything he possibly can with Florida. I mean, there's not much else to accomplish there. But, as I said, realistically it was never expected.

Source: Clausen Punched By Irate Fan

Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Cluasen was punched in the face by an irate fan outside a South Bend restaurant early Sunday morning and has a swollen eye, a person briefed on the incident said on Monday.

That person said Clausen was "sucker-punched" by a fan as he left an establishment after having dinner with his parents.

The fan allegedly said something to Clausen and/or a female acquaintance.

A South Bend police spokesman said that no police reports were filed over the weekend involving Clausen, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The newspaper also reported that the name of the bar was CJ's and that a bartender at the establishment said that Clausen had been there with family members and other Irish upperclassmen after Notre Dame's loss to Connecticut on Senior Day.

The source told ESPN.com that the injury is not expected to keep Clausen from playing this weekend against Stanford.

I think there's more going on here than the article indicates. No report filed over a sucker punch that leads to a black eye? Come on.

Well, when I heard about this story on campus, people were saying that Golden Tate, Michael Floyd, and Kyle McCarthy took that guy outside and beat the daylights out of him. That might be part of the reason nothing was filed (if it's true).

PETA says the time has come for the SEC's first robot mascot

The sudden death of beloved Georgia mascot Uga VII to an apparent heart attack last week opened the floodgates to an outpouring of goodwill for one of the shorter-lived (and least successful, frankly, in terms of the team's on-field performance) reigns in Uga history, including a private memorial service and burial in Sanford Stadium before last Saturday's sobering loss to Kentucky. It also opened up a window for the capable opportunists at PETA, who suggested the Bulldogs forego the eighth in a line of mascots from a family of English bulldogs and turn instead to our old friend, technology, in the form of college football's -- and perhaps the world's -- first robot mascot

I saw that yesterday, didn't post it because PETA is full of bull by-product anyway, but now especially for trying to mess with our dog.

One claim of theirs was Uga is not treated properly, which shows that they know nothing absolutely nothing. England's royal family would be envious of the luxury treatment that Uga gets.

But it's just PETA doing their usual crap-stirring...probably to distract people from the dogs and cats they euthanize every year.

What the hell...rivalry week starts early? Bama/Auburn is today. I totally did not realize that.

Texas/Texas A&M played last night. I saw the heading and thought it was a basketball game.

Colt Mccoy had a great game but people are goin crazy on how he should win the Heisman now, lets see if he can put up the same numbers he had in the last game against Nebraska

Colt McCoy will win the Heisman. I was pretty sure it was certain before this weekend (not because he has out performed Ingram, but because college football doesn't care about awarding the best player), but this weekend gave Heisman voters cover for the vote.

I read even the doghouse he has on the field is air conditioned

WVU UPSETS #9 Pitt! I'm still trying to figure out just how we pulled it off, but damn it feels good to win the Backyard Brawl again! Go Mountaineers!

Fire when is AJ Green returning/when can people care about Georgia??

It's gameday!!

Rivalry week continues everywhere :wow:

Fire when is AJ Green returning/when can people care about Georgia??
Lord willing, today.

When we get attitude, and coordinators that will make adjustments, and not use the same tired unadjusted plans that are easily defeated by the other fellow :wall:
