I don't get the hate for Ovechkin? He seems like a rather fun guy, and is a Hall of Fame level player despite the occasional defensive lapses. He's never even been in a Conference Final before.

I say this as a fan of a division rival who he's had his way with for a decade as well.

Caps dismantled an amazing hockey club. Even if they weren't as deep as the last couplr seasons, WSH played their game extremely well. This was without some of their top 6 guys: Backstrom, Wilson, Burakovsky.

Extremely impressive. Once again, Crosby and Ovechkin both had great series but this time, the Washington Capitals prevailed. Awesome.

The Lightning are a fantastic team but most of the hockey world are rooting for Alex Ovechkin and the Caps to win the Cup.

It is?

It most certainly isn't. :funny:

I am cheering for Vegas :o

Oh god, Jets, please find a way to beat Vegas and restore some credibility to this league.

I for one hope the Knights beat the brains out of them.

I would have given another team my heart.
But it's the Thrashers who've torn it apart.
And they've taken almost all that I've got.
But if the Knights want, I'll try to love again.
Baby I'll try to love the Knights, but I know ... The first cut is the deepest ...

Capitals dominated play in game 1. I expect the Lightning to be much better from here forward. WSH took away most of what Tampa does back from quick breakouts

You guys can say what you want but from the hockey internetz perusing I've done, fans of eliminated teams largely are cheering for OV to win a Cup, maybe not necessarily the Caps

I have a feeling if Ryan Reaves and Dustin Byfuglien crash into each other, it would create an extinction-level event.

Shocked that the Lightning of Tampa is down two, to the Capitals of Washington. The DC Caps are completely manhandling the Nings in every fashion. What a dominating display on the road...Wow.

Game 3 is going to be pivotal for Nings, if they are going to crawl back in it...otherwise, just pack it up til next season. I thought this series may go 5 for very different reasons.

Good for you Nings of Tampa, now goeth thou and wineth three more against the Capitals of Washington

The NHL playoffs do have a Game of Thrones vibe this year, with a handsome Knight (Jonathan Marchessault), a giant (Dustin Byfuglien) and a guy who ****s his mother (Tom Wilson).

I think he has the same helmet as King Theoden from Lord of the Rings.

So did anyone predict Vegas vs. Winnipeg in the WC Finals?

Great run by the Knights of Vegas, making it against all odds, representing the West in the Stanley Cup Finals. 4 wins & they complete a never before accomplishment in history...I'm all in. I thought it may be, the Ning & the Knights....looking more & more to be the case. The Lightning of Tampa will be tough to beat; but make no mistake, it can be done.

Vegas Strong

I'm rooting for Vegas to win the cup now. Let the NHL's humiliation be complete.
