2014/2015 NHL Thread: Hawks!

Damn, poor Rangers. I was rooting for them.

I wonder what was up with the captain.

So happy my Bolts won that, they earned it too. It was a damn good game, I'm thinking about trying to pick up tix for the finals since an opportunity like that doesn't come around too often but I know they are going to be pricey. Hopefully we when the cup on a home game!

Anaheim vs. Tampa would be an entertaining series, almost like it was 1986 all over again, but I still see Chicago biting and scratching its way to the final.

As a Caps fan not disappointed at all that the Rangers lost. I feel a bit bad for Henrik because his team didn't pick him up, and it kind of sucks that a soft goal (for him at least) probably made the different.

Not a big fan of the Lightning as the Caps and them battled it out before the division realignment.

I'm a huge fan of the Kane and Toews, but I'm rooting for the Ducks. Who the hell wants to hear Milbury's bias support for the Blackhawks for another round. He might as well come out with a Blackhawks jersey.

Me too. The Ducks are such a clutch team, but I think Chicago might pull it off.

That game where they scored 2 goals in under 2 minutes and then lost in OT was a heart breaker.

Really bummed about the Rangers. They had the same problems last night that they had in G5. Offense was totally out of sync and inefficient. Tampa had a real lousy first two periods and the Rangers never took advantage. Their passing was really weak and their shots were not very strong at all. They got that squeaker by Henrik in the 3rd and then got real aggressive, played great D and shut the door. They played better and deserved the win. Hats off to them.

Chicago was just too good. I'm happy they won

Toews for the win!

Chicago in 7, but it wouldn't shock me if its Tampa in 7. Their defensive core is better than I thought it would be.

I'm going with Chicago in 6... though the series will be tougher than most are saying...

The Rangers fans here might get a kick out of this article. Or not.

Eulogy: Remembering the 2014-15 New York Rangers

Choice quotations:

After the Islanders lost a soul-sucking series to Washington, Isles fans had to quickly turn around and root for the same team that just ate their beating heart in front of their faces.

Rooting against the Rangers is a process that sometimes will make you question if you’re a good person (if you hate the Rangers, chances are you are a fine human being).

Everybody you ever hated in college is at the bar and they are wearing their Ryan Callahan jerseys over their work clothes ...

That's perfect, especially this part:

Because each year we get the unexplainable satisfaction of seeing Henrik Lundqvist, mask still on, hunch over as he slowly glides towards another sullen handshake line.

He’s one year closer to being on that “Best to Never Win” List you dream about him landing on.

You sit on your barstool and you gleam among gloom. Someone asks the bartender to change the channel so they don’t have to watch anymore.

It just doesn’t get any better than that.

:woot:

Like all sports, hockey is a game of in-play adjustments. The 'Hawks made them, the Bolts didn't, and we all saw the result. Great game--loved Duncan Keith knocking Tyler Johnson onto his ass as the twoskated toward each other.

Man I can't see how Tampa comes back now.

Tampa worked them last night and it was a thing of beauty. Loved that 2nd goal the Bolts made within 13 seconds of the Hawks scoring. Bolts are really showing they deserve to be here. Can't wait for game 4!

Hopefully Bishop can last another two games (minimum). He looks pretty iffy out there. Might be a hip issue.

Sucks that Bishop isn't playing but the new guy has been holding his own. Hawks struck first but I'm confident the Bolts can pull this one out

Tampa shot the puck to all hell in those last minutes. Zoinks!
