50 state initiative

My question is how do the determine how many members each team gets... I suggest the same as senate and house seats. So every state gets at least a 3 man team.
Basically Add two to the data in the census numbers. Or maybe not. Alaska would just get 1 hero then.

I say 7-10 members per team, 7 official members, 3 as reserves.

What about The Fantastic Four?

It doesnt look like the Fantastic Four will be a sanctioned Government team, everyone of there members is currently about to battle it out with the pro-regs, except for Thing who has expressed his dislike of the registration, but has decided to stay nuetral.

Florida
Captain Seminole: a Native American granted class 60 strength and mystical weaponry by a ceremony conducted by tribal elders. the catch is; he doesn't care about his heritage or about the destruction of his tribal grounds. sure, it means he'll be out of a job (he conducts tours of native american sites, and swamp tours) but honestly, he couldn't care less.

Man-Thing: in the last few years the creature has been seing strange things coming. He knows that dark things are coming... the nexus must be guarded, he must bring others to help him.

Tronic: perhaps the most bizzare hero on the team, Tronic was created as a next-generation animatronic at a local theme park. a power surge in the testing phase somehow granted the worlds most advanced man-made android free-will. He has a pirate motif that he enjoys indulging. very Erol Flynn.

Flora: the world's first human-plant hybrid. she is a beautiful woman who can command plants, and even generate some. She is immune to any and all poisons, and she alone looks at Man-Thing with something more than fear.

Fisherman: a mutant who "survived" M day and stayed free. he can breath underwater, communicate with sea life, can fly, and is a class 15 strength. weilds trident.

Heh..that pretty damn inventive.

Thank you, oh, and for you Leaguer, Fisherman is the latino of the group.

I liked the idea of Tronic because... honest, in our world, Disney has the best technology in the world and they blow it on dancing squirrels.

Like Erol Flyn eh? So does that mean he'd be a shameless womanizer?

I dunno. that's just who they refrence when they show Nightcrawler in his swashbuckling gear, and that is what I'm thinking of.

OH! heee... Tronic... TRIES to be womanizing, but ultimately fails as part of his programming causes him to be extremely polite.

You can be polite and still womanize. I've done it.

I'm a player, but only on line... I just made myself sad.

LMAO!!

Hey it's all good Z, I'm a total geek online but I'd never let my buddies know it in reallife.

But at least you're cool in the real world.

I'm just thinking that it would be hilarious for a robot to attempt to be a womanizer.

Tronic: "Wow if I got her a lone I'd..." pauses, thinks. "I really wish I had been made by Universal instead of disney."

Excellent point! Since most teams need more than 1 hero to protect even a small state, perhaps they could use the same census numbers that determine Senate & House seats and double them? Or perhaps do that but set it up like the "great compromise" and ensure that while big states may get bigger teams due to pop, every state has to have a team of at least 4 members (taking after the Fantastic Four who commonly make due with 4). Much as the Founding Fathers created the Senate to ensure that small and big states had equal reps and the House to ensure that population did matter.

Such as, large population states could have teams with as many members as the census figures calculated (I've seen many an X-Roster juggle that) while every state is guarenteed at least a 4 member team. That way larger states may end up with 8-10 member teams but even small states like Alaska would get a foursome.

The hero's powers could also come into play. I mean, 1 Superman in Metropolis is usually enough. But that would feel like discrimination, and either wouldn't work or could make for an interesting plot point.

LOL!

also, the fact that he's a robot means he can be friends with Man-Thing (And totally not get why that name is funny). Flora starts coming on to Man-Thing who, while a little smarter than before, is still not really read for a relationship. Then you've got Captain Seminole who doesn't even want to be doing this in the first place press ganged into it because his tribal elders gave him powers and the SHRA. the most reluctant member is their leader. and then the Fisherman believes they're all nuts and he is the most together member of the team.

This team has a natural humor to it that Dan Slott could pull off.

Dude... thank you... **Desperately tries not to cry** I just have something in my eye!

I'm still working on the Alaska team in my head. You have Harpoon, Yeti, and Melt... I'm thinking Wolverine should get stuck on the team. The team is camping out in the tundra (I don't know why) and Wolverine walks from his tent naked to go piss behind a tree. Harpoon massages the bridge of his nose thinking he wished the governement hadn't been so desperate to get rid of that guy. Yeti ***** his head wondering why the human had so much fur. Melt thinks to herself, "Huh... I would have thought it would be bigger."

"I'm the best there is with what I got bub."

"Which ain't much."

"If it comes near me," Melt threatens, "You will have to re grow it." she ignites her hand to illustrate the point.

"Wolverine, just go put something on... boxers, a thong, I don't care if it's a goddamn loin cloth, just put somethig on."

"Rgrerrr, You wouldn't complain if Melt were naked, bub."

"Melt is a C-cup, so you're right."

both men are hit by fire-balls.

The Silver Surfer for big threats.

The Punisher/Wolverine team for light threats.

Emma Frost for "personal reasons".
