Seeing it from Clark's POV, he probably figured that anything he could have told her would have inevitably led to him having to spill his own secret.
Possibly that was his train of thought, but I think it's very short-sighted and I expect more of him than that. He could have warned her without spilling all the beans. But of course, that wouldn't have served the storyline.
Lana jumped to conclusions about Clark's motivations. She didn't ask about his conversation with Chloe - she only heard a piece of it and just assumed the worst. *snipping and pasting*
I think she needs to find out about Lex/Zod on her own. I don't want anybody to tell her. Clark tried, but got metaphorically slapped in the face with an "I don't know how I could have ever loved you."
We really see that scene so totally differently. The way I saw it, it was CRISIS time and she (yet again) begged him
directly to tell her wtf was going on... and he stood there, numb as usual. That's when she flipped and said what she said. Not that I'm happy she said it, but I don't buy that she prevented him from telling her anything there.. he clammed up.. again, and simply was not going to explain *anything*.
It frustrates me because I expect more of him by now. But again, I see how that serves the greater storyline.
Even in Oracle, Lana accused Clark of breaking into her dorm room. Doesn't Lana still live with Chloe, who she KNOWS Clark pals around with? Maybe he was there with Chloe and she was in the bathroom or something. But nooooooo! She's pissed off with Clark right from the git go.
He was rifling through her things! LOL.. Should she really have checked the bathroom first, before getting angry at him? I don't recall Lois suggesting they check the bathroom for Chloe.
She's treated him like a pariah for the last few episodes even *after* he told her he just wanted her to be happy.
Yeah..well he also told her prior to that that he would ALWAYS love her.. then he proceeded to break her heart and tell her that, oops.. he was mistaken, he actually DOESN'T love her anymore. Mixed messages are becoming his trademark.
It's tragic and he doesn't deserve the vitriol she's levied upon him.
He doesn't.. and yet he does. IMHO
but she needs a harsh reminder that Clark is everything she said he was in episodes like Hidden. She needs to be slapped back (metaphorically speaking) so that she never doubts Clark again.
I think you are saying that she should have continued to have blind faith in him, regardless of anything and everything that's happened. And I say that I think she tried that and had it thrown back into her face. I want her to have that reminder about the kind of man Clark really is too.. I want it more than anything, but I think there have been mistakes made on both sides of the fence when it comes to their relationship.
