We really see that scene so totally differently. The way I saw it, it was CRISIS time and she (yet again) begged him directly to tell her wtf was going on... and he stood there, numb as usual.
See above hypothetical dialog. What could he have possibly said?

And he'd probably do it again if given the chance. After Reckoning, he's not going to spill the beans to Lana for quite a while. I still think it won't be till the finale episode, or the penultimate one, at most.
It frustrates me because I expect more of him by now. But again, I see how that serves the greater storyline.
I think he's just doing what he feels is the best for Lana. He treats her like a breakable object so much, I'm surprised he hasn't bubble wrapped her yet. LOL

He was looking at a photograph. He could have just walked in and saw what somebody else had done. My point is, she didn't even give him the benefit of the doubt.

That was just an example of her jumping to conclusions that he *broke* into her dorm room. The first words out of her mouth were "how did you get in here?" Well duh.... WE know how he did it, but any other person would have logically assumed he was with Chloe. Why would she assume he BROKE into her room? It's bizarre.
I don't recall Lois suggesting they check the bathroom for Chloe.
Lois didn't make any accusations. All she said was, "smooth one, Smallville" and then bolted at the "sound" of a keg being tapped.
Yeah..well he also told her prior to that that he would ALWAYS love her.. then he proceeded to break her heart and tell her that, oops.. he was mistaken, he actually DOESN'T love her anymore.
And she's told him time and time again that she always knows when he's lying, but in this instance, there's that storyline that needs to be served again. Oh well. LOL
Mixed messages are becoming his trademark.
She's had her moments too, but Clark has managed to hang in there with her Nicodemus seizures, Dichotic double dates, Magnetic escapades, Spelltastic witchy moments, and Thirsty vampiric possessions.
He doesn't.. and yet he does. IMHO
What goes around comes around. She doesn't deserve what she's gonna get from Lexod either, but then again, maybe she sorta does.
I think you are saying that she should have continued to have blind faith in him, regardless of anything and everything that's happened. And I say that I think she tried that and had it thrown back into her face. I want her to have that reminder about the kind of man Clark really is too.. I want it more than anything, but I think there have been mistakes made on both sides of the fence when it comes to their relationship.
I agree. They're both at fault. This is why their relationship can be such a drag sometimes. The seesaw pulls everything down. Viewers want somebody to just poop or get off the pot. Clark got off the pot. So did Lana, though she took it one step further and jumped into the fire.
