Yea I never had a problem with the sonar concept either.

It wasn't the concept. I loved the concept. It was Batman using prep time to the max. It was the implementation that rubbed me up the wrong way... "See those bad guys on the floor above?"

I just watched a bootleg of the prologue. Bane isn't THAT hard to understand. I picked up everything he said except for the first thing he said to the guy who stayed on the plane, but I got the gist of it anyway. Something like "You need to be in the wreckage." But the voice in the prologue was a bit different from the trailer.

It was ''No! They expect one of us in the wreckage, brother.''

Nobody bothers to collect Blood samples to identify bodies found in a plane crash, there are other ways to identify, like getting DNA samples from hair, bones, tissue.

Nolan just included blood transfusion scenes to show that Bane is intelligent but he is not as good a detective as Batman. :awesome:

Banes plans have some flaws.

I think Bane's plan is supposed to be looked at with a bit of suspension of disbelief. The point is that he took precautionary measures to cover his tracks. That alone tells me as a viewer that he's very calculative and ingenious.

Did they do any ADR on the prologue? The reason I ask is because the only line of Bane's that I didn't like was, "with no survivors". It was just a bit flat, and not as menacing as I thought it should be.

At this point it's difficult to tell why Bane did the blood transfusion, but Im inclined to think it was just to slow down the investigation; not necessarily to completely cover his tracks.

It sounded like he was out of breath when he said it.

Personally, I loved the delivery on every one of his lines. In this particular case, it sounded like he was exerting effort trying to get up and snap off whatever was used to bound his wrists.

what was the first thing Bane said? While he still had the bag over his head. It was harder to understand that line the most.

"Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane."

Awesome! Thanks!

Did someone type up a transcript of the entire scene?

The scene actually works a lot better without the sonar.
From a visual stand point (kinda funky result)
And from a character standpoint (Batman functions better when he's not talked through a fight like a blind man).

Looking forward to seeing some footage tonight.

Yeah, Bane was pretty understandable. I'm not sure why people are complaining. (I saw it with MI4)

Amazing to hear Fox isn't in the new footage what so ever.
The last film(s) had in particular had him needed to find joker, fight joker and defeat joker.

I'd take one but all three aspects? Sheesh I hope bane breaks his back too. Seeing as he's Gothams real hero.

Bane's lines are as follows:

"Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane."

"It doesn't matter who we are. What matters is our plan. No one cared who I was until I put on the mask."

"Of course. Dr. Pavel refused our offer in favor of yours. We had to figure out what he told you about us."

"Crashing this plane. With no survivors."

"No! They expect one of us in the wreckage brother."

"Calm down doctor! Now is not the time for fear. That comes later."

No disrepect to Anne Hathaway--who by all accounts, looks to be a fantastic Catwoman--but after watching M:I4, one can't help but be impressed with Paula Patton's performance. Ms. Patton is equally adept at kicking butt and exuding sensuality as a seductress. The below photo is not representative of the grace and capability she put on display in the film, but it's flattering nonetheless:

Just got back from seeing M:I in IMAX, and yes, my screening had the prologue. All I can say is this: Nolan's got this by the balls. The only thing that needs to be fixed is that they should make Bane's voice a bit clearer so that we can hear what he's saying. I could make out 99.9% of what he was saying, but it was a bit muffed due to his mask. However, I'm pretty sure Nolan and company will fix that in post-production. Overall, looking GREAT so far!

Prologue Score:
9.5/10

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol:
9.6/10

EDIT: Had to take out the P.S. because it contained swearing in the video title.

This is the best I could do. I'm sure I got some lines wrong. I also included some descriptive stuff for the few people who haven't actually seen it yet.

(The prologue opens on Harvey Dent's funeral from The Dark Knight, or perhaps some kind of tribute to him in TDKR.)

Gordon: I knew Harvey Dent. I was his friend. And it will be a very long time before someone inspires us the way he did. I believed in Harvey Dent

(new scene now with a plane and a truck in the middle of a field. Some mercs are escorting Dr. Pavel and two or three other guys with bags over their heads to some CIA guys)

CIA man: Dr. Pavel. I'm CIA.

merc: He wasn't alone.

CIA man: Uh, you don't get to bring friends.

Pavel: These are not my friends.

merc: Don't Worry. I'll charge for them.

CIA man: And why would I want that?

merc: They were trying to grab your prize. They work for the mercenary. The masked man.

CIA man: Get them on board. I'll call it in.

CIA man: The flight plan I bought with the agency lists me, my men, Dr. Pavel here, but only one of you. First one to talk gets to stay on my aircraft.

CIA man: Who [intelligible] you to grab Dr. Pavel?

Bane's bro: ...

(CIA man pretends to shoot him and throw him out of the plane)

CIA man: He didn't fly so good.

CIA man: Who wants to try next? Tell me about Bane. Why does he wear the mask?

Bane's bro: ...

CIA man: A lot of loyalty for a hired gun.

Bane: Or perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.

CIA man: At least you can talk. Who are you?

Bane: It doesn't matter who we are. What matters is our plan. No one cared who I was before I put on the mask.

(CIA man removes the bag from Bane's head)

CIA man: If I pull that off will you die?

Bane: It would be extremely painful...

CIA man: You're a big guy.

Bane: ...for you.

CIA man: Was getting caught part of your plan?

Bane: Of course. Dr. Pavel refused our offer in favor of yours. We had to find out what he told you about us.

Pavel: I said nothing.

CIA man: Well, congratulations. You got yourself caught. Now what's the next step in your master plan?

Bane: Crashing this plane. With no survivors.

(Bane and his men attack and kill everyone, then get ready to leave the plane)

Bane: No. They expect one of us in the wreckage, brother.

Bane's bro: Have you started the fire?

Bane: The fire rises.

Bane: Calm down doctor. Now is not the time for fear, that comes later.
