I really hope so. I understand Nolan bringing out Batman in day, but honestly I prefer the night shots. Even TDK was a bit too bright for me, but you can't please everyone.

It's not like it's a sunny day or anything. Think more or less a snowy overcast. Having parts this film set in the winter is really great.

Well the cops were cheering for something after the battle. :woot:

Well, since the bad guys were put out of commission, there would hopefully be no more dead cops.

If the big battle is in this context, could you guys imagine Batman saying a few inspiring words to the crowd...in his Bruce voice? My goodness.:wow:
He's the leader / hero they deserve. He has the get broken to rebuild himself and truly believe it ... believe in HIMSELF.

Batman is a shell ... Bruce Wayne is the hero. The costume is just tactical gear, and a symbol for others to rally around.

His father would now be proud ...

Bruce Wayne is the deserving legend and hero of Gotham.

Not a monster.

Wayne finally recognizes the power of the last name he inherited and so easily rejects in BEGINS and TDK.

And we all want to make our father's proud ; )

Such as?

They used natural lighting much of the time.
Two-Face interrogating Schiff was brightly lit, the parking deck was extremely lit for a night shoot, Batman interrogating Maroni was brightly lit, The Bat-pod chase scene was all brightly lit.

The only night scenes that were somewhat dark, and didn't feel like there were back-lights on everything, was Hong Kong and Batman fighting in the abandoned skyscraper. Everything else looked like it was back lit to look like a photoshoot at night. It was just too bright.

And next time, if you're curious or want to question something I said, it would be best not to give me an outright dismissal with a 'dry' emoticon.

I actually thought that was very dark.

Well it's a parking garage ... Nolan's Batman operates in a believable world.

Batman interrogating Maroni was brightly lit
Not at all ...

It's just not excessively dark, theatrical shadowy like the Burton films.

The Bat-pod chase scene was all brightly lit.
Not at all ... they shot the whole thing on dim and GRIMY Lower Whacker.

You of ALL people should know what that street is like, bro ...

You can't even make out Batman's facial features or the bike's details when he's on Whacker, or driving down a dark alley.

Didn't mean to offend you, haha ... they are they for use, right? And I did ask you a question. I didn't dismiss it.

The Tumbler chase was on the lower Whacker, the Bat-pod chase was through random streets, a mall, and then the final showdown in front of Wayne Tower. All of which, was brightly lit.

Just because it's dark outside in the shot, doesn't mean the scene itself is dark. You can tell they used a lot more backlights on most of the night shots in TDK. It's night outside, yet, you can't even see anybody's shadow cause it's so bright.

Umm, anyone remember Latino Review's April Fools Joke from April?

When the third and (supposedly) final film in Christopher Nolan's Batman series goes before the cameras in a few months, the first order of business will be shooting an opening sequence similar to the prologue we saw in The Dark Knight. That film opened with a bank robbery sequence shot in IMAX and designed to set up the character of The Joker. This time, instead of a robbery, its a prison break and the fugitive in custody is none other than The Batman. He is being extradited from England back to the States to be tried in Gotham, but getting caught was exactly what The Batman wanted. The authorities supervising his transfer work for the mob and their boss is none other than Alberto Falcone, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt!

......

Apparently, Nolan has something crazy planned for the opening sequence which will involve a mid-air escape, plane to plane transfer and firefight shot entirely in IMAX. The Batman gets his wish and Falcone and his goons confront him aboard the flight, but when both their plans go awry, the sequence ends with Falcone escaping and Batman trapped aboard a burning cargo plane with the mobster's surviving goons trying to take him down with them.

So freakin' weird...

Agreed. I understand what Nolan's doing being this is a "new" take on Batman, but I've always been of the mindset that Batman should never be seen in daylight.

It's not even a story issue for me, it's a preference. Batman goes perfectly with the night.

It won't be "Batman in daylight" ...

I think what he's getting at is that everyone in the story knows Bruce Wayne is Batman by that time.

more interesting to me is how this place is going to be once the prologue is shown.

Not the excitement and the various GIFs conveying happiness but rather the acceptance of how different this film is going to be from the previous two. I've seen a couple of posters who have seemingly got it but the majority still don't seem to get 'it' quite yet and that's not a fault by any means.

Scope and Tone those are really going to be big discussion points soon

I'm one of the few when it comes to realizing this is going to be different. Just looking at the major differences in BB and TDK, Nolan doesn't seem the type to make the same movie over again. TDK had a way different tone and feel then BB, I expect the same with TDKR.

Different feel, different story per film and tone per film in the series, all while being recognizably the same setting, characters and continuity is how you do a series RIGHT. Keeps each one fresh, yet it allows you to grow and care about said characters.

Not really sure why people are worried about Batman being in daylight.
I'm pretty sure even though these scenes take place in daylight, they're gonna' be heavily desaturated - ala the Train-Gunfight scene in "Inception".
Didn't Pfister have his trusty screen panels to blot out the sun at some shootings?

The press screening is the 8th, his info his imminent on the 8th.

That being said, some people have already seen it. there were screenings for WB employees or whatever maybe...a month back? 3 weeks possibly.

I'm surprised there wasn't a rash of information after that. I thought the info I got at the time would be all over the internet at the time and it wasn't.

What info?

I think what he's getting at is that everyone in the story knows Bruce Wayne is Batman by that time.
If that rumor is true, that would make his costume even more useless now. Worse than having him walk around in daylight.
