Just so I've got this clear.

There are actually people here not only defending, but advocating the idea that Bane's dialogue should be completely unintelligible for the sake of realism. There are also people suggesting that Bane's dialogue being incomprehensible is not a big deal.

Well.... I don't think anyone said "completely." And I think what most people said is that, if it's intentional, then it could be okay. Also the point was brought up that it might be an issue raised in the story. We just don't have enough context yet. So no... you're generalizing pretty horribly.

Why bother giving him dialogue at all then? What's the point in the character speaking if people can barely make out a word he says?

Just mind boggling.

What if the point is that he can't be understood? What if the point is that this grotesquely strong man still has a weakness. What if his speech adds to his feelings of alienation towards society? There's just no telling yet is all.

You could take a random scene out of Rocky, and have this same criticism, no?

But I will give you this. If there are crucial bits of dialogue that are truly beyond recognition... and it's a technical problem not a stylistic one.. then we have an issue.

1. No one has seen it, so how can you freak out.

2. Since you haven't seen it, who's to say the fact he was unintelligible was not on purpose (perhaps Nolan did not want you to hear what he was saying in this scene).

3. The film just went into post-production, who's to say that Hardy isn't booked in to redub his scenes?

He does capture this Dr. Pavel.

Are you saying Bane is Russian because you saw the prologue? Or are you saying he's Russian because he captured Dr. Pavel? Because I see no reason why Bane must specifically be Russian, just because he captured Dr. Pavel. People of all nationalities are capable of capturing people of any other nationalities.

Also, there's no direct evidence that he's a convict either (somebody mentioned he has a Russian convict backstory, which is what I was refuting).

Nolan introduced in a half-full theater, saying the IMAX film format, invented roughly the time he was born, was as of yet unmatched.

No 3D sequence I have ever seen has come close to that kind of scalable depth; and let's not even start in on clarity and brightness

Gotta love this and I'm not that much a fan of 3D but I ****ing LOVE IMAX!

Dialog and character were largely inconsequential to the narrative. So he can't be compared.

It's all ok, Boom, because there was a shot of Bane holding a broken Batman mask. That makes everything ok

I'm deeply considering recording the footage because I have a feeling shots like these will be instantaneous and I'll have to rely on memory to relive them for the next 7 months. It's almost unbearable.

I'm saying he is Russian (not a convict though) based on his accent and dress, and he does capture Dr. Pavel who also just happens to be Russian.
