Just a few things.

It clearly was a slight concern to some, though those that heard some of his dialogue said it was creepy and intense. So that is good. But I'm going to doubt that no matter what the problem is, as red said if it was bad sound in the theater, or too much background sound (like the club scene in The Social Network) i'm sure what ever the problem is it will be fixed. I mean at the football field everyoen understood it, maybe this scene it is not crucial at all to understand what he is saying, and it was not the point. From what we gathered in Pittsburgh we will be able to understand him.

For this scene it is a question to as why, but with everyone questioning it, I'm sure Nolan will look in to it. I think some are too hung up on that.

What saddens me though is that some said when you can hear him it is awesome, so I'm sure it will be fixed or the rest of the film it won't be like that since there is loud airplanes in this. I will bet a million, that they will not make a film where you can't understand the guy at any given time.

I know that many make jokes about TDK's Bat voice, but I still with all the people I have shown whether they liked it or not, did understand what he is saying. Which with my other point, didn't Nolan post produce Bales voice in TDK for the bat voice? So people saying he won't mess with it....he already did for TDK. So I'm sure if he needs to fix some of it in TDKR they will.

Which brings me to the other point, I understand this complaint, it is a valid one, but I'm so sad on the Hype anymore that 99% of the rest of the descriptions and a 100% consensus is that Bane was creepy and intense, and that the entire sequence was jaw dropping and absolutely wonderful. Too bad we are not talking about the other 99% of the story and focusing on just ONE thing. But oh well.

I can't wait to see this even though it will be via bootleg. The footage sounds amazing. Bane sounding like a complete bad ass (minus you could not understand everything he said) but sounds like he is intense and will be one hell of a villain, but I expected no less from Tom.

It just seems outright stupid on Nolan's part if he doesn't care that we can't understand the main villain. He's smarter than that.

In TDK Batman wasnt understandable also sometimes.

For all we know it could be just in that one scene that we can't understand him and we haven't heard or seen anything yet we judge judge judge away.

If people couldn't understand Tom in the theater, a bootleg will probably be worse...

My IMAX is playing MI4 and since it's digital I'm curious to see the difference between digital and film. Hopefully it's not too big a difference.

Well a 70mm theater is almost twice the size of a digital screen. It's MASSIVE in comparison.

It has been shot in the daytime. Not at all what you might expect from a Christopher Nolan Batman movie

We are not expecting daytime scenes in a Nolan Batman flick? Has this guy seen TDK?

"Probably not. He has the mask on, the apparatus, and he has the accent. It's a tough one. He's incredibly hard to understand. Of course, the whole movie doesn't take place on a plane...This insures that you'll go back and see the movie a couple of times in the theater."
Nolan's dry response went right over his head.

People, this is clearly a joke. Do you think Nolan is being serious here?

I never had a problem understanding him.

Same here.

Thats one of the more grossly exaggerated claims. There's a difference between the tone of the voice not being towards ones liking and actually being able to make out what he's saying. People seem to mix the two.

The only part where it's hard to understand for me was when he tells him "You'll be in a padded cell forever" but that was understandable as he was dead tired. Everything else was understandable.

About that movieweb article...
I'm not sure I trust anyone who doesn't grasp the concept of of a 360 degree turn.
Maybe that's just me.

I never had a problem understanding him.

Yeah but people did.

I understand the people who are saying they didn't have a problem with Bale's voice in TDK but why do you keep mentioning you didn't have a problem?

People said they did...They did! One's ability to hear him does not mean everyone could hear him.

I personally could not understand the "hockey pads" line but that was the worst of it.

There are issues with the film's sound in the beginning, like what the hell did gordon say to Harvey in his office?

"ksnkjlbenefn I.A.A. rjwnrjwnrwnr" He's whispering the entire damn time.

Is it critical? No. But there were problems for people and you should acknowledge there were problems if a large portion of people are saying they didn't understand it. Unless you think they're lying for some reason.

Either way...So what at this point? We've been waiting for this for a while, people. I agree with Solidus' post.

Try to enjoy it before ripping it apart for every tiny flaw it has?

I love how people on the internet on telling Nolan how he shlould make his film :awesome:. It will either be fixed or Nolan made a creative choice to portray Bane as a monster similar to Frankenstein ....... He knows what he is doing

Except for, you know, WB saying the prologue doesn't feature the final sound mix and Nolan saying some lines will be cleaned up later on...

As long as he doesn't sound like an old man, I'm happy.

Can you cite this? If that's what they said, then I guess you're right.

So I'm assuming these comparisons to James Bond are referencing the pre-titles sequence of Moonraker? Or are they just saying it has a James Bond "feel" in general?

I still do not know whether he said Hockey pads or Hockey pants...

Edit - sorry Rag just saw you said this too.

Would anyone be opposed to subtitles for Bane?

As silly as that might seem it would be far more fustrating to not be able to understand half his dialogue.

I've always wondered if that was just me, but I'm glad someone else noticed that too.

Sounds good. Thanks!

Sounds like...
The man in the bodybag is to act as a double for the VIP when the wreckage is discovered and sought through by the appropriate higher authorities. The blood transfer could also be to support and make this look more believable, as it's likely DNA would be tested.

The whole 'Bane's operatives sacrificing themselves and going down with the plane' also sounds quite 'League of Assassins (Shadows)' too. Of course that sort of mentality can also be accustomed to all forms of terrorist organisations as well.

funny i thought of Moonraker too with a little bit of the opening of Goldeneye.
