7.09 - Gemini - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I think seasons 1 & 2 I was unspoiled for every ep. That was before I started reading SV forums.
Oh yeah, I meant B.F. too. (Before Forums) ;)

If you peek, and *YOU* think it's no big deal, could you PM me? I'd rather read the thread at that point and know ahead of time than wait another day only to find out it was something completely DUMB. I think that would piss me off more.

Okay, but my ideas of dumb and yours aren't always the same, ya know? :p
But I'll try. Nothing Clark related, or pivotal - got it.

Wait... so how could you be spoiled going into an episode before reading forums?

Did somebody you know see the episodes before they were broadcast or something? I used to watch Star Trek TNG that way. One of the av directors at the World Trade Center would get the satellite feed and then send tapes out to all the managers. I was privileged back then LOL. :D

Okay, but my ideas of dumb and yours aren't always the same, ya know? :p
Hahahaha! I knew you'd say that, which is why I provided examples. I think in terms of "great surprises" though, we're probably on the same page.

But I'll try. Nothing Clark related, or pivotal - got it.
Hee! The two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. :p

Here's a handy dandy chart:

Clark flying - that's dial 911 I can't breathe huge.
Clark turning out to be Kal-El, Bizarro or Brainiac in the ep - that's huge.
Lex discovering Clark's secret - even if he forgets it later - that's huge.
Lana covering up something and lying to Clark - mmmm... surprising, but not overly huge.
Martha back for a cameo? Cool, but not huge.
Lex with a new 33.1 facility? Yeah? And?
Oliver or other JL characters back? Meh. So?
Chloe still in love with Clark? What else is new?
Chloe and Jimmy anything? Pfft! Please.
Supergirl/Kara anything? Ugh....

That help? ;)

I wasn't. That's what I meant by 'before forums' I was unspoiled. LOL.. we are having a communication breakdown </ledzep> I think. ;)

LOL!!!! I'm losing it.

Oooo! I forgot one: any opening credit character dying (permanence not withstanding) - that's huge. So if Chloe pulls another morgue scene, I think I'd like to be surprised for that.

Give me enough time with this and I'll probably have all possible outcomes listed. LOL

This is the episode where a former foe returns per Craig @ K-site, however, he also says it's not Brainiac, so I'm gonna go with Bizarro. Makes more sense in light of the title, also. The pics of Tom in Persona are interesting because in those with Brainiac he is wearing the blue jacket and in those with Dax-Ur he is wearing the red one. The blue jacket in an episode would not necessarily indicate Bizarro but both the red and the blue in the same episode might. Maybe we find out in Persona that Clark in Gemini has been Bizarro all along. Just guessing here. Anyway, I'm excited about this episode.

I won't put anything past them, but Clark has worn both blue and red jackets in the same episode. As a matter of fact, he did as recently as the last ep, Blue:

But ya got me thinking. Even when Clark is depowered, he's always colorful:

Bizarro on the other hand, goes through phases, depending on where he is and what power level he's at.

Phantom, just before the fight w/ Clark:

Outside and weakened, after fighting Clark:

Inside and newly re-powered by Kryptonite:

Inside and frisky... err... still powered up LOL:

So, if the "twist" is Bizarro, I hope they drop a few clues. I love looking for this stuff.

Anyway, I'm excited about this episode.
Oh yeah, same here!!

BTW... If Welling had any more fun playing OOC, they'd have to tie him down. LOL

Hey, what if the whole thing is a proactive test by Clark on Lana? Basically, Clark is still Clark - no impersonation by Bizarro, Brainiac, MM or personality bending Kal-El angle. But Jor-El drops some hints to Clark at the FOS (at the end of Blue) and when Clark returns to Smallville, he's driven to see if it's true? Is Lana truly over trying to get even with Lex?

Okay, okay, I'm running out of ideas here. LOL

Where is everybody? Out doing holiday shopping or something? Avid, whereja go?

^Don't worry, you're not alone. ;)

Tonight is the night for Canadians, so for the ones of us who can't wait till tomorrow, the mystery about "the twist" will be revealed tonight!

Don't know about Avid but I'm baaaack! :hyper: AND I can hardly wait for tomorrow night. (I'm gonna do my best to stay away from this thread tonight but I may not be able to.)

LOL! Agreed. Interesting post on Bizarro's empowerment vs. depowerment! Snagged a few caps, too. So, thanks, Pat! (and I wouldn't dare post any of them as mine!!! :yay: ) I will be glad tho' when I can post attachments one of these days.

Well, I love me some proactive Clark and Lex did say that obsession is stronger than love. Just don't know if I agree with him. I mean he's not an expert in that category, either giving or receiving. I do think something's off with Clark and with all the spoilers saying that there are major twists in this episode we have to suspect that things are not what they seem. I also don't think it sounds like Clark to just say "Oh, well, Kara's gone." But maybe that's not how he says it; then again nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to inconsistency in characters. Maybe Avid is right and Clark is Clark. If that was what she meant. How 'bout it, Sue?

I cant say that I deliberately left you hanging. :hehe:

Okay..... so let's just think about it. Clark's been gone for like 3 weeks.... things were happening up there in the Fortress.

The best conclusion that we can come to with so little to go on, is that he was undergoing some kind of training. Right.

I know Craig said there was no Groundhog Day type of scenario going on, but what if the whole episode is some kind of training tool.

Maybe, maybe not.

And lets say that it is just a normal day in Smallville, what did Clark learn while he was in the FOS. This pro-active change in him wanting to go out for evidence could very well be the start of something BIG, like a change of career.

I'm only guessing of course, but the episode sounds like its pivotal in the storyline, and I dont think that bringing in Bizarro or Brainiac is going to assist that in any way.

I also think the Gemini side to the title will most likely have something to do with Julian.

Okay. You may be right on target but I'm not so sure on a couple of points. First off, I wasn't aware that we knew the amount of time Clark has been gone. Was that part of a spoiler or the Sprint clip? (Just curious on this one.)

Agreed; that would be the best conclusion, but something made me think he was being punished. I really hate the thought that Jor-El has to make him train. That's not what he went there for. He was concerned about Kara who Jor-El had told him to keep an eye on as part of his training.

That is a really nice thought!

ITA on this one.

I dont think that bringing in Bizarro or Brainiac is going to assist that in any way.

That I think remains to be seen. Brainiac was very pivotal to the storyline in season 5. If not Bizarro or Brainiac I'm curious as to who you do think the foe from the past is?

Well the Sprint clip seems to indicate that Clark's been gone for some time, I just guessed 3 weeks since that's about how long ago it was that we had the last episode.

Agreed; that would be the best conclusion, but something made me think he was being punished. I really hate the thought that Jor-El has to make him train. That's not what he went there for. He was concerned about Kara who Jor-El had told him to keep an eye on as part of his training.

Well Jor-el said there would be consequences and then we saw a flash of light consumming Clark. I dont believe Jor-el is forcing him to train, because Clark had already icommenced his training watching over Kara, willingly.

If not Bizarro or Brainiac I'm curious as to who you do think the foe from the past is?

Well it says an old foe. I dont think Bizarro has been around long enough for him to be referred to as an old foe and we've already seen the return of Brainiac just not in the form of James Marsters, which we wont be seeing until the next episode.

I could take a guess and say, Lionel could be the foe, but it really could be anyone. Someone out for revenge perhaps.

Work, then I took my parents car shopping.

A few of those salespeople are lucky I don't own guns, btw.

Those Biz caps are just what I needed to see right now, Pat. They make things ALL better. :D

I will be glad tho' when I can post attachments one of these days.

You can post pictures now if you want. You don't have to do them as attachments, just post the link from your image hosting site using the little picture icon above. :pal:

Honestly, that's what I'm really hoping for. I want to see a take-charge Clark whose no longer willing to let Lex get away with his shady research - especially when the latest research is so alien-focused.

Thanks, Serene. I wasn't aware of that. I don't have an image hosting site but I probably should get one. I haven't been collecting that long so I probably don't have as many pics as some but my collection is growing. It would be nice to be able to use pics as an explanation at times.

Holding him against his will seems like force to me. Clark willingly went to the FOS to begin training there at the beginning of the season. That's when Jor-El told him his training was to stay in Smallville and watch over Kara. When he went to Jor-El for help in finding Kara and confronted him on the discrepencies in his behavior he was chastised for not listening to Jor-El and immediately consumed in a flash of light. I agree with Clark that the Jor-El others have told Clark about acts very differently than the Jor-El in the FOS. That is obviously a thought the writers wanted to plant so maybe it has something to do with one of the twists coming up.

One way or another we will soon know!!!! Yea!!!!! These hiatuses are brutal.

Lana and Clark are working together to bring down Lex. He wants to see everything she ever got on him.

^ Zing79, you're watching right? Anything "bizarre" about Clark? What about the twist so far? ;)

And Chloe tells Jimmy she's a meteor freak finally. She uses her abilities to heal a cut on his finger to show him her specific ability -- without any tears. Jimmy embraces the uber Chloe (and technically accepts her) with some deep thought when she's not looking.

Crap. I thought the episode didn't air until 9pm ET. Hah! Oh well, I peeked. LOL [slaps self]

But if THAT is the twist, (the clone thing), maybe I should start *sighing* now? Jeeze.

Really? Is that ALL it is? Aw c'mon. :(
