7.16 - Descent - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

The episode Description was pretty clear on that

THE DAY CLARK AND LEX BECAME MORTAL ENEMIES — The secret of Veritas leads Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) in a dangerous direction that will put Clark (Tom Welling) and Lex in each others’ crosshairs.

I don't read the descriptions. I usually go into these episodes slightly blind

Dammit, I cant believe I missed this episode :(

Oh crap, I missed it! How was it?

They didn't show much. Just Kara and what looked like Zor-El. All I could tell is that the animation looks a lot better than the Oliver mobisodes.

Ok, thanks! I hope it comes online soon.

Quick question...

On 'Smallville', Lex Luthor HATES Clark Kent, that is now obvious...but is that the case in the COMICS or does Lex only hate Superman?? What are Lex's feelings on Clark in the comics universe.

I think he doesn't care about Clark. He's too insignificant to Lex for him to feel anything about Clark.

Yeah...Clark is just a bumbling reporter who is nowhere near as threatening to Lex as Lois Lane.

In the comics Lex Luthor only hates Clark because Lois Lane choose to marry Clark Kent instead of Lex Luthor .

As Lex says : For The life of me I still can't understand what Lois see in that Mild Mannered Reporter .

Althought since the latest crisis , Lex origin is more in tuned with Superman : Birthright & Smallville . In Which Lex & Clark are best friends in smallville . However they haven't really explored how Lex really feels about Clark since his youth in smallville .

whoever directed this epsiode should move to hollywood

because whole direction of episode was quite good and on same level as any big hollywood movie

that hack Dj cruso is doing well with movies like disturbia (he started with directing smallvill episode)

Check the thread about it. ;)

Can you change the title to Kara and the Chronicles of Krypton please?

Why didn't Chloe hide the key in her bra instead of her desk?

I thought the exact same thing as well.

But could someone please nutshell Lionel's message to Clark for me? I had to take a phone call from work as soon as he started speaking, and it pretty much lasted the exact amount of time of the message.

I mean, I saw it coming and yet....

still...I'm speechless.

:wow:

Oh, and I'm really hoping that the word "LexCorp" shows up pretty soon.

Ok... yeah, it was a great episode. One of the best of a dullish season.

I shed a few tears for Lionel. I can't believe he's really gone... :( I'm glad that Clark realized the truth.

But I think the episode had some weak moments...

Am I the only one who really didn't see the justification, or the motivation behind Lex's murderous act? He got the necklace. His father proposed what should have been an intriguing suggestion. But like Patty Swann's murder, killing Lionel NOW made little SENSE. Of all the times for Lex to be provoked into killing his father... I thought the set up for this was pretty weak.

Jimmy taking that photo was a coincidence that bordered on campy. He and Lois getting in trouble was classic I guess... didn't anyone tell him you should apply pressure to a bleeding wound?! But that whole story-line was made worth while when Clark burst in and warmed them up with his heat vision. Wow!

Chloe's lack of curiosity and concern about that envelope AND it's contents was unlike her. She didn't even think to tell Clark about it right away? And I don't believe that Clark would really have left Chloe ALONE without checking to see if her assailant was gone.

But it was an exciting and emotional episode.

And on that note... I wish I had a nickel for every-time I have said, "can Tom get any hotter?!" Apparently he can! Wow.

:cwink:
