A Superhero I invented

I'll try uploading some pics, their old and horrible, but they give you a better vision. I justh ave to find them.

Ill try and get some pictures of some of my characters on here later today as well.

does it cost anything to get your work copyrighted?

I made my own superhero long ago. He's an interesting character with one of those names you'd get from the Golden Age of comics (which is why I'm afraid that he's already been done) but anyways, his name is DINOMAN. I've altered his origin quite a bit.

It's a classic origin, as a kid, his parent are killed by a "ganglord" and the kid is thrown into "exile" for years as he grows up in the streets, turning his home into his "playground" like it's usually said. Anyways, he grows up, gets a job, and starts making money, but he still lives on the street. He dawns the costume and becomes "Dinoman". He swears vengeance on the man who killed his parents.

We soon find out that the name of the ganglord is "Bobo". (funny name) He originally had a design very similar to Kingpin, but then I changed it. He almost resembles "Nosferatu". He's big, fat, and has a hunched back. He begins waves of crime searching for Dinoman who has been taking out his henchman. Events lead to one another, and Dinoman and Bobo meet face to face. They duel, leaving Dinoman as the loser, and Bobo supposedly dead.

I've come up with other characters such as:

Dr.Lazer!
and
Frogger

Dr.Lazer: Scientist who develops a formula to turn him into a floating mass of electricity at will.

Frogger: Human who has been mutated into a frog due to radioactive incidents. He's dubbed the name Frogger, due to his many attacks on the streets.

There's a lot more, but that's just a little taste of it.

Why is he called Dinoman is he doesn't have dinosaur powers? Because everybody will ask that question.

Are you sure it's not supposed to be be Dynaman, as in Dynamite?

I figured this would come up, but yeah, he doesn't have powers, but he also has special additions which resmble that of a dinosaur. For instance, his gloves are tipped with claws (obviously) he has a concealed jet pack which allows him to fly, resembling a pterodactyl. There's many other things, he has the basics like guns and blades, but a lot of stuff define him as a dinosaur humanoid, hense DINOMAN. I've never really overlooked his abilities, but yeah, that's all I really have. I'll be coming up with more stuff as his story evolves, in my head anyways. We'll just see where it goes, I may even change his name, but wither way.

I don't see how it'll resemble a pterodactyl if he's flying using gas. If he had mechanical wings, maybe, then I could see it.

I'd go with Roegele and change it.

well a few of my friends and I are getting together on the weekend to write up some comics that we hope to sell at our local comic book store. it probably wont get very nfar but what the heck.

Yeah they sell them like any other comic there.

But how do I get every issue coprighted at the same time? send it all at once?

Sorry, I don't know much about copyrighting comic books, only novels.

I have finished the story of where Nightavenger takes on a gang. I also will be loading the newest sketch of Nightavenger on this site. Once you load it on this site it's officially copyrighted.

Lmao, it's not copyrighted. The date on the post will just provide proof should someone steal his work later.

I am not going to be uploading on this site. It's a different site. I found out about it in a email. Officially once you upload it on the site that I got from the email it's copyrighted.

It's not copyrighted until you get an official copyright.

Which you have to buy.

^ Mach, I don't think he was paying much attention to our posts.

But does the copyright belong to you?:ninja:

Spdrknight- He never pays attention to anyone.

Deviantart only offers protection due to the Poor Man's Copyright laws- which even by that law itself, is not an official copyright.

You have to PURCHASE the copyrights. Read the ****ing posts, GR.

I just found from a recent message that they are not involved in the copyright process. Looks like I will be sending a copy of the sketch all the way down to Washington D.C. after I fill out the paper work.

How about before you try wasting your money on copyrighting Nightavenger, how about you post the story on here and see the reactions before you do so. It would be a shame to waste money on a character that isn't going to be liked at all.

GR just won't listen to anyone.

He won't admit when someone else has proved him wrong either.

"I just found from a recent message."

*Shakes head in shame*.

I don't think just sending your sketch to D.C. will get your character copyrighted... his background story, history, traits, all that stuff will not be protected just by the sketch.

If you are looking into this, and are serious about your work, look into to the legal process of getting copyrights.

Im just waiting to see how people will react to my comic books before I actually copyright them. I hope to post them here soon and once I see a reaction (hopefully positive) then Ill send them all at once to be copyrighted but thats some time from now.
