After Nolan's BATMAN trilogy... - Part 1

As long as the villain brings to light the strengths of Batman, it could be "Calendar Man" for all I care.

Just do the movie so we can see Batman's detective skills, martial arts athleticism and quick-thinking. Some villains naturally elicit this from him better than others.

I'd like to see Mr. Freeze done justice on the big screen eventually.

I'm rewatching the show and I'm starting to think Batman Beyond would be a cool way to do a reboot. Straight up, with in a badass Blade Runner-esque future Gotham. They could retool it and do it with JGL's character, but I'd rather they set it in the far future with an elderly Wayne and Terry. It'll be different enough from the Batman that everyone's used to so we won't hear the same complaints as we did with Amazing Spider-Man, and would just be breathtaking if given to the right filmmaker.

I would love to see something like the "Hush" or Court of Cowls storyline done. Like many of you have said, we don't need anymore origins, by now everyone should know how Bruce Wayne came to be Batman, if not thats what wikipedia is for. I want to see batman already established, maybe have Damian as Robin, def have Nightwing as well as Batgirl (Barbara). theres so many possible ways to have a solid movie and keep with the fantasy elements of the book and not insult the comic fans with keeping out special characters.

Anybody else think that the general public knows Batman's rogues gallery enough that a Batman movie with several villains (Joker, Catwoman, Two-Face, Penguin, etc.), with no origins, can be produced? Kinda like the Arkham Asylum and Arkham City games... no origins needed... just have Batman in a story with several known villains.

That's exactly what I want to see. It's the best direction to take the reboot IMO.

Hey everyone.. my friends and I produced a Batman Beyond live-action short in three weeks for about $1000. Please check out the the video here. Thanks everyone!

I'm really leaning towards this direction the most.Ever since I heard about the rebooot I've always wanted an expirienced Batman,Dick Grayson already being Nightwing, Barbara Gordon as Oracle and an already deceased Jason Todd. A villain like Hush or Hugo Strange using Clayface to impersonate Jason in an attempt to destroy Bruce Wayne could be a very cool movie.

I know most people would likely disagree but I also think a movie based on the Court of Owls (minus the Lincoln March stuff) could be a great one too.

The reboot has so much potential. Clayface,Black Mask,Killer Croc.

I'm foaming at the mouth with the thought of it.

Arkham games for the tone, for a Nightwing movie starring JGL, leading to him becoming Batman at the end of it with a Beyond adapted suit. Barbara becomes the Oracle, Gordon stays commish. A new trilogy with a Catwoman prequel and im a happy man! Unpopular choice..but it'll make ME happy.

Delay JLA. Through the decade give us Man Of Steel movies, Wonder Woman, Flash. Next decade comes around, just in time for a JLA. Supes, WW, Flash plus debuting a new Bruce Wayne/Batman, a new Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter.

Batman movies start in the 2020's directly after Justice League. No origin story, quick flashes to parents death like 89/Forever. The inclusion of Superman, etc open the door for Batmans world. His movies can include Clayface, Man-Bat, Mad Hatter, new Joker with Harley, a Two-Face that lives throughout an entire film on a rampage, a short hair-cowl wearing-whip using Catwoman, Ras with his lazarus pit and literal immortality and the list goes on. More pure comic adaptations. Make it episodic. If my JGL centric trilogy uses the look of the Arkham games, then this reboot will actually have the "Arkham City" way of dealing with countless villains. Like a gauntlet for Batman to go through. A lot of it taking place inside the Asylum.

Like a film where Hugo Strange experiments on people, transforming them and unleashing them on Gotham and Batman has to round them up. Maybe Strange has something on Bruce, forcing him to deal with all of this. Dick Grayson with his circus origin gets taken in as a teenager. Court of Owls, whatever. A more serious take on the fantastical approach of Burtons movies or TAS or some of the Arkham elements. Just make them episodic with infinite possibilities.

In the meantime keep the people excited, the ones that are intrigued with nolans movies pushing forward through the eyes of JGL's character. It also gives people a break from the traditional Batman movies with Bruce and makes them want it more. When they debut the new Batman in a Justice League it'll make people go crazy. Even if they don't like the film it will launch into new solo flicks for a young Batman and the hype will be enormous.

I don't want any of the old cast in the new movie. Which strongly includes JGL.

Last night, an idea came to mind on how they could reinvent Freeze for the next Batman.

Instead of making Freeze the main villain, have him be a mysterious figure that lurks in the shadows. Kind of like how Scarecrow was portrayed in AA. Batman was after The Joker, but every now and then, Scarecrow would pop-up.

I had an idea of remaking Freeze as kind of a ghost. A myth talked about by the people of Gotham. We never really know who Freeze was, or what he is. He just appears, and vanishes.

One scene I though of had Batman in some rundown building, looking at clues from the big baddie of the film. (Idk who. Could be Riddler) When suddenly the lights go out, then turn back on, real dim.

Batman has a communicator with Alfred, and it suddenly goes dead. Batman hears raspy breathing. He looks around and can't see anybody. Suddenly, a figure darts down a corridor, in the blink of an eye. Batman chases after it.

Suddenly, a white hand touches Batman's shoulder. Batman is literally paralyzed with cold. A face whispers in Batman's ear. "Are you cold, Bruce?" Batman tries to move, but can't.

We see things from Batman's perspective. (Kind of like a FPS game) Freeze looks directly in Batman's face, looking like a ghost. His eyes are entirely black. Idk what he says, something menacing and crpytic. Freeze slowly walks in the distance and vanishes. (A cold mist is always at Freeze's feet) Batman passes out.

Later on, two thugs come on, and try to kill Batman. They begin beating him with pipes. Batman coughs up blood. They managed to break the ice which is freezing Batman internally. Batman proceeds to beat down the thugs, And resumes his work to catch the main villain. Throughout the movie, Batman comes across the aftermath of Freeze, and now and then faces him.

There is no way they will do a Batman Beyond film. Its way too niche.

I love that Mr.Freeze idea. I wanna hear some more of your ideas.

Thank you!

I was thinking more about it earlier, maybe Freeze can be one of Crane's test subjects for his fear toxin. Freeze hallucinated that he was on fire and jumped out a window, plummeting into an icy cold lake where he drowned. His spirit now roams Arkham. (Replace "rundown building" I mentioned earlier, and just make it Arkham.)

Instead of the 'wife trapped in ice' angle, have Freeze (Just named Victor prior to his death, no Fries or Freeze, keep his last name a mystery) wanting to get out of Arkham to return to his wife, and now his spirit restlessly searches for her, trapped in cold.

Add some sort of twist where Batman, searching for info on Victor, finds out that he was admitted to Arkham after murdering his wife, high on drugs at the time. Freeze doesn't remember that he murdered his wife and that's why he got locked up in Arkham in the first place.

I dunno, just throwing out random ideas here. I don't know how the entire movie would go. But Arkham Aslyum, Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow and Hugo Strange should all play big roles in the next Batman reboot.

For me I definitely want to see Clayface 1st, then Freeze done right, then Hugo Strange. Those would be my main villains for a new trilogy. A newer nastier Penguin along the lines of Arkham City too. I'm all for a new Riddler, but he's not as high up on my list of villains I most want to see.

The Dark Knight Trilogy had Ra's, Scarecrow, Joker, Two Face, Catwoman, Bane, and Talia as villains, thats 7, my 7 would be

Clayface, Mr Freeze, Hugo Strange, Penguin, Killer Croc, Joker and Harley

This is some great stuff, even if I think they should keep the Nora angle no matter what. Maybe have Scarecrow be the one who poisoned Nora, then Victor could have even more of a grudge against Crane.

What do you guys think about the Bruce Wayne:Murder? storyline? I mean I know they had a similar storyline in the Nolan series about Batman "murdering" Dent... but do you think its too similar to do that story in a movie?

I really don't wanna see a reboot yet. I'd like this timeline to continue.

Oh dear god no.
why is that such a bad thing? they can make money on 3-d and batman hasnt had a 3-d movie yet.it doesnt have to be corny like batman and robin it can be a good dark 3-d flick with a redone mr.freeze or clayface
