Agent Carter Agent Carter General Discussion Thread - Part 1

So ... whatever happened to the plans/formula for the exploding/imploding bomb?

I thought that the thieves had stolen the plans/formula for the bomb and then manufactured it at the Roxxon company. The nightclub owner/black market operator purchased the plans/formula (or a copy of them) and made the bombs. Peggy successfully deactivated the bomb she got from the nightclub owner's safe and destroyed the factory and the truck carrying all of the other bombs, but did she ever retrieve the plans/formula from the nightclub owner?

Or are we to assume that those plans/formula were destroyed in the Roxxon explosion/implosion? It seems that all of the other "stolen weapons" were found in the most recent episode, but I'm wondering whether the plans/formula is a deliberate loose thread or something I just missed.

I don't ever think it was covered where the plans were. I thought the same thing tho, Leet gave the buyer an envelope and he stuck it in his desk.

I love this show! Ep 3 was great, the investigation into how the tech was stolen was cool and I think they are doing a great job in building the relationship between Peggy and Jarvis.

I loved the scene where she saved him so blatantly by taking the lack of respect the guys in the office have for her, and turning it to her advantage.

Absolutely loving this show. Reminds me a lot of LA Noire, and feels like a televised version of that. It's so nice to have a Marvel show that feels 100% grounded, but with cool tech, like the original Iron Man. I'm kinda concerned that AoS is about to go off the rails with Inhumans, but that's another story...

Anyone else starting to lean towards Agent Carter over Agents of SHIELD? The quality, and scriptwriting, feels a step up in terms of quality right now

Definitely. It's already off to a strong start right out of the gate and is far more riveting and engaging. I could watch this just for the scenes between Peggy and Jarvis. Having two strong leads with great chemistry like that really makes a difference for the show.

Early season 1 AoS?? yeah this wins hands down

But I think AoS season 1.5 and 2 have been firing on all cylinders, and it's the superior show, imo

Random question: There is any chance to casting the young Trevor Slattery to a role in the Agent Carter? If it's possible, then how old is supposed to be?

Kingsley is 71. He'd be a toddler along with Hank Pym.

That's next year's show - Trevor Slattery: The Broadway Years

Yeah, that was slick.

Anyone else think that Peggy's new "small town gal" neighbor is the one that killed the cop and the thug? It was hard to be sure, but the killer looked like it might have been female and possibly blond. Plus I think the neighbor that Bridget Regan chick that fanboys always suggest for superheroine roles, so she's probably playing a character of some significance.

Yeah, that seems to be the running theory 'round here.

Late in posting this, but: this is a magnificent show. It is superior.to the first Cap film.

More than that it is my top Comic book show right now.

It's like I can never get a full week of television. There's always something missing from my schedule that isn't airing a particular week.

At least it's for a 'reasonable' reason, the President's State of the Union address. I'd rather have them take a week off for that rather than try and show an episode only to have it delayed in some areas, or interrupted, or pre-empted entirely due to coverage of whatever it is the President's going to say.

Are other shows not airing that week either that are normally on that day?

Looking at TVGuide.com for my local time zone, the four major networks (CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox) have the SOU lasting at least an hour and a half starting that first hour of primetime (NBC has 2 hours blocked out for it).

Flash and Supernatural on CW show as being new (but then, they don't show the SOU address anyways, and given the demographic they tend to skew towards, it probably won't affect them too much - or if it does, they don't really care). Masterchef Junior on Fox looks like it will be new after the SOU ends, same with Parks & Recreation on NBC. Looks like ABC will have a Blackish repeat on directly following the SOU and then a repeat of this last Agent Carter episode. CBS will have a Mike & Molly repeat followed by an NCIS repeat.

Other time zones might be scheduled slightly differently (I'm in the Mountain Time Zone), but I imagine it will at least be similar

It gives you the opportunity to get out of your house for a change. ;)

Not at that time of the night. I only ever watch TV just before bed, which is usually after midnight. I'm not going to suddenly go out then.

due to State of Union Address from Obama. Hence the two hour premiere.

Yeah, while it's a shame to lose a week, it's nice that we got to start with two hours. I also thought this was pretty obviously coming, so I wasn't taken by surprise.

I usually watch the State of the Union, but I think I'll probably watch Flash instead. Oh well, no big loss.
