Agent Carter Agent Carter General Discussion Thread - Part 1

So Hayley, what are you plotting? And what does #dhtamt mean?

...How's that possible? Unless the coming season is in the 60's

I would have liked to see Madame Masque (and The Ghost) appear in an IM film. But they don't seem to be making more of those for the foreseeable future, so this is a good second option.

I wonder if she'll end up being a sort of "Proto-MM?" Like Dottie ended up being a sort of "proto-BW." Not actually Whitney Frost/Nefaria, but a forerunner of her. Also, will MM end up being Dottie herself perhaps?

I hoped to see Masque cross paths with Iron Man too. She seems to be a Hedy Lamarr like actress here and different to the traditional version.

I thought before that Madeline Stowe would've made a good Whitney Frost and isn't too much older than RDJ and she still looks amazing for her age. She would've had the right kind of gravitas and intimidation factor. I think they'll get a younger actress now more similar to Haley's age.

Hedy Lamarr wasn't just an actress. She was also a brilliant scientist/inventor. I hope that they incorporate that fact into Masque's character on the show as well.

Anyone seen the Dubsmash between AC and AoS? omg...it was so funny and hayley was hot as hell.

I really wanted Madame Masque and The Ghost for IM3 when Shane Black talked about a Tom Clancy approach and corporate espionage. Still, it will be interesting to see how they use the character in Agent Carter and if she will be a forerunner to the Whitney Frost version, maybe developing the tech in this show.

yeah, i'm kinda bummed about Masque not showing up in a future (with or without RDJ) iron man film.. she's like his catwoman.

I'm wondering if they'll try to make Howard Stark take on Tony's role as far as the backstory goes.

Hayley Atwell is coming to Toronto for the Fan Expo. I am attending the convention so ...I hope I'll get her autograph :)

First day Agent Carter season 2 prep

I'm not a fan of them using Madame Masque either. She'd make for a great villain in a future IM film, so I disapprove. I hope at the very least they create their own version, but I'm not counting on it.

There probably won't be another IM film for the foreseeable future. And there's been enough "just keep waiting, we'll get to it eventually, maybe" on Marvel's part when it comes to this issue. So this is a decent option #2. Besides, there's nothing to stop them from using a "modern version" of MM down the road.

I like the idea of Madame Masque as the main villain of Season 2. She's a fascinating character and a powerful antagonist who would give Peggy a nice challenge. I also think it's cool to give her a background similar to Hedy Lamarr, which works well with the '40s-era Hollywood setting they're going for.

I also don't think it matters that Masque is usually associated with Iron Man. There's a lot of room for flexibility in MCU adaptations. After all, Blizzard and Blacklash, both traditional Iron Man villains, were instead used as villains on Agents of SHIELD, and they were both used well. Likewise, Season 1 of Agent Carter used Doctor Faustus, who is traditionally a Captain America villain, but he worked quite well as the main villain of Season 1.

I love that Madame Masque is being used! Let's be honest, when was she going to be used in the Iron Man series? Probably pretty far down the list, but here, she can be well showcased!

(I love that James is holding/cradling Chloe's dog throughout the entire video... at least, I'm pretty sure that's hers, it looks like the same dog she posts pictures of on instagram)

Edit: Just adding additional information. Here's the 'official site' for this (at Crowdrise.com)

So what it looks like is (for Round 1) SHIELD will post their video first on September 2nd, Agent Carter will respond with their video on September 9th - I imagine "voting" (by donating towards your favorite) will open after AC's video goes up on the 9th? And then they'll do round 2, then round 3.
