I loved these episodes so much. Peggy is so charming and witty along with being a badass. I got a kick out of seeing her in disguise as well.

We know that Peggy will see Steve again, but the sad thing is that they will never have that dance.

Imo, the first episode had its good moments but it also had it bad moments....The constant throwback to Cap was just too repetive. The directing was terrible. The writing started out good but then it got too fumbled and confusing. Now watching the seconde episode....

I agree that they should have dialed back a bit on the Cap1 references but I can't agree with the rest.

? There was nothing confusing about the show...

It was confusing because on that scene of the nightclub there was not one but two guys who were after the nitro thingy. Those guys belong to the same organization but we later found out that one of them isn't leaviathan anymore. No explanations. Just this.
And all this ends with an sadistic attitude of agent carter to a man who's an idiot and a cryptic remark by jarvis suggesting that he and stark are double playin' agent carter....

The second episode is just dull. For a comic book show there were few comic book moments. What a letdown.

^ I don't see how that's confusing at all. It's a typical "spy story" narrative trope, and is also present in classic Noir storytelling as well.

I agree... and regardless of it being 1 hr long episode or 2 back to back, they were a complete story together and needed each other as a whole to complete. Im not sure why he thinks one episode is different than the other

Kevin Feige was in the editing room on AGENT CARTER. This show will be Marvel Studios on TV, not another Marvel TV show.

I wonder if this is the Leviathan that they are alluding too:

I wouldn't be surprised because of the heavy Secret Warriors influence on AOS.

And I loved that the assassin Leet Brannis was an obscure comic book villain from one issue of All Winners in 1942.

Leviathan was a Russian Hydra, basically. Meanwhile, we have a Russian scientist working with Stark who betrays him at some point and tries to sell his tech to America's Cold War enemies.

Also...I mentioned in another comment that the symbol looked like the symbol for Aries. In the comics...guess who was instrumental in the founding of Leviathan and Hydra/SHIELD? That's right...ARIES. he formed the Great Wheel, to share stuff between groups...then the Russians betrayed him and formed Leviathan and Hydra/SHIELD formed as well. Obviously, it can't be the exact same story as the comics...but I think that Leviathan has formed (obviously), Aries is working against them for his own reasons (maybe something to do with the Zodiac Cartel...because...you know...the Zodiac serum was in the One Shot).

EDITED TO SAY: Looking at the drawing the guy made in the dirt...it really doesn't look as much like the Aries symbol as I first thought (the squiggly line looks deliberate, the "horns" aren't as pronounced)...so maybe there is a Serpent Society link or something...but for the moment, I'm sticking with Zodiac. Also, in Agents of SHIELD, Blake asked May if she is a Scorpio...and it seemed like such a forced conversation that it seemed like they were hinting at it.

Do you guys think that this series will influence and elevate the importance of Peggy Carter from the Marvel comics? Seems to me that Marvel has an untapped well of materials that they can work with, about the formation of the SHIELD organization, with Peggy Carter and Howard Stark being the leading characters in the story.

This was the best pilot for a comic book show that I have ever seen. I totally loved it. Peggy is a fantastic lead. Normally in a pilot, I'm cringing half the time and thinking "It will get better later. " But this show opened with a bang.
Ditto

I think it's the worst thing Marvel has produced...its weird how people can see things so different...but I guess everyone has their own tastes.

I guess that's why it has a perfect 100% on RT with an 8/10 avg.

Just watched it and I thought it was EXCELLENT

Reminds me of the first season of Angel a little bit. Has that sort of film noir, old school style.

Atwell was fantastic.

Enjoyed both episodes, can anyone explain where this fits on the time line, I assume it's pre the 1 shot???

was the first name of Ray Wises character ever mentioned? Does he play Hugh Jones or his father?

We know that Peggy will see Steve again, but the sad thing is that they will never have that dance.

In a way, I feel like this series kind of makes their relationship come off even more tragic than it already is. Prior to this show, we never really saw on how Peggy spent her life after Steve was presumed dead for 70 years...(well not including the Agent Carter short that is).

Plus, by fleshing out this already great character, it makes it more sad to think that Steve really missed the catch of a lifetime.lol

I didn't log in last night to say it, but I really enjoyed those two episodes. Now I kind of wish they were airing them all in 2-hour chunks! Looking forward to seeing how this gains steam over the next few weeks.

Did you see the end of the One-Shot? It ends with her joining Howard to run the new SHIELD.

EDIT: Didn't see that Talisman beat me to it. But yeah, there's no way that already happened here.
Yeah, we have a way to go or actual SHIELD comes in now that I think about it.
Thing is, I swear somewhere I read the one-shot took place a year after Steve went missing.
Maybe this does happen after the one-shot because she's meeting Howard
