Not wishing to start up the "is it magic or science?" debate again, but I'm not sure I like Fitz being able to so easily repair Sif's muzzle collar. I had similar reservations about Shield building that rifle from leftover Destroyer parts.
it didn't bother me too much, though I think it depends on how badly it was damaged by the bullet. I mean, if the thing were completely broken into two or more pieces (which I don't think it was), then yeah... I might've had a problem with him fixing it. But it seemed like it was minor enough damage (but perhaps more than Warrior Sif knew how to fix) that Fitz was able to find a Midgardian solution to patch it up.

I could even accept it being not a perfect patch and it simply having to hold until they got her back to Asgard and could get her fitted with a new one?

Just my opinion (that probably doesn't make sense)

On another note, I thought Asgardians were overall impervious to bullets, so why was Sif using a shield to block herself from it? Unless, she doesn't know that she's impervious to it.

My go-to theory: Asgardian warriors are not used to facing opponents who *can't* hurt them, so they are trained to block and dodge where possible.

Awesome episode.

Great to finally have an MCUs characters' powers officially explained as sorcery. I believe it's the first time in MCU history, not counting Dark World's deleted Frigga scene.

Not so. I Thor1 Hogun specifically describes Loki as a master of magic.

That's generally my theory as well. I mean, prior to Thor's banishment in the first Thor film, it sounded like it had probably been a while since Asgardians had actually visited Earth. So not being completely familiar with the variety of modern fire-arms/bullets and what they can/can't do to them - I imagine it's better to be safe than sorry?

Yeah they try to dodge out of instinct learned over thousands of years of battle
But I absolutely loved that Sif took that shotgun blast without so much as flinching

And you haven't broken up?

Nah.... just kidding.

lol, it was close, how dare my midgardian girlfriend interrupt a god!

The double standard is astounding it was still rape... I guess Ward was "asking for it then?" because he is "that kinda guy" he's a hoe bag anyways, so it's okay that she raped him

If you reversed the genders no one would be saying this

Frankly I'm getting tired of these accusations.

NO ONE has said that it is okay that Lorelei raped Ward. ZERO people have said that raping a man is okay.

I have repeatedly called it rape and called it wrong...and then everyone responding to me has said something to the effect of "if it were against a woman you'd call it rape"

Women are raped all the time in movies, tv shows etc. It is not something we protest because the rapes aren't really happening. Most of us understand that the rapes are part of a fictional story. I'm not angry when a character on Law and Order: SVU gets raped...I simply watch and see how the story plays out. Ward was seduced by magic to do something he would not have otherwise done...and we have NO FREAKING CLUE how that story will play out! Have you never seen this show before??? If not, let me fill you in...they have scenes in episodes that later come back around and prove to be important. Ward in particular has had things happen to him that APPEAR to be building up inside him...his rage "infection" being the one most explored. He's also expressed guilt over certain things...and as we saw in this latest episode...he has become so ineffective as an agent, that when a dangerous villain was face to face with him, he was unable to pull the trigger and ended up allowing himself to become captured. We've seen previous instances as well where his libido/emotions has caused him to do things that a SHIELD agent wouldn't do.

Again, ZERO people are excusing what Lorelei did to Ward. However, most of us are willing to see where this story takes us rather than pass judgment on the show itself before the story has had a chance to play itself out. Trust me, there are shows on tv with A LOT more rape going on than this one...so if you want to get upset over a fictional rape, protest those shows first.

Favorite Sif line was definitely the "Philip, Son of Coul" part. :hehe:
I believe I said earlier that I would love it if we got her saying "Son of Coul" at least once, and when she did it... I swear I geeked out just a bit :funny: that moniker is just one of those things that I absolutely loved in the first Thor film, that an Asgardian hearing the "son" at the end of a name resulting in an assumption that they must be the son of (in this case) Coul. So hearing it again, showing it's a consistent thing with Asgardians, I just loved.

Another favorite line, just in general, in the episode was also the "How was Tahiti?" "It sucked."

Pretty much ditto here, yes - at the very beginning of that bit when we hear her listening in I had a brief thought of "Oh crap, what IF she's working for the Clairvoyant!" but then when she started reporting her 'log' and the way she phrased it, I was like "Dang, she's reporting to Fury on Coulson!"

You've got to wonder about May's motives, though. She knows Coulson isn't supposed to find out the truth. Then, she lets him find his way to the very base where he is *bound* to find out the truth. Then, she tells Coulson that he should tell Skye the truth, too. Then, when Coulson tells Skye the truth, too, May goes and tattle-tales on his ass. "OMG Nick, Phil has totally found out the truth and stuff! I mean, no way, amirite...?"

This was one of the best episodes to date. The story was briskly paced and had a ton of action. Jaimie Alexander was terrific as Sif once again. She brings exactly the right mix of strength and warmth to the character. Elena Satine was also great as Lorelei, and she really seemed to have a lot of fun with the role. I enjoyed all of Sif's interactions with Coulson's team, and I liked how the writers made sure to refer back to Sif's role in the first Thor movie. I also like how they made sure to mention that Thor had told Sif that Coulson had been killed by Loki, so that she was surprised when she found Coulson still alive.

You know I got the feeling Rooster wasn't exactly a history major.

Yeah, I was laughing and shaking my head when he claimed that Franklin had been president. He's obviously not someone to consult on American history. But the dialogue worked well in the context of the scene nevertheless. :D

Not trying to nit pick but come on! These are freakin agents. "To heck with our code".........really?! In real life, if they went against their commanding officer, they'd be on the firing squad..............I just don't believe Colson would be so quick to go against SHIELD with him being so high of an agent because he knows the protocols. Just saying. :o

I'm sure I forgot one

No, actually I think you got them all! Well done. I really liked that scene, and like a lot of other people, I was delighted when she mentioned the Kree by name. I had believed (and hoped) that the blue alien body Coulson discovered in the Guest House was a Kree.

But wouldn't Coulson & Skye have needed to be of alien origin for the Kree blood/serum to have worked in the first place? One or the other is either Inhuman or Kree or they could both be Kree or Inhuman.

In addition to all the fun with the Asgardians in this episode, the writers managed to add a lot of expansion on Coulson's story and Skye's story, linking their arcs together because they have both been healed through mysterious alien methods. It gives us a lot to think about for the next few episodes. Coulson sounded extremely ticked off at the end.

And it looks like May has been keeping tabs on Coulson all along regarding his search for the truth about his resurrection, most likely on Fury's orders. I wonder what she and Fury will do next now that they know that Coulson his stumbled onto the truth and is really freakin' mad.

Possibly. It's hard to know for sure at this point because we don't know what kind of effect Kree blood/serum would have on a normal human being. Remember, Simmons claimed that she and Fitz only understood about 70 percent of the science involved in the alien methods of healing/resurrection. And they're both scientific geniuses! So until they learn more about how Kree serum affects humans, anything's possible.

This episode really made me want to see an Asgardian spinoff show.
Marvels tales of Asgard.
Like Game of Thrones in the Marvel universe.

I also see why there was as such a big rally to get Jamie Alexander to play Wonder Woman.

Really good episode. I was jazzed to see Sif. This is how I want the show to be. I hope we get some more Asgardians and more costumed heroes/villains on the show in the future.

I just have one question. Was Sif talking about Thor when she was speaking to May about understanding how she feels when Ward was possessed? Is that something that happened in the comics? On a side note, I was surprised they really played up the unrequited angle with Sif. They sort of stayed away from that in the Thor movies, so it was surprising to hear about it so much in this episode.

Again, I really liked this episode. I hope we get more like it in the future. I wonder where Fury is?

They stayed away from it in the Thor movies because they didn't spend much time at all on Sif. There are a few moments in Thor: The Dark World where it is clear that Sif has the hots for Thor and isn't necessarily thrilled with Jane. This episode gave Sif more time than a typical Thor movie can because in this she was the guest STAR whereas in Thor she is a bit player in a massive cast.
