Or Coulson caps him before he can hail.

That would be good ... kinda of in the spirit of (CA:TWS) with Falcon's frustration with Crossbones rant: "Man just shut up."

Finally watched it :) Great episode!

Really glad we're starting to peel back the layers of HYDRA's plotting, and the revelation that Centipede is a head of HYDRA, while not entirely unexpected, was a welcome confirmation. Garrett as the Clairvoyant clearly rattled Flowers, so will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Ward being loyal to Garrett was also nicely played, and I really hope they run with it. Him turning on Garrett because he's in wuv would be so terribly cliche...

Best performance from Clark Gregg so far. His impassioned plea that SHIELD must stand for something almost brought me to tears. His world has fallen apart, and he will rebuild it no matter what. His belief in Fury was fantastic, and I loved that his faith was repaid. Plus points for a great cameo from Patton Oswalt too :)

"Hail Hydra"

"Quit it Kaminsky you look like a cheerleader at a West Texas pep rally."

SO MUCH GOOD DIALOGUE! Episode was full of memorable moments like this, the writers have really got their heads in the game now, and are writing Garrett especially so well!

One minor problem I had - the Fridge seems awfully undefended for a small HYDRA unit to break in and raid it. It's basically the armoury and brig for SHIELD...

Anyway, can't wait for next week :woot:

It seemed like a fast 45 minutes this week. The SHIELD logo already appeared when Skye let Ward in, and I thought "has the episode finished already?"

There should be no doubt now that Ward is a villain. He was saying many of the same things that the writers were saying on how to engender trust within the team - eg dive out of a plane to save Simmons, seduce May etc. Ward is much more interesting as a villain, and I hope that even if he is found out (which he probably will be) that he actually survives and sticks around for another season at least. There's no need to kill off every villain. Having one that has a history with the team makes it much more personal, and we can see him as a real person (even though much of it was an illusion) because we actually followed some of his adventures for the last 17 episodes.

If Ward is not evil, then that would be incredibly lame.

I'm guessing we'll see Graviton showing up in the near future. But he really needs some superheroes to take him down. Even if someone like Thor showed up, he isn't enough by himself. Graviton held 10 Avengers at bay in the comics.

I rewound the episode when that happened because I was certain I must have fallen asleep during it. Such a quick 45mins!

even, the Marvel Universe is an ucronia, is all different after the Howard Stark's technology. The worlds balances are different. We don't know if, in the history, there were significant changes (like Watchmen, you know).

Nato can have an huge army, satellite, weapons of mass destruction. Ossetia exist. Malta is a nation with a special rules were no intelligence agency can stand. Marvel world is not the real world. debate on a pair of satellites is futile XD

:argh: Dang, I knew that ground floor deal I got on Stark Industries stock prices was too good to be true. :)

Saw this last Tuesday just haven't had a chance to come and comment.
Loved the episode.
Raina confirmed to possess some kind of special ability :awesome:
Ward is definitely bad and has been working for Garrett all along. I'm glad they cleared this up quickly. No more doubt on the 3ple agent angle. I'm happy with evil Ward. There is more to it than simple loyalty to Garrett tho. There's something Garrett's promised him.. maybe help his little brother, who's been brain damaged because of the well incident? Maybe help hunting down his psychotic older brother? Either way I look forward to it being explored. Also, what were Raina's motivations, other than being brainwashed by that machine, she was also promised something... Good stuff.

What made you think Raina has powers? I always thought she might have some persuasion powers... maybe Garrett helped him to 'take care' of this elder brother

they showed Ward holding the berserker (sp) stick, and looking like he wanted to keep it... but never showed it again. I wonder if he wanted that power again

I want to know where he hid it while carrying it out of there.

On second thought, maybe I don't.

I don't think he would've had to "hide" it at all --- Garrett had pretty much told all of them to smash 'n' grab and take everything they could.

Transfer the Berseker energy to some construction workers and their tools, and arise the Wrecking Crew!

Hide in the sense that we didn't see him with it after that shot. twas a joke. Oy.

That would be odd. The staff messing with him seemed very real. We saw the memories playing in his head, and the first time it happened was when he was with an unknown thief (later revealed to be Randolph) and he'd have no reason to fake anything because Skye was nowhere near him.

The staff being unpleasant to him seemed geniune, although he was holding it with gloves so maybe he was just taking it for someone else's use.

Patton Oswalt as the keeper of the "Providence" base was very refreshing and a comfort to watch. It was getting very depressing and heavy for our home team with the events of the last episode. I am going to be very sad if Patton's character does not survive the remaining episodes of this first season. I'd love for him to at least have the possibility to return.

Finally watched the episode today (yeah, I'm late), and it's another incredible episode. AOS has finally found its footing and hitting on all cylinders, and even making past episodes more interesting and relevant. Agent Grant has been nothing but amazing after he turned Hydra, and I really hope he won't turn good at the end and undo all the great things he has done. Hopefully the series will be renewed for second season.

Garrett confirmed she has special abilities in the comment he made after he shows her the vials he took from the Guest House.

This only just aired in the UK. A quieter episode of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. tonight than last week's showstopper, but maintaining this clear sense of forward momentum for the show. I love where they're going with this, how you get this sense of the battle lines being drawn and both S.H.I.E.L.D. and the bad guys building up their respective forces. It manages to put the faffing about of the early episodes into fresh focus. It may have taken a while to really find its footing, but now everything seems to be falling into place.
