Oh I see. Thanks.

Now since when is Ward in love with Skye ? God I hope they don't start with this whole romance crap on the show.
May told Coulson she and Ward had been "TOGETHER" back in the episode where they were getting info on Skye being an 0-8-4

Don't know if this has been discussed a lot already in the Thor threads, but has Loki completely taken over Odin's role and stashed him away somewhere? Or was he only impersonating Odin for that small scene at the end of Thor and has now disappeared, while the real Odin still rules as normal in Asgard? If the latter, then it could be the real Odin who ordered Sif to bring back Lorelei and not Loki impersonating Odin - in which case Loki doesn't have any plans for her.

I'm inclined to believe that Loki was only impersonating Odin in that one scene and isn't continuously impersonating him while Odin is indisposed. Why would Loki be doing that the whole time? He probably just engages in that illusion every now and then, just like he impersonated Sif or Captain America while talking to Thor.
We have talked about Odin/Loki a few times and can't really decide where Odin REALLY disappeared, and WHO was involved.

I think Heimdal teleported Odin and his men somewhere and is using some spell or Asgardian tech to make him self LOOK like Odin, in order to keep Odin safe from Malekith and was part of Thor's plan meaning "it would be the highest Treason" came from.

The issue isn't the sex or even if someone would enjoy it. It's that if a male Asgardian showed up and had magically induced sex with Simmons, the freaking Internet would have exploded by now. Absolute double standard, and a truly disturbing one.

Of course feminist do a good job at policing entertainment and everything else to assure themselves they're making progress.

So it's not rape if the attacker is attractive, got it

You tell that to the judge bud.
I made it abundantly clear what I was saying in a joking way and concerning me, but please go on getting offended about something so insignificant.

Male rape does NOT involve the victim getting a hard-on. At all. Not to get into X-rated territory here, but there's lots of ways you can force a man into non-consensual sex acts that don't even remotely involve an erection. Ask any man who's been to prison.

... I realize this but I was contemplating the dynamics of a man raped by a woman. Unless it is completely about abject humiliation and domination I can't see one using her tool kit to achieve her goods, and perhaps that is how male rape by woman is perpetrated but regardless I was speaking of the seemingly more enjoyable fictitious version of rape that involves penetrative sex on the offender.

Gahhhhhh! Damn you, Gunn! :argh: This is like trying to explain a joke: you take away the actual "power" of the wordplay when you try to define it. The "illegal manipulation of Gramosian duchess" works MUCH better if there's no explanation given at all, and it's left to your imagination.

The exact reason why we couldn't be left to use our imagination is because of the very people that would have gotten up in arms about a 'rape joke' being made and would have proceeded to try and hurt the movie.

Very good episode and the show has really hit it's stride. I hoped it would turn out this well when I first started watching but I didn't really think they'd manage to do it until the second season.

I don't think it's idiotic at all. I think it's plausible that he could've just impersonated him for that scene just to hear what Thor had to say about his dead brother. It would've given him great delight and he could've scoffed to himself secretly later on. It fits with Loki's character.

Hasn't he impersonated various people from time to time? And so have other comic characters as well (eg the Chameleon, Mystique etc). Doesn't always mean that the person they're impersonating is dead or kidnapped at that point. Maybe they're only assuming their identity temporarily for a particular purpose (eg to gain information, to fool someone for whatever reason etc).

And if it isn't Loki, then that changes the whole reason for why Odin would want Lorelei back. If it is actually Odin, then it's purely to retrieve her, but if it's Loki, maybe they're setting her and Amora up for Thor 3.

It doesn't make sense for Loki to impersonate Odin without having taken his father out of the picture. If he just did it to talk to Thor, then Odin would both send for Thor telling him to resume his duties (he wouldn't know that Thor has relinquished his claim on the throne) and he would find out that someone has been impersonating him, making it quite likely that he would suspect that Loki is alive. I'm quite sure Loki doesn't want anyone to even think that he's alive since that vastly increases the risk of him being caught and imprisoned again.

Can somebody jot down the aliens Sif listed??

the girlfriend was talking at me while Sif was speaking... :cmad:

I missed part of that too but I was at the College and it was noisey. I can later tonite After seeing it again, and again. lol

Interdites
Kree
Levians
Pheragots
Sarks
Centaurians
Frost Giants

I'm sure I forgot one

I would say that the alien is down to Kree or Frost Giant, and I would say Kree would have the biggest implication.

Awesome episode.

Great to finally have an MCUs characters' powers officially explained as sorcery. I believe it's the first time in MCU history, not counting Dark World's deleted Frigga scene.

Weird that so many assumed May was in cahoots with the Clairvoyant. I felt it was pretty clear she'd been assigned to keep tabs on Coulson for Fury

I agree. I first thought about the Clairvoyant when she picked up the phone after listening in but when she said what she said it felt like she's clearly keeping an eye on Coulson for S.H.I.E.L.D.

I feel the same.
I think May is portraying a role similar to what Quake was doing for Fury in EMH. She's his inside person keeping him informed while he's in hiding figuring things out and prepping for the ****storm that's coming.

Pretty much ditto here, yes - at the very beginning of that bit when we hear her listening in I had a brief thought of "Oh crap, what IF she's working for the Clairvoyant!" but then when she started reporting her 'log' and the way she phrased it, I was like "Dang, she's reporting to Fury on Coulson!"

Awesome episode. I loved seeing Sif again. It's always good to see jaimie Alexander. I hope she'll have another cameo soon. The show could use more super powered characters.

Not wishing to start up the "is it magic or science?" debate again, but I'm not sure I like Fitz being able to so easily repair Sif's muzzle collar. I had similar reservations about Shield building that rifle from leftover Destroyer parts.

I'd sat rule out frost giant. For one when Sif mentioned them Coulson breezed over it and asked if the other aliens on the list ever visited earth. Second, back in the EP 14 thread there's some great stills of the frost giants from Thor... They have bone ridges on their heads and chest. Lastly the frost giants lead the show to a dead end where as the Kree lead into Guardians and further movies

I think S.H.I.E.L.D.'s reason for having Agent May keep tabs on Coulson will have some sort of unexpected reason, judging by the clip in the "Assembling a Universe" promo where May is saying something like "Coulson, it's not what you think." whilst pointing a gun at him. When I saw that, I immediately thought of the surveillance that May is doing. EDIT: It's obviously got something to do with Fury really not wanting Phil to find out what they did to him. (Too late for that! lol) If you look back at earlier episodes, May seems to be particularly interested in consoling Coulson at various times, which is obviously a move to find out how much he knows.

I definitely think she was reporting directly to Fury in the tag scene though. She's not like a Centipede mole or anything, I'd say.
