Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off Show In The Works

G'day,

Kate is a teenager not a young child. See below. She can certainly take on adults.

I know you have hit girl but it's a bit unrealistic on tv for a very young girl to beat up fully grown men.

AoS is absolutely a good show. Sure, it started off a little slow, but it steadily got better, and it really hit its stride this past season. Season 2 was really good. It hasn't hurt the Marvel brand at all -- on the contrary, people I've talked to recently who have watched the show have all had positive things to say about it.

Don't know anything about her. Was just going off what the other poster said. An 18 year old would be fine.

Rotten Tomatoes isn't as focused on television as it is film, but they do look at reviews for shows. AoS has a very high score. Even breaking it into separate seasons, the much maligned first season is certified fresh. The reception has been mostly positive. Reviews aren't everything, of course, but the audience scores are also good. The show has a good rating on Netflix, it's done respectable numbers for a network comic based show, etc.

Basically, it's inaccurate to claim the show is definitively bad.

Not a fan of SHIELD or Carter but I'll give this new show a shot. Still, I'd love to see an actual costumed Marvel hero show on TV.

I'm not that fond of the title "Marvel's Most Wanted."

They could've called it "Mockingbird" instead.

And will it be ever referred to as "Most Wanted"? But that doesn't really work on its own as a title like Agent Carter or Agents of SHIELD might. In this case, it almost permanently needs the "Marvel's" bit, otherwise it sounds really bland on its own.

like Daredevil?
I love Daredevil, but that isn't on TV. It's on Netflix. I like Netflix and the binge watching format, but there's something to be said about the excitement of waiting for a new episode of Flash every week. The only Marvel shows on TV are ones I don't like.

I just don't understand the point of having three spy-themed Marvel shows on the same network.

But, like I said, I'll give this new show a shot too. I try every Marvel or DC show; so far I've stuck with all of them but Gotham, Carter, and SHIELD.

funny, since those 3 are the only CB shows worth watching atm. IMO all three are extremely superior to the 90210 rip offs that are on CW

Yeah after that billion+$$$ that Age of Ultron raked in it looks like they're hurtin' real bad.

Yellow Cyclone is not the first resident of the internet to believe that his opinions of something are shared by everyone else. :cwink:

Wholeheartedly disagree with you in relation to the DC TV shows.

Arrow and The Flash are not "90210 with superpowers". They are honest to goodness proper superhero TV shows the way superhero TV shows should be done.

It is a little early to criticising the title when we don't even know what the show is about. There maybe a very good reason why Mockingbird doesn't work as a title for this.

If the show is the summer equivalent of Agent Carter I'm hoping that the shooting schedule allows for Palicki and Blood to remain on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or at least on the majority of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes.

As to Gotham ... just woeful. It is like someone wanted to make a Batman TV show but was embarrassed by the idea of costumed superheroes.

wasn't Marvel's Most Wanted offend a Thunderbolts tag?

Holy ****!

So... Is their spinoff going to be the MCU version of the Thunderbolts?

That sounds like something I'd want to see.

That storyline is rooted pretty deep within a lot of comic's mythology. It would be tough to bring that to life even with major tweaks.

I'm betting the title just sounded good and that's why they chose to use it, much like "Age of Ultron". It has nothing to do with the comic story it's tied to.

I have Flash, Daredevil, and iZombie occupying a tier all to themselves. Constantine, Arrow, and Powers are on the next tier while SHIELD, Carter, and Gotham are on the bottom.

I'm way hyped for Jessica Jones, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow.

I don't think it would be a straight adaption, or even related to that story, but I still think it's very likely that it could be a Thunderbolts series. Especially since Marvel is undoubtedly wanting to find a way to differentiate this series from Agents of SHIELD.

I'll definitely check this new show out. A summer show from Marvel would be very cool. Hopefully the writers will be creative and find ways to differentiate it from AoS.

One advantage of these live-action TV shows is that Marvel fans get the chance to see some of their favorite characters adapted for live action who might not have had a chance of appearing in the movies. It's unclear whether Mockingbird would ever have appeared in any movies, so it's great that AoS took the initiative to adapt her as part of the show. Mockingbird was one of the best parts of Season 2, and I'd love to see what they do with her going forward.

This is also true of villains. The TV shows have given us Marvel fans the chance to see some of our favorite smaller-scale Marvel villains who probably would never have made it to the big screen. I loved how AoS used villains like Absorbing Man and Mr. Hyde, and I liked how Agent Carter gave us Doctor Faustus and the original Black Widow. Hopefully a new show like this can adapt some other smaller-scale Marvel villains for Bobbi and Hunter to fight.

There is no need for 3 Marvel shows about SHIELD agents running around.

My hope is that this is happening because AoS is fully embracing the Secret Warriors concept and will basically be a superhero show, leaving a hole for something a bit more grounded. Otherwise, it feels wrong to pull two of the best characters off of the show.

Oh...and give Mockingbird some white in her dang costume. This is a universe that tells me that a guy can turn into a green hulking monster while a demi-god from another dimension throws an unliftable hammer...and yet it's considered too weird for a character to wear an outfit with a block of white in the middle.

G'day,

At this stage there's no reason to assume she will be a SHIELD agent. She seemed to want to leave SHIELD at the end of Season 2 .

In the comics:

" After being injured in her work she received a commendation by then S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury, who used her information to expose dozens of subversives within S.H.I.E.L.D. Resigning from S.H.I.E.L.D., Mockingbird was hired to investigate Cross Technological Enterprises (CTE), where she clashed with security director Hawkeye."

I suspect we could be getting free lance Bobbi & Lance.

Which character are you referring to?

I'm saying that if Agents becomes a full-fledged superhero show, then there would be a hole in the universe...you know, the more grounded spy adventures that SHIELD was originally envisioned to be. If Mockingbird and Hunter went their own way, they could fill that hole, but the antagonistic romance would be a bit different than the original AoS.

I kinda hope this show is a non-agent show...heck they can be bounty hunters or something. Just something to give them a different angle than agents for a secret agency.

Thought Mocking bird was still in pilot stage tho. Even if it is called Most Wanted from MY understanding the show is just a pilot not a confirmed tv show yet

It is just a pilot, but I'm still hoping for a summer filler.
