From a casting choice, I want to say no. But the more I think of it, the better the idea sounds to me from a writing perspective. It would provide May some good character development and closure over Bahrain, it would explain why the creators opted to show the events of Bahrain now and not before or saved for the future (yes, it helped established the foundation for May's loyalty to Coulson but we already knew that she was loyal), and would make for a good climax should May find herself in the same position as before; faced with the same conflict she had before.

Anyone think we'll see

Fury return to reclaim the toolbox soon? Didn't like how easily Coulson gave it up, and with Fury restarting some sort of program in AoU, it would make sense to use Coulson as an arm of SHIELD 3.0

Really didn't like how Coulson just handed the box over. This NuSHIELD story is tiresome

In re: Katya.

I've realized that it's not established that May shot her in the head, so she may have shot her in the heart, and that increases the chances that Katya survived.
Still, the previous considerations still apply. Also, Jiaying and Gordon no longer pursued the matter. One would expect them to check whether Katya was dead, and take action if she wasn't.

That feels really forced to bring her back though

I liked the little tie-in they did in AoU. Would have been better to see Coulson but I like what they did since I felt rewarded as a loyal Marvel fanboy that tunes into all things MCU

Disappointed in Whedon's comments. Why would he want to undermine the show like that? I get that Whedon is tired and ready to leave Marvel, IMHO it was a poor thing for him to say.

I hope they'll have a convincing reason as to why Coulson and his group doesn't simply
join the Avengers Academy that they've established at the end of AOU.

It seems like Fury devoted his remaining resources into merging the Avengers with the remaining remnants of SHIELD (the way it should have been as Rogers worded it) into creating what we got at the end.

We honestly probably won't. But at the same time, they really can't come up with good reasons why individual heroes don't turn up in other heroes individual movies. We all know the real reason it doesn't happen (it would cost wayyyy to much money), but in terms of the universe, there's no good reason why we don't see crossover all the time.

I think it's just something we're going to have to accept. At this point, I'm hoping that we see RDJ at least turn up on the show so we can have a moment of an Avenger realizing Phil is alive. I get why they don't have time to do that in a film, but hopefully they can work out something on the show.

I can honestly buy why some Avengers don't show up in other films or why others don't seek out the help from their Avengers' comrades.

But having a show about an organization that's been officially labeled from the Cinematic Films as "Gone", where we now have an new organization that fits the mold of what guys like Rogers and Coulson had envisioned SHIELD to be all about, it just doesn't make sense.

It'd be like creating a show about a group of soldiers who decided to take up arms against Hydra back in World War 2 without having made any effort to join Cap's group instead.

A bit of a dick move from Whedon and Marvel Studios not to have Coulson and his crew involved in the [BLACKOUT]helicarrier business[/BLACKOUT] at the end. Unfortunately, as many of us speculated, it does seem that Marvel Studios basically don't consider the TV shows to be part of "their" universe. :( I really hope this changes going forward. The second season of AOS-thus-far, Agent Carter and Daredevil have all been somewhere between very good and exceptional. They don't deserve to be relegated to "fan fic" status.

I really don't buy the whole "the Avengers knowing of Coulson's resurrection would place a whole lot of narrative strain on the MCU" nonsense. Two throwaway lines is all it would've taken. Re-introducing Coulson would come out of nowhere... but Thor's [BLACKOUT]acid-trippin'-magic-pool[/BLACKOUT] is a-OK. *rolls eyes pretty hard*

Stark: "Coulson??? It appears I'm still hallucinating. We sure the witch is still on our side?"
Fury: "Long story, Stark."
Coulson: "Awkward."

THAT'S ALL IT WOULD TAKE!

agreed.

heard there is going to be an alternative ending and extended cut when aou comes out on blue ray. This could all be some marketing gimick for that or its the stupid kind of office politics that ****s up a good thing.

Agents of Shield and Daredevil are officially in the mcu, people need to stop overreacting about Whedon who isn't in charge of the mcu.

Maybe the finale is a series finale?
I hope not, but is there any confirmation that it will be renewed?

ABC will be announcing renewals in about another week or so. I doubt the season finale is planned to be a series finale.

Plus, the show is likely to survive so it can stand alongside the Mockingbird/Lance Hunter spinoff.

True. Plus, the Civil War storyline seems like something that would be perfect to have tie-ins with AOS (especially with how things have been going this season so far with SHIELD and nu!SHIELD)

Even if ratings aren't the best, SHIELD is still an optimal marketing tool for Disney/Marvel to promote the MCU films thru having certain aspects of the movie plot run through the show's storylines.

G'day,

I have been saying for some time we will see the MCU's equivalent of the Terrigen Bomb maybe thats it.

Sneak #2 for 2.20

Whatever is in the hold sounds Inhumany . Possibly the diviners or maybe Fury has weaponized a Terrigen bomb without realizing it - you can see why an army of Katyas would not be a good thing.

.And they are now officially the Inhumans then ?

Gonzales's carrier potentially confirmed as being THE Helicarrier:

I think the biggest news there isn't the quote, it's that the quote is coming from Kevin Feige. That definitely got me excited. It's certainly something that isn't necessary to enjoy the movie, but would enhance your enjoyment.

I've used comic book analogies before and I'm surprised how well they work. If Avengers: Age of Ultron is the main event comic, Agents of SHIELD is a tie-in that helps explain things: like the Fantastic Four Civil War tie-in explaining why the prisoner escort down the streets of New York mysteriously fell apart (something to do with Puppet Master, I don't really remember).

Indeed, we WERE needing it after so much disheartening from feeling all this #itsallconnected affected only the TV parts of the MCU.

A few random things...

1. I wish that the Agents had been able to get List. He was useless in Avengers, so the team should have been given a final victory over someone who debuted in a movie (even if it was someone useless).
2. I wish that the Inhumans were calling Daisy by her real name. I want her to transition to her real name.

Gonzales's carrier is the Iliad, right? While I'm skeptical of the speculation, I do want to point out that I read the first SHIELD comic issue by Mark Waid and there's a Helicarrier in that called the Iliad.
