Found an interview on the New York Post's website - haven't seen it before so don't yell at me too much if it's already posted.
Here's the link: http://www.nypost.com/entertainment/movies/news/n9178.htm
Here are some snippets:

HW: Are you under a contract option to appear in any future Spider-Man films?
AM: Well, there is a legal option for Spider-Man 3 or 4, but the chances are, it seems unlikely, given Doctor Octopus’s style of demise.
HW: Still, dead is never always dead in comic books. Have you looked at the comics recently to see if there’s a way to bring Doc Ock back?
AM: Not really. I was always quite a fan of the comic books when I was younger, but I don’t sort of read them now. But if I get a call, I’ll be the first one to say, ""Yeah!""

hehe

"Don't follow me"

I love that line

I like this one

Doc Ock: You're getting on my nerves
Spiderman: I have a knack for that
Doc Ock: Not anymore (proceeds to crush Spidey's head)

Let's be productive here...

"You have to work hard... Intelligence is not a gift; it's a priviledge, and you have to use that intelligence for the good of mankind"

We really don't need to see him again. He did what he did in the film and doesn't need to add to the chaos that is 3.

I agree that he would be adding too much to 3. Though I would like to see him return in a later film if they decided to go with The Sinister Six or perhaps have a cameo where he's imprisoned in Ravencroft (I think that's the place).

Yes, we really need to see him again, not in SM3, but SM4. No dream sequence either, flesh and blood.

I knew there was a reason Ock's "demise" wasn't that clear. He'll be back.

They don't dig into the floor, they wear down from grinding on the floor.

I loved that whole sequence in the hospital, just the camera angles and everything, reminds me why I fell in love with Raimi's work. I hope he returns to horror one day.

Anyway, it's cool about Ock, I agree he shouldn't be in 3, it's crowded enough as it is. But an eventual return would be more than welcome .

This is bull****. He's dead. Its over. Ambiguous death my ass. Jean in X2 is an ambiguous death. Doc Ock is a definite death.

Spider-man 4: The return of Doctor Octopus

;)

It'd be nice to see him in a future film, not being controlled by tentacles.

if we're comparing, i think it'd be more accurate to say:
green goblin = definite death (funeral/dead body)
doc ock = ambiguous death (no body, no decapitation or anything that would really prevent him from being alive)
if david blaine can be resurrected from drowning, surely doc ock can

It was lenoleum tiles covering the floor of the operating room, so when the nurse was dragged across the floor at a high rate of speed she was scraping up some of the lenoleum covering on the tiles.

Any return from Alfred Molina,be it a cameo or a main role, would be very welcomed by me

As for his "death",seeing him sink into the water does not mean dead. Not even close. It was one of the most open "demises" I've ever seen.No blood,no declaration of death,he didn't get his head severed off or something like that,he simply went down into the river with the fusion reactor.

Ock was damn popular in SM-2.Box office proves that.No reason he shouldn't come back. And Molina told Raimi and Arad he'd love to come back.

We saw his freaking body. Case closed.

Did you think that Gandalf died for sure at the end of Fellowship of the Rings?
did YOU see his body and take his pulse? honestly, you saw him sink in the water with his eyes open...no decapitation, no massive impailments...chances are that IF they want to bring him back they can have the scene continue where he sinks and then the tentacles come back to life and walk him along the seabed - he could be completely controlled by them now since he owes them his life and was unconscious long enough to suffer brain damage
this COULD mean we COULD see a very demented Doc Ock..evil, unsympathetic and very much alive.
