Alfred Molina willing to return as Doc Ock

Yeah if Doc Ock returns he will probably have henchmen to help him out. Maybe the Sinister Six or not, Spidey just needs a few more bad guys to take down in the movies, so a few disposable henchmen that work with Doc Ock would fit the bill.

true - this could give a good reason to have "smaller" villains like boomerang, scorpion, or rhino...just hired thugs that are either employed by Ock or dependent on him to provide them with something...maybe getting the suit off of scorpion is a condition of him getting spider-man for ock...just theories
hey sony i want a job with you guys, i'll brainstorm all day long

Any return from Alfred Molina,be it a cameo or a main role, would be very welcomed by me

As for his "death",seeing him sink into the water does not mean dead. Not even close. It was one of the most open "demises" I've ever seen.No blood,no declaration of death,he didn't get his head severed off or something like that,he simply went down into the river with the fusion reactor.

Ock was damn popular in SM-2.Box office proves that.No reason he shouldn't come back. And Molina told Raimi and Arad he'd love to come back.

agreed, a return for Ock in 4 scheming his way back into power this time fully in control of his tentacles would be awesome:up:

The reason why his demise wasn't that clear is that there is no way Marvel will let Raimi go ahead and kill one of their most famous villains.

It would be like having Lex Luthor die in a Superman movie

I think they should end the franchise with a scene (maybe after Peter and MJs wedding) where Peter sees a report on TV about Dr. Octopus and 5 other supervillains (Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, Elektro, Mysterio) have teamed up (Sinister 6) to rob a bank or something and he has to bail out on his honeymoon with MJ to swing off into the sunset to save the day.

doc ock is evil, why did they make him nice. i mean even green goblin couldve been nice. doc ock is sadistic, heartless a$$. I mean he tries to marry spidey's aunt. thats not nice because hes going to do like they say in anchorman "take her out to a seafood dinner, have a wonderful time, and then never call her again." doc ock, should he come back, needs to be twisted and deranged, im talking joker deranged. i dunno, thats just me

i'm telling ya if/when he returns his brain damage from being underwater will make him loopy and nuts and his tentacles can short out his brains and help him go nuts, too...it'd be great to see him step out of the shadows at the end of SM3 - or bust the villains that spidey has captured out of jail saying something like "i'm rounding up 5 other than me to take out spider-man" and end the film

The only way i can see him returning is in some sort of flashback or dream sequence.

that's pretty much the only way that i DON'T see them having him return
it would be a waste of a good actor and no real plot point, IMO

^dafoe in the 2nd one, he's a good actor, had a 5 sec cameo

that was neither a flashback nor a dream - more of a hallucination
but it served a purpose, to propel Harry into his hatred for not just spider-man, but his friend Peter, thus possibly making him go evil
Doc Ock doesn't have anyone that would dream of him for any purpose other than to just remember - there is no Baby Ock or Ock Junior or OctoWoman that would have a dream about him for any reason, OTHER than to maybe have a premonition of his actual return
that's my reasoning and i'm sticking to it
if he comes back it's full-on ock, alive and crazy

Weren't Conners and him good friends? Couldn't he come back for a flashback/dream type thing like that? Or something with Oscorp (before the accident)?

If They're going to bring him back alive they need to come up with a seriously good explanation of how he could have survived electrocution and drowning.

nope, he's comming back as Baby-Ock........... that would be sweet!!!:)

ock would be awesome again, but i doubt we'll see him back for a while yet...mabye like spiderman 5, if it goes that far

That's why I think that they would continue the scene from the end of SM2 - in a similar way of how we see Gandalf didn't actually die in Fellowship of the Rings, but the extended fall sequence from Two Towers shows what happened next.
We could have the shot of Doc Ock sinking with the "dead" gaze from the end of SM2 and then he suddenly jerks awake and we see the tentacles drag him to safety or find some underwater pipe/air supply of some sort to hide out in. Hmm, I'm thinking along the lines of the Penguin's lair in Batman Returns, but not as hokey.
Then Otto owes his life to the tentacles and is also brain damaged. He seeks out Connors just when Connors is experimenting on his arm and recruits him promising a cure if he joins his "sinister six". Yeah I can see it working nicely.

I could see Connors being the only one to have visions of Ock, since they were friends...but they'd really have to bring him back to show why Connors was seeing things, I think at least. Like he thought he was having visions but he really was seeing Otto or something...maybe the tentacles become telepathic...hmm maybe not.

The Tentacles Thirsted for the Fusion energy, it was their purpose

upon drifting into the river the fusion reaction is still going and slowly undoing

Doctor Octopus was seen drifting onto the reaction, maybe they can recharge the tentacles >_>

it takes a long time for a human to drown, minutes wise

but he is in fact dead, but it is possble he's not

i don't get why this thread was resurrected.

I don't see any reason why Doc Ock should have brain damage or be off the wall crazy like some people have said. He's a brilliant mastermind, who craves power. If anything, showing his return we could get him in control of his tenticles, and have him plotting for world domination because his career is unsalvageable. We saw him sinking in the water for like 15 seconds. It's VERY possible that he could have woke up and got out of there while peter was distracted with mary jane and stuff.

syncos he was eletrocuted, and among other things. Doc Ock is dead, he got his redemption in the end of spider-man 2. Anything else would take away from all that. Raimi wanted that, and had him die at the end.

He got electrocuted, and then magically got the strength to get up and lift a giant mini-sun off of metal support beams with his mechanical arms to drown it.

Did you know people can (in reality) be struck by lightning and survive? just sayin =)

but we specifically saw the red lights in his tentacles turn off, signifying that they died along with Ock.

he's gone.

the electrocution sort of let him go back to normal but that didn't kill him from what i remember
just for argument's sake, jean grey died after finally controlling her powers long enough to save her friends in X2 but they totally undid everything she stood for in X3...not saying that's the way they should handle Ock, but it can be done

With good enough writting, He could be explained to come back.
- Maybe the displacement of water from the micro-sun washed Ock to shore.
- Maybe his tenticles used what was left of it's energy to save him.
- Maybe Hydroman was chillin on the beach when he saw his buddy Otto in trouble so he (in classic baywatch style) ran to save the day ! ^.^

good enough writing? try imaginative writing. it would be a waste of time for him to come back.
