True but for every rational critic there's 5 non-rational ones, making statements like "MoS ends with a 30 minute fight" which is just plain untrue. Or "Superman isn't smiling in BvS" which nobody can say for sure yet. Or "this film is too dark, like MoS" when the color palette is clearly bright in the daylight scenes.
I mean, all of those are not without merit, but you're welcome to disagree. I haven't said those things (though I've said plenty of OTHER critical things), but just to play devil's advocate - The fight at the end of MoS is overlong and excessive to MANY people. Nothing irrational about that. Superman is straight-up scowling in almost all the promo from this movie. Obviously it's not the whole movie but that's how they're choosing to sell Superman in this film and people are allowed to be critical of that, as it doesn't match up with the image a lot of people have in their minds or hope to see with the character of Superman. And yes, there's color in the daylight scenes but it's still a dim/cool palette even in the brightest moments.

Dismissing criticisms you disagree with as "irrational" just because you disagree does not help the arguments either.

oh hey, it's jokes. while you aren't that funny, you are funny to laugh at... at least. :o
Oh come on now! Give him a chance to grow on you a bit. Then like any growth, just have it surgically removed permanently :hehe:

There's another prequel comic (at least I think it's a prequel since he looks like he's wearing the MOS suit in one of the photos)

1. Saying the final fight is excessive is not the same as saying it's 30 minutes when it's barely 10. My problem is with the latter, not the former. It is indeed irrational to straight up lie and hyperbolize to make a point.

2. Saying Superman is scowling/serioous in everything we've seen of BvS is not saying that he is not smiliing in BvS. The first is accurate, the second is an assumption, unless you're a mind reader or an insider who's seen the film. Assumptions are indeed irrational; they are a logical fallacy.

3. Saying the color palatte for BvS isn't as bright as you'd like is not the same as saying "it has no color". The first is a valid opinion, the second is just plain untrue and you are irrationally avoiding facts if you say it.

As I said, I have NO PROBLEM with critics. I'd never say someone is irrational just for not agreeing with me. But there's not agreeing and then there's just plain making stuff up as you go. I don't truck with the lies and hyperbole.

So, I know a lot of you, like me, will be skipping this in 3D. Unfortunately, that most likely means no IMAX. Given the rumors of possible 70mm showings, would that be the next best option?

I'm not sure if 3D has gotten better or if I'm just warming up to it, but I know I'll see this in 3D opening day.
We don't have any IMAX theaters near my town unfortunately, just Carmike's "Big D" experience. Yes, that's the real name.

there may be some hyperbole on your end as well regarding actual comments made. you might be exaggerating opinions of others at times. or maybe 1 person says it in an exaggerated way but you assert that's how everyone else with a negative opinion some something views things :o

So the problem you have is not with the arguments themselves, but with the hyperbole in the wording, I take it? Because it's pretty easy to deduce what people mean when they say these things. Hyperbole is the language of Fanboy Nation. Both the positive and negative camps use it on a regular basis. It doesn't mean their criticisms or praise hold no merit.

70mm will be IMAX. So if it happens, it is THE best option, imo.

I'm a sucker for 3D films (unless it's clash of the titans) so an IMAX 3D showing is how i'm going to watch BvS.
