No, in that context, more than any other, it has ALWAYS meant "executioner" as in executing criminals. *Every single time anyone in history has ever used the phrase "Judge, Jury, and Executioner," it has meant that.

If Roven is meaning anything other than that, then this would be the **first time in the history of the English language that someone has done so, and in doing so, so inaccurately used those words.

judge, jury, and executioner has certainly been a phrase that has been used to refer to simply punishment and not killing.

It is not exclusively referring to killing. Granted, the general phrase should be "judge, jury, and executor", but that's really the way in which the phrase is used. You're being too literal about it. And if you're going to be literal about it, then why not complain about Batman being a literal judge? Why not complain about him being a literal jury? Seems to me like certain people just need some reason to decry this movie, and will look to anything to do that.

To help you understand what Roven means, gdw, he's basically saying that, instead of taking these criminals to the police and having them go through the criminal justice system, Batman is deeming them guilty and taking it upon himself to punish them (beating them down and then branding them) instead of letting the system try, convict, and punish them.

First off, nowhere have I said he WILL kill in this film. All I've done is pointed out the actual words said by someone actually in the production. Hell of a lot more weight and credibility to those words, than fanboys fantasizing that they KNOW the events of a film they've never seen.

I've also said that it's very likely he misspoke, or meant it as essentially Batman doing all but killing criminals. But to argue that the words don't mean what they mean is intellectually dishonest, and insulting.

look, gdw. I understand the meaning of the word. Yes, the word Executioner only refers to a person executing a death sentence on someone. But the phrase is one that's used to refer to more than just that. Again, you're being way too literal with a phrase that is used quite generally. Good point. Being "executioner" might refer to his extreme response to Superman, in which he quite literally is trying to kill him. So, take that for what you will. See, gdw? You might be right after all.

IMO, Batman has killed '90s Joker and Twoface (I think he died in that giant Riddler contraption) and in BB with Ras. He did instruct Gordon to blow the tracks. He did rig the train to not stop.

It's the same as Superman killing Zod and company in II.

Exactly. The same result can be achieved using any color, so if there was a lot of blue/green in the scene and there weren't any human characters, they can use red for chroma keying.

Think they'll add something digitally? But we've already seen it in the trailer, granted in latest trailer it did look like there was something on it, like it's screen of a kind, while in earlier it was pure red... anyway, for some reason, it really baffles me.
