Can't say Gibson's demeanor strikes me as someone interested in making the film.

We shall see.

I think he didn't want to say something that'd get blown out of proportion which is the new black on the Internet. The bit about elevating the concept sounded good to me though. If he can take a popcorn movie concept like Squad and give it a good plot with a lot of heart then that's good enough for me. The cast got a great handle on their characters last time so that's the least of my worries.

And he did an excellent job, but forgot to put some cringy, non-funny jokes, so he's suddenly a bad writer.

Also character development. Faithfulness and respect to the source material, there's also that insanely overly-convoluted plan with Eisendork. The E-Mail scene was horrendous too.

But yes, once again, it's because of the "lack of teh jokes!!!"

The only valid criticism here is the e-mail scene. Lack of character development ? False. Lack of respect and faithfulness to the source material ? Can you be more wrong ?

No, he is right on all three points. Especially the latter two.

I'd drop words like "valid" and "right" and stick to more subjective terms, as this is a matter of opinion and not fact.

As for me, in my opinion, I agree with Angel0fDeath that character development was not a problem. Faithfulness and respect for the source material is neither here nor there when it comes to evaluating quality storytelling in terms of the craft of writing. Beyond that, if the story critiques certain out of character (i.e. unfaithful) actions and attitudes or provides existential challenges to characters in order to develop and ultimately validate their characters' "canonical" form, then, to me, the work and narrative as a whole isn't disrespectful.

That's just my opinion, though.

I kind of get what he's saying. Me personally I thought BvS had bad characterizations of Superman, Luthor, and to a lesser extent even Batman.

I also thought Superman as a character regressed from Man of Steel.

Oh man that is terrible reporting from Jett. Once again he makes assumptions based on his wants. That is pure non news. That guy doesn't know anything.

I believe it, never thought Reeves' people would use press as leverage over money, and the Wan report jives with the new direction starting in 2018 rumors as well as him wanting to walk earlier.

Well Ive heard it was over money because Fox offered him more to do he next Apes than WBs were offering him to do Batman. Jett might not be wrong in that it wasn't all about money but as usual he reaches for the reasons why based on his own wants and needs. All I'm saying is for a guy who claims to know his stuff cause he has a pic with Chris Nolan take it with a grain of salt.

Those rumours about Wan came out and then he tweeted they were BS pretty much straight away.

Yeah and which and may appear in JL.... will PM for those who who wish to know....

Abin Sur
is due to be the GL character for Justice League according to some reports tonight.

Assuming that's true, it makes perfect sense with the impending threat.

Agree with this.

Jett was first to report Batman had been delayed. He has some good sources. The Wan tweet was after WB finally ceded control to him after the backlash of the 2016 films and persistent rumors of similar issues with the 2017 slate. WB seems to encourage this behavior to help ease public concern such as the Affleck tweet to Reeves after the bizarre non mention of him in the official press release.
