All Things DCEU News, Discussion, and Speculation - Part 2

I just said that the latest rumors are we are getting a MOS2 and Batman in 2019.

So you did, sorry, I'm just 'sick and tired' of people (that's a general statement, aimed at no one in particular reference), literally 'sucking' any positivity out of any news we receive or purposely looking for negativity within a released statement or narrative within the framework of the DCEU, people are simply wanting to not like the DCEU for any reason of production, or its intent to progress. Okay if you don't like what you've seen so far, fair enough, if it's not your cup of tea then go ahead and find fault and list how and what you'd change/adapt/delete, but I wholly wish people would stop looking for every pore with hate filled bile of how or what WB are doing wrong in their planning, have ANY of us worked at a film studio ? The closest I've come is making a feature film and it takes b***ocks, time and courage to do it and WB for me are showing all those things, so what's say we leave them to get on with it and stop telling them how to do their job ?

Very well put sir

Given that the DCEU has been a fail three times in a row for many people, it's only natural they are skeptical about WB and their planning.

I don't think a film for a company getting delayed two months is anything to be skeptical about. It happens with films all the time due to scheduling or a variety of reasons. If it had been moved 6-12 months then fair enough I can see why but 2 months I don't think so.

December's the more attractive release window anyway. Sucks to wait, but it really isn't that much longer. Certainly better than the delays for both MOS and BvS, which were distressingly agonizing.

They've got a tad more time for post-production which never hurts. Should open bigger on this date, if they market it right.

We're not talking generalizations with movies though. We're talking specifically about WB and the DCEU, hence the the skepticism. Given that BvS and MOS had delays, it's only natural people's skepticism kicks in for a delay, any delay. It's been earned in this franchise.

Technically? Aquaman was moved twice. Original date was July 27, 2018. Then October 5, 2018. Now December 21, 2018. So that's 5 months.

I get there are sometimes it's warranted but not with a two month delay. That's just people reaching or looking for a reason.

Well if we want to get technical about release dates then Man of Steel was never moved because it was never officially given the December date which WB would never have given it when they already had the Hobbit coming out.

In regards to Aquaman filming starting and the release date Aquaman has been given a two month delay which is most likely because they want to release it at a better time for it to make the most money.

This is exactly my point raised above on this page. The semantics of a release date within a calendar year ? Really...

The October and December 2018 months don't seem too busy. Unless they wanted to remove Aquaman so it doesn't interfere with WB's Jungle Book.

Han Solo movie is a May 2018 release.

Ahh right, tbh if I were Star Wars I'd have stuck to Christmas releases. I kinda liked it actually, made Christmas even more exciting lol

Jungle Book?

Tell you what is coming out in Oct 2018 the new Halloween, while those films never make a major fortune they usually have a killer opening weekend so that could take a chunk out of Aquaman's box office run. Probably not an issue but October is horror month.

I could be wrong, but from the past couple of years it feels like most horror films come out in months that aren't October. It's become a bit of a deadzone.

Don't we usually get 1 or 2 still though? Maybe it been a dead month is what's making them move it.

So WBs is doing a Jungle Book even though Disney did one?

Jeeze people go watch another movie or better yet read a book or travel. One DC film next year isn't the end of the world. Isn't this the kind of speculation Mangold talked about hating?
But I would like to thank whoever got us on this topic and away from that never ending debate that was happening about 6 pages back.

just means you can't do the may the 4th gags anymore.... (equally, May the 25th doesn't work as a joke, so....), December it is !!!

marvel movies have failed for me for a long ass time, and that series is still going strong, there hasn't been a single one that i've watched more than once since...ironman 1?

Now with spider-man going back for re-shoots I have to expect the worse for that too.

See how ridiculous this sounds? Civil War is arguably one of the best story lines from the comics, and it didn't even do better than the avengers 2, who the hell even knew who Ultron was before the movie? Yet everyone knew who captain america and ironman were.

/end satire.

So tired of reading some of the posts on here and the ridiculousness. It's not even a discussion its just proving negativity wrong.

October has been a successful month for tentpole films like Gravity and The Martian as well as more adult films like Gone Girl. I think Jungle Book sounds interesting though it's been delayed twice due to WB not having a good slot for it and post production is a little bit longer than expected.

WB has two big films in September with Scooby Doo which is an all animated film from Warner Animation Group and A Star is Born, I am sort of surprised they've not swapped Jungle Book with Scooby Doo since it would play really well on Halloween but i guess WB want to distance it from The Grinch which comes out in November.

Oh man! That wait for the next DC movie after Justice League is going to suck! A whole year :( Marvel fanboys are so lucky they are spoiled with multiple movies a year

TBH a year and a bit isn't that bad, there was exactly a year's gap between The Avengers and Iron Man 3 and the gap between MOS and BvS was just under three years so it's not that big a deal.
