Django was the s**t. That's mah movie. If it was a song, it would be my jam.

Okay gotta do all my homework tomorrow! If you see me posting make sure you tell me to get off the hype because I gotta finish all my work in order to go see this movie with power cosmic on Tuesday :)

A random person's opinion is a big deal and worth discussion? Never thought I'd see that on the Hype...

Django and Avengers were both better than TDKR, so that's fine. Haven't seen Les Mis yet.

Yeah, I agree with her that Avengers is better than TDKR. Haven't seen Django or Les Mis though.

Why is this a big deal? Her tastes are obviously very different from people here. All one needs do is check out "Made in Hollywood"'s website.

Henry Cavill BlackTreeMedia interview.

but see. comparing a movie like Les Mis to Avengers or TDKR is kind of hard........

it's a totally different type of movie.

I enjoyed Les Mis more than TDKR, Avengers, Hobbit, Brave, etc. Les Mis affected me on an emotional level that none of those other films did. so, for me, it was "better."

but, is it really better, better?? I can't really judge that, and it's hard to compare it to those other films because it's like comparing apples and oranges.

I'd have to compare Les Mis to another musical movie, like Phantom. and in that case, I think I'll always like Phantom better because the story and music appeal to me more.

When I view a film, I usually get a sense of what the filmmakers were looking to achieve (which can vary between genres), and I base a good portion of my judgment on whether or not I feel they were successful in reaching that goal. It's not so much about apples vs oranges for me.

Ever watch those food competitions where you have amateur chefs prepare dishes for professionals? Well, the professionals already have a strong idea as to how the dishes served by the contestants should ideally look and taste. So, even if two contestants prepare the same dish, the judges are looking to see who did the best job with the ingredients and such. And if someone prepares a different dish, it's pretty much the same thing. The judges know what it is and have an idea what it should taste like; so a contestant basically just has to prep it right. Those who hit the mark, usually stick around for a while. Those who try and fail, get sent home.
