Hah, who wants to bet Devin still gives MOS a positive score? He raged on TDK for weeks and IIRC he still gave it an 8/10. :oldrazz:

His credibility was sunk with me when he gave Batman Begins a 6/10 and Spider-Man 3 a 8.5/10.

Based on a couple of cryptic tweets by Devin Faraci, he won't/doesn't like MOS very much (not that it matters of course). It's probably the spoiler. Here are the contents of tweets:

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf 1h When a movie is embargoed and you only hear positive things it isn't always b/c it's good, it's b/c studios won't crack down on positivity.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf 1h
i.e., the negative responses are waiting for the embargo to lift. And there could be many.

Someone asked him if this is what happened to IM3 and he simply replied with: IM3 is a great movie. Implying that MOS is not.

I won't lie. The embargo on MoS a bit strange. I mean, it's a STRONG embargo.

IM3 is a great movie? Did I watch the same movie as this guy. Did he get to watch an uber cut that I didn't. IM3 was only slightly better than IM2 imho. But I guess that is what opinions are for.

Well what hurts Devin is his super intense love for Iron Man 3, haha. I liked Iron Man 3 too but it's a movie that doesn't hit all of it's marks. It was an awkwardly/rustily made film in other words.

Why? I can't think of an event film for a while that hasn't had an embargo. And its not like WB asked everyone after the movie "What did you think?" and they all yelled "It was crap" and WB said "Well, EMBARGO!"

Embargo doesn't mean anything. In fact, the amount of public showings that haven't required signing NDA and the positive reaction coming from them shows confidence in this movie.

WB is likely very confident in the film and want that last batch of hype to be released in the form of reviews just before the movie comes out to push those last hold outs into the seats.

I don't trust Faraci. He liked Spider-Man 3. :o

Trying to translate that countdown.

First 2 letters are " Br "

I have no idea what his problem is I just hope he didn't hear of several bad reviews waiting for the embargo to lift.

He seems to thrive on this inflated idea of him being not just brutally honest...but the only really honest guy in the industry, and he just loves the silly fanboy rage that is directed his way and the cronies that pop up to defend him. Somewhere in there is quite an eloquent and smart writer, but it's masked up by all this egotistical cynical fanboy crap.

That or he just genuinely found a bone to pick with in this film, either way he has a pretty abrasive attitude.

He basically gave TDK and SM3 the score.....

He gave them both 8.5/10. But then he went on to straight up lie about TDK's impact on the movie industry. He wrote an article last year that he was so happy to see a more lighthearted movie like the Avengers succeeding because TDK was causing too many dark superhero movies to be made. Total BS. TDKR is really the only dark superhero movie that has come out recently. Watchmen doesn't count because its source material is extremely dark and the film was greenlit and in production long before TDK was released.

I totally agree with that one.

Don't know how to do that 2nd part with the translator I'm using from SupermanHomepage

Says you and plenty of other people....as I'm sure others will say for this film.

And that's precisely the problem I have about Devin. He has the ability spew utter nonsense and untruths with a high degree of eloquence and sophistication. He's a good writer, that's why he has the job he does. But the guy is a BS artist IMO.

Someone who use to work at Badass said that Faraci has his biases. It wouldn't surprise me if David is Pro-Marvel; Anti-DC.

I don't know if he's anti-DC, but he is "anti-dark comic book movie," which is ridiculous. He thinks every comic book movie needs to be a lighthearted humorfest. I say there is room for BOTH kinds of movies, and apparently audiences around the world agree with me on it.
