All Things Wonder Woman: An Open Discussion - Part 1

I could be here all day explaining how much I adore Eva Green. I'll just say this. I'd love for her to be cast here, hopefully in a large role that spans multiple movies. :yay:

I've suggested Green play Catwoman many times before and I still would be happy if that happened but I am all up for her playing a villain in Wonder Woman as well. I'm not married to the Catwoman idea enough to be disappointed if she is cast as Circe in Wonder Woman.

That was a random post BN.
I have had this dream for over a decade now. :funny: :atp:

As we discussed in the Catwoman thread quite recently, problem with Green is that, despite being a hell of an actress (I was truly impressed by her in "Penny Dreadful"), there is a certain issue with her English, in sense that her native French accent often tends to slip. So, I don't think that playing a British or American would be a best choice for her. This problem disappears if she gets cast in "Wonder Woman" film as an Amazon though. Actually, what would be a problem for Catwoman is a gain if she is to play Circe.

That's a good list Darth.

People don't seem to have much of a problem with Fassbender's dodgy accents KillerWolf.

That is a good point. In fact, I can usually get past that, but I know that accents are more of an issue for some people. And I've been suggesting her for Catwoman as far as I can remember.

Still, given that she already has an inconsistent accent, I find that the role of Circe or an Amazon befits her more in that aspect than one of Catwoman.

Think of this as my clumsy way of saying "if she gets cast in WW instead being Catwoman, look at this casting on the bright side". :woot:

Eva Green's English accent is just her normal accent. She grew up in both France and England, so she has a kind of "inbetweener" accent. It has become more and more English over the years because she spends more time in England filming.

Her American accent was pretty great in Dark Shadows.

I know Keira isn't typically built like Selina, but after her Chanel commercial with the "cat suit", yeah that is the dream. Well, now that Amy is Lois. :funny:

Fassbender and Green act the hell out of things to the point that no one cares. Though I still always laugh during the finale of First Class. His accent bleeds through in a crazy way.

Someties it's good, sometimes it is noticeable that she's French. You watch "Penny Dreadful" if I recall correctly? For example, she had quite an noticeable slip in the fourth episode of the second season, when she argues with Malcolm regarding the notion that Verbis Diablo speaks about her. That is quite recent.

Again, I don't really mind it and would be able to get past accent slips quite easily. I definitely want her in DCEU.

Yes let us both pretend that we won't be a little sad that Green isn't playing Catwoman if she is cast in Wonder Woman.

To me the performance is most important, I actually don't much care about dodgy accents.

Keira was in a catsuit? I must go find that commercial.

I agree for the most part. Though sometimes it is disracting. I am looking at you Braveheart.

Yes this happened, in the greatest commercial in the history of Mankind. Her first two Chanel commercials nearly killed me. :funny:

I <3 Eva Green

I knew Eva (Kitten I called her) back when we both ran a small midget newsletter outside Liverpool. I loved how we two would go out for happy hours at the local pub house and quaff our heaping pints of ale and devour our flank steaks and get so sloshed we could barely stop from falling all over each other, and the next day we'd get up and do it all over again. She was so easy and I prolly knocked her up on three separate occasions anyways. Then I got a job at one of the top investment banks on Wall Street and made more than she could ever dream of and left her cold. I guess that's what motivated her to go into acting, to try to rival my lofty income, but she'll never be an A-lister, the poor dear, and that's what motivates her dark, brooding performances.

Yep I watch the hell out of it. Seen every episode at least 3 times. She isn't slipping. That is her normal accent. She isn't trying to have an "English" accent. She is simply talking as she normally would. Her accent is more English then French now for various reasons. It is also why sometimes she does that really deep, creaky voice thing. It is just how she talks.

You see this with someone like Emma Watson. She has spent a lot of time in America and thus has lost a little bit of the "Englishness" to her accent.

Meh. I lived with her for yeas and cheated on her constantly. The woman was such a bore.
You and your stories of "passion". :funny:

Now I know you were lying. My Eva would never be caught dead in Liverpool. Glory, Glory Man United. 3-1.

I love your crazy posts. It's a guilty pleasure of mine.

Could be. It's not like it has to be received pronunciation only to be called proper English anyway... and she speaks more clear English nowadays than she used to, you're right about that.

I'll have to rewatch both seasons these days by the way.

Black Narcissus is sooo entertaining. Never change sir, never change.

Halloween is right around the corner. The perfect time. :yay:

I remember the first few days after he changed his name, I was confused about why he sounded so similar to Sam Jackson. :funny:
