I hope that Victoria is going to review WW. This was her review of GotG Vol 2.
These are the critics that everyone is dying to hear from.

Wow. Just wow. This just about sums everything up about the standard of modern film criticism.

Well, someone leaked it early, so it was removed, but the Wrap published the first true tracking for Wonder Woman and it's huge.

First # is 105-115.

First tracking for BvS which did 166 million was 120-140 and first tracking for Suicide Squad which did 133, was 125. Man of Steel was tracking to 100 million a week before it opened to 116 (128 with the Walmart sneaks)

So yeah, this is likely to be a big winner for WB.

DC has brand recognition. All WB need to do is make sure they make decent movies and it's guaranteed to make money. Imagine if Marvel had these characters. Honestly believe we would have seen the 1st 2 billion dollar comic book movie.

Both had pi** poor reviews and still got a bump from the first tracking, looks like WW will at least do SS numbers if reviews are good.:woot:

We would have seen Batman saying he needs orange juice while fighting Superman, and the Joker revealed to be a British actor :o

^hehe. He would be nerfed

Glad to hear!!! I know I'll be there opening weekend with my sisters and brother (if he isn't out with friends lol). Here's hoping for a big opening and a good movie :)

So another possible 100 mill opening for the DCEU huh. How does WB do it lol, The December release for Aquaman will probably prevent a 100 mil opening there......I think.

Imagine if MoS and BvS were better films. Imagine Kegin Feige had grown up reading only DC comics. Imagine RDJ never sobered up. Imagine Nolan was a hack director. Imagine Snyder was a true auteur. Imagine Captain America was really a Hydra agent. Imagine a glorified used car salesman slash celbritard became President of the United States.

Imagining is fun!

On topic: tracking seems legit. I was guessing something in the 100m range, but woukdnt be surprised with 125m.

Just think how much it would make it they actually marketed it :o

Iol. If this opens less that 100 mil, all the so called marketing experts will go all out with the whining.

It will be a big winner if reviews are good. If not, it will suffer huge 2nd weekend drop (due to word of mouth), similarly to the last 3 DC films:

MoS - 65% drop.
BvS - 69% drop.
SS - 67% drop.

Either way, tickets have been booked for OW for a week already. If it's good, will most probably go see it again the 2nd weekend :)

A-list characters does not always guarantee big box office. Batman has struggled a few times and The Hulk can't even make up to 300 mill worldwide on his own.

Compared to :

CW - 74.1% drop
TA - 63% drop
AoU - 74.9% drop

See how unflattering numbers can be with no context ? Point is, these movies open with $200 to $400 million. Of course they won't make as much during their second week and for the rest of the theatrical run. Also, why didn't the good reviews and wom help "Batman Begins" for example ? Or "Mad Max : Fury Road" ?

SS had the massive second week drop, but it held on for quite a while afterwards. It had pretty surprising legs overall. (not relevant but still interesting)

If WW is halfway decent it will do just fine. If the budget is around where we all assume it is the movie is going to be quite the money maker.

Batman Begins WOM helped it stay in the top earning movies for like 3 months. It didnt open huge but it had legs for days.

Good news and color me unsurprised. WW has a huge amount of goodwill with the GA and that's showing up here.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 had a 61 % second week drop.
and
X-Men: Apocalypse had a 75% Second week drop

SS had a better multiplier than CW. The movie recovered and stabilized after that second week and had a solid run.

Yeah im starting to think SS level numbers might be a bottom range for WW. I have to assume it will be a better film with better reception from critics and better WoM.

However it lacks the star power and charisma of Will Smith and Margot Robbie's ass. Tracking numbers a good sign though.
