Anyway, Marvel can't be complacent now with that property. I do wonder though if Ike Perlmutter had still be in charge and was against female-led properties what he would've thought if he saw WW doing well and being highly praised. Would he have changed his stance or still thought that female CBMs are not for them?
He's still alive, someone should ask him. :cwink:

I literally came in here just to say how big of a weekend it's going to be for Ike Perlmutter, but I see it's already been brought up :funny:

Maybe not for long if this is his reaction to WW's success:

96% on RT huh? that means WW is even better than Dr Strange. Can you believe that? :o insane

For the overall health of the DCEU going forward, I'm stoked that Wonder Woman seems to be knocking it out of the park, critically. I'm especially insanely happy for the sweet, sweet Gal Gadot as she took an UNNECESSARY beating by both her looks, body type and acting flaws when she was cast (well done, Snyder!) The consensus is that Gal is the embodiment of Wonder Woman as Reeve was Superman. Not a bad comparison for a no-talent, anorexic model! Bring on Wonder Woman! Can't wait for Thursday.

As a big MCU fan, Strange was a good origin story, but nothing too special - it had the classic Marvel formula and reminded of IM.

But yeah, sarcasm noted :)

I really hope they keep hold of Patty to direct future instalments. She clearly gets the character and the setting, and has found a great way to balance all the component parts that go into WW's world.

No doubt. We'll see what the BO entails, but if WB is smart and if the reception of the fans meet the momentum WW has going for it right now, it won't take them long to gear up for Wonder Woman II.

This sums up why I'm glad we got someone like Gal for the part. I far prefer it that we get a sweet actress playing badass than some tough wrestling-type chick with pre-ready muscles like Ronda Rousey or Gina Carano who then has to try to feign some kind of attempt at charm and tenderness. WW needs to be so much more than just a warrior with a permanent tough ***** face.

Even someone like Adrianne Palicki couldn't manage the charm and innocence of WW in her attempt at the character in the David E Kelly pilot. She also had the tough ***** scowl when engaged in any kind of action.

And certainly Jaimie Alexander couldn't have pulled off that charm. She was Campea's top choice, but her face defaults more towards a downward turned mouth when she's in a neutral expression than a more smiley and happy countenance like Gal even when she's neutral.

WB always hold on to their directors. She's not going anywhere. There's a reason Nolan's movies are all produced or distributed by WB and likes of Guy Ritche/Zack still have jobs after all the mixed feedback on their movies.

I think Patty Jenkins will be back. First off, she loves the character and it seems to be the movie that is going to propel her to the big time. And second, it's not like she's had so much film work so far, so sticking with WW has got to be an attractive prospect. But I do hope Jenkins does get more work for other types of movies in the future.

Thinking of going tomorrow at midnight but I have work the next day. Going to be exhausted.

Should I do it?

Why do you ask? Decide for yourself. If you are really hyped for it, then go and see it tomorrow midnight :)

Depends how tired you are and what you have the next day in terms of workload. I wouldn't want to feel so tired that I can't enjoy the movie if it's on too late.

I thought of going to a matinee because it's cheaper, but I don't know if it's too early in the day because it will either be on over lunchtime or after lunch when sleepiness kicks in.

You must be fun at parties.

Ironically, I am!

But really, the poster should make his own mind regarding whether to see it at midnight or not. Hypsters here are biased when eagerly anticipating something, you know ;)

Hey people, when did the release date change and why?

Joking aside, if you mean the review embargo date then it's just simply WB being confident about the movie. With the twitter embargo lifted a while ago, plenty of us saw it coming and the earlier date was basically a placeholder date anyway.

^ who was it that said placeholder date is fan invention lol?

Bro, let's not get down that rabbit hole. I mean we do hafta remember the Skwad BO thread. Some of us were smug about the movie doing much better than what some other posters had it pegged at. Didn't really end well.

And that's how it starts.... the fever .... the rage..... that turns DCEU fans cruel :oldrazz: :oldrazz:

How soon will we hear whether WB are going to green light a sequel?

Would be great if we got an animated series as well.
