isn't it great dc finally have a good reviewed fim again.

it's great the gal gadot haters will have to eat their words:cwink:

hearing gal as wonder woman compared to christopher reeve as superman is great.no better complent for gal.also like hearing some say it seems patty jenkins took more from richard donner than chris Nolan.

How soon will we hear whether WB are going to green light a sequel?

Would be great if we got an animated series as well.

Yeah more wonder woman would be so awesome.

You know, i was one who wasnt on board with Gal Gadot at the beginning...and i gladly eat my words now.
I still think her physic could have been more muscular, but that is nitpicking when i ever seen one.

Everything i saw of Gal Gadot in the recent months, what i saw in trailers, interviews etc is screaming Wonder Woman to me.
She is the perfect choice for Wonder Woman imo and im not ashamed to say that i was wrong to doubt her.

I really hope that Directors etc use WW as a base on how to do Comic book movies and not Nolan(no offense to nolan, but his muddy, realistic take is not one i personally need any longer)

I'm curious how many of the Women Only viewings sold out

tumblr_oqr3gpNSi61rud3xqo1_r1_1280.png

So this was no dream I had late last night. No careless product of wild imagination.

All of them, they said it sold out in the first hour so they had to add more times
How many theaters did this? I didn't see the Women Only viewings here where Walmart's based. We have TWO 12 screen Multiplexes in town near the Walmart Home offices too

I asked before whether Jenkins could be the new standard by which people measure comic book movies against rather than Nolan, and whether at some point, fans will start branding those in favour of the Jenkins approach like Nolanites, but with whatever name they give that group.

I hope WW is a game changer not only for female directors, but also for the future direction of comic book movies.

I do wonder though whether, to get the kind of WW movie we're getting now, we had to get the critical failures of BvS and Suicide Squad. Were they almost a necessary part of the journey on the road towards this kind of WW? If they had been more critically acclaimed, would we have simply gotten more of the same and a much darker and less inspiring WW movie? And could that WW movie have been panned for being too grim and dour and not fun or uplifting at all? Did the failure of BvS and SS signal the shift away from this more gritty take?

Only Alamo theaters and it's in Texas and NYC so far

It was the Alamo Drafthouse that was doing them.

I don't see how, given that Wonder Woman was already well into production when BvS was released.

I like clicking on "top critics" and seeing that 100% score

You know very well that was the case when the studio had to restructure who managed these films - actually create their own specialized division for them. That's not a shock to anyone. It was a matter of when that difference would reverberate. Any who, still waiting until Aquaman to notice anything massively significant.

Credit where credit is due - looks like the WB finally bucked their trend of trotting out messy/depressing CBM's.

Likable characters/actors/actresses work wonders (i.e. Chris Pine and Gal Gadot) don't they? Granted from the reviews it sounds to me like they don't ask Gadot to do more than she's capable of and Pine handles quite a bit - it certainly does sound like she nailed the physicality which helps lend to movies such as these.

You add in the girl power and Hollywood yearning for a quality female hero - I can't imagine too many critics are going to gnash their teeth at this even when I see it's being reported that the 3rd act is flat, the villain is fodder, and the CGI is off in spots.

Again, this can happen when a lead is likable. They lend to hiding flaws. Now if The Flash can just get it's stuff together, I feel like Ezra Miller could have the same effect. If I were the WB I would be doing all I could to feature both he and Gadot more in JL, but let's be honest we all know Joss Whedon is already hard at work increasing WW's role in it. Would be silly not too given the new cache earned by this movie.

So the Jenkins equivalent of Nolanites is.....Jenkies?

Film School Rejects twitter page has posted their Wonder Woman review multiple times and it keeps getting the same responses.

Joking aside, if you mean the review embargo date then it's just simply WB being confident about the movie. With the twitter embargo lifted a while ago, plenty of us saw it coming and the earlier date was basically a placeholder date anyway.

I am seeing commercials that the movie is being released the 31st of May instead of June 2nd. That is what I am asking about.

Travers gave it 2.5/4* but has not posted to RT yet. Will be interested to see whether this translates to fresh or rotten.
