I'm okay with it in team up movies, but for solo movies I'd prefer they tone down the spectacle.

All of the DCEU movies have ended in similar fashion.

Yeah. The finales of TDK, CW, and Logan are all way more memorable because they're more personal as opposed to spectacle (but still with action) IMO.

Like I said, I expect and want the first solo WW movie to have a huge end battle- but wouldn't mind it being smaller scale and more personal for the sequel.

I've accepted crap CG battles are industry standard now. I merely pray they're not taken to the levels of crapness MOS and BVS took them too with the weird colour contrasts, sloppy backgrounds and dreary filters.

What poster was being talked about?
It no longer shows. Although if that is because of spoiler content, I'll be glad to see it after Fri. I've decided to go opening night! A rare thing for me...

Off to see it now. Review when I return.

If only we could see these two meet on screen and duke it out with each other....

For all the DCEU's flaws I still think it has the best displays of the physical power and speed of super powered superheros and villains. You compare Faora and Wonder Woman and Superman's fights and the speed and snap reflexes with which they move and compare it to equally powerful characters in the MCU (Asgardians and Vision) and those just pale in comparison.

I've heard some people say the WW climax is similar to the Doomsday fight (overly video gamey, hard to follow) but certainly not as bad overall.

I can forgive it if the rest of the films high quality, but I hope it's not quite that bad because the Doomsday fight was rotten

Ive actually grown somewhat fond of the Doomsday fight. CGI in general doesnt bother me nearly as much as it used to. The fight is not another vortex in the sky. It isnt a giant army of faceless enemies. Its not a world ending threat. It was kept in an unpopulated area once Batman got involved. And it introduced Wonder Woman in a great way. Yeah Doomsday is just a throwaway thug but he made for a decent powerful thug for the heroes to beat. The only part of the fight I really dont like is the Lois stuff with the spear. Her tossing that spear (the only known weapon that can kill Superman) into a water hole where any random joe or jane could find it was all sorts of dumb. Then having to cut away from the fight so we could watch her try and fail to recover it was even worse. Then after superman has recovered it she just tosses it away without any regard for the kryptonite possibly breaking and rendering the spear ineffective. I mean, damn, Louis, do you toss all powerful weapons around with such cavalier nonchalance? :p That stuff just makes her come across like a dolt. Im hoping the WW climax wont have Chris Pine's character doing something foolish that takes away from the fight.

Been in lurk mode. Loving the comments. Seeing WW for first time Thursday night. So psyched!

Wanted to ask if someone could repost that pic of the adorable little girl staring up at WW in the JL poster. Pretty please with WW's fav ice cream flavor on top?

Taking this to the BvS thread.

Good movie, cohesive movie at least. And yeah the final battle is a bit overdone and the CG looks terrible, but that's about the worst I can say about the movie.

Chris Pine is really good, but IMHO, he would've been way better suited for modern Hal Jordan. He just doesn't sound like a man from the 1920s.

It's similar, but it avoids the cliches with its emotional heft.

The CGI didn't bother me at all, although I'm not nitpicky about that stuff. The final battle is a CGI fest, but it had way more meaning than the BvS and MoS final battles.

just watched it and I'm in love with this movie.

So emotional. I understand why people were crying. Patty definitely gets characters right.

Seeing again Friday evening.

Got a free poster too. The one where she's lifting a tank :)

Uh... I kind of disagree some a little bit. First it's Lois not Louis. Second, what would you have had her do with the spear? I'm asking honestly not trying to be a smart a--. She didn't have a lot of options, she probably still didn't trust Bruce and Clark couldn't be near it.
The nearly drowning thing was lame but it did 2 things: 1. It kind of brought in Superman is in tune with Lois' body so he knows if she's in trouble 2. At least someone in the Trinity remembered to get their hands on that weapon! Good gracious, they all know they need that "weapon that can kill it" but not one of them thinks to look for it.

Really wanna see it on the day it opens but I probably will see it during the week.
