Just got out of seeing it again. Better the second time around. Went with a friend who does not care for CBM's and she loved it.

I keep forgetting to ask this and have been for years, but what is WW's day job? Clark is a reporter, Bruce is Bruce Wayne, what does she do for money and what not?

The promotional material for DoJ said that she was an antiquities dealer, which seems to align with her position at the Louvre in her solo film.

I choose to believe that it's a front for allowing her to track down and safely secure various magical and mythological items / artefacts which could be used for wrong doing if they fell into the wrong hands.

See, this would be a good set up for a sequel in present day with Felix Faust as one of the villains. Knowing that she works in the Louvre, he could coerce her into stealing various artefacts as a ransom for the Amazons, whom he has turned to stone, a la the Paradise Lost episode from Justice League.

Then there could be a whole set piece in the Louvre with her having to retrieve artefacts leading to a chase.

Or someone else could be trying to steal the same artefact, and she would have to fight them. Maybe someone like Cheetah?

The whole sequel could easily be an Indiana Jones type adventure with her having to track down other artefacts around the world and fighting off other villains who are after the same thing.

So whats the deal with the sword in BvS? It looks like the same one.

No, different sword. Explained in movie. Though I didn't know the newer one was named the Sword of Athena. Cool. Wonder how she got that one..?

With her knowledge of language, I'd imagine she'd honor Steve and work as a spy herself to 1. retrieve more intel on conflicts, and 2. become more familiarized with man's world's different culture outside of London. This will have her continually working with Etta and Steve's band of merry men as well, so there's a familiarity for her there.

I'd say in BvS she definitely was a spy, but more for her own ends than any Governments.

You know, I just realized how disappointed I am that it'll take so long to get more of the Trinity after JL. After Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman, we've got a bunch of new characters–Shazam, Nightwing, Batgirl, the Sirens (Harley's been established, but not the others), Justice League Dark, and Black Adam–assuming all these movies actually end up happening. But that means we'll have to wait how long to see Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman again? Hopefully they make cameos in these other characters' movies. Because I was already a Bat/Supes fan, and this movie has definitely made me want to see WW as much as possible in the DCEU.

I don't think WB are going to want to wait until they get all these out of the way before doing WW again. They don't even know if the likes of Cyborg or Shazam etc are even going to be successful.

Why would they just gamble on some of these when WW would be more of surefire bet? Plus they'd know audiences would be hungry for more WW.

How many people are really wanting to see a Cyborg movie? They should just forget about that one.

That was my thought, too. I have a feeling the initial movie outline they gave us a couple years ago will change dramatically after this one.

I personally am excited for Cyborg. I think it'll be cool (it helps that Nightwing and Flash are rumored to be in it, but I'd be excited regardless).

Right now, though, my biggest bummer is that Aquaman is the only DCEU movie planned for 2018. I'm so used to having 2 a year that I guess I've been spoiled.:oldrazz:

Wonder Woman strangely felt nostalgic. Almost like I'm back to the days of watching Richard Donner's Superman on VHS when I was 5. Plot was nice and straightforward, but with a very clear message like that film. I also take back all of the doubts I had about Gadot, she was made for this role.

I saw the movie earlier today. I really enjoyed it. I thought Gal brought a sense of innocence to the WW character. Everything about her portrayal of the character was delightful and uplifting.

Well, it also felt like watching Raimi's Spider-Man, or some of Phase 1 of the MCU before there were tons of crossovers between each film. It was refreshing.

True, I just mention Donner's Supes because I remember rewatching that one a bunch in my youth.

They need a Trinity movie with just those 3.

A cool way to incorporate Batman into a sequel would be to adapt Greg Ruck's Hikiteia story. I'd love something like that.

I honestly found that story to be a little underwhelming. And it was funny how Bats thought he could physically take on Diana.

Yeah, I liked the story, but that aspect definitely took me out of it. I was like, "this guy's supposed to be smart" lol.

I would genuinely prefer a Trinity movie over more JL stuff.

I liked it. Bats tried the same thing with Supes many times so it wasn't out of character.

For some reason I can buy it much easier with Supes than with Diana. Maybe because she's got the age, experience and elite combat training to go along with all that power.

That sounds cool - I like it!

If Cyborg is a scene stealer in JL, WB will probably move forward (they may push his solo to late 2020 or early 2021 depending on how the other DC projects fare in development). They may also wait to see how Black Panther fares, even though both heroes don't have much in common (apart from being black).

I'm not wild about Shazam or having Dwayne Johnson star in a DC film. I like the guy and he's charismatic, but I have no interest in seeing him as Black Adam. I'd rather see Green Lantern or The Flash be the next DC solo films after The Batman.

And I'm 95% positive that by Monday, WB will announce the release date for Wonder Woman 2 (likely June 2019), and exercise Gal and Patty's sequel options.

I buy it if it's done as some sort of distraction but he has to be aware that he can't physically take on the princess. Lol.

Finally seen WW this afternoon.. Liked it ,didn't love though.. The Amazonian scenes were amazing & my favorite.. 2nd act was ok loved the humor and her big battle, but everything else seemed to drag and I felt bored.. I enjoyed the final act, understand why some might have problems w/ it but I was cool with it... 7.5/10 for me i dont think its the best DCEU movie...

Why does WW have such revealing outfit? This makes it really hard for me to suspend disbelief. If they gave her some cool, warrior-like outfit/armor (like Lady Sif in MCU's Thor), WW could be really badass character, even though my opinion is that Gal Gadot wasn't a good casting choice... But super-short miniskirt, small chestplate, come on... It really takes me out of the story, it's like they are shoving in our faces: "look guys, hot girl, you are going to love this, go see it in a theater!!!"
She has armor on her calfs... cool, but how does it make sense to nut put it also on her thighs ... are her tighs bulletproof, but calfs are not? seriously, wtf. Do women cheering for wonder woman realise how much it undermines the message of strong independent woman... that needs to be almost naked in order to pander to male audiences.

I agree, to an extent.

Firstly, Diana was not filmed through the male gaze at any time during her solo movie. I think it's wonderful that there were no lingering, leering and inappropriate "looks" at Diana. Her beauty was obviously showcased, but I thought it was handled really well. There were no upskirt shots. There were no pandering scenes of her bare thighs, shoulders, etc. And I don't think her cleavage was ever showcased / highlighted.

Certainly, we didn't get an equivalent of the Steve Trevor baths scene, but with Diana.

Secondly, the costume is somewhat comic book accurate. It is also somewhat accurate to the time period in terms of the Amazon's development of armour based on Ancient Greek / Roman armour. For the Amazons, their armour was mostly true to the period of their formation.

Thirdly, the costumes had the input of Patty Jenkins, a woman who could have conceivably pushed for the costumes worn by Diana to be different. Maybe the Wonder Woman armour couldn't have been too different (given its appearance in DoJ), but Jenkins could have kept her out of that outfit for a very long time (i.e. until the final battle).

Finally, given that it was kept in the same armoury as the lasso of truth, I presume that the armour has some kind of magical abilities or something that makes it special. Perhaps it was crafted and worn by Athena? Maybe it is virtually indestructible? Maybe it enhances strength, durability or invulnerability?

I too wish the costume was more practical. I wish it covered her entire torso, like Hippolyta's armour, that the skirt was longer and that the boots didn't have ridiculous high wedge heels. I'd also be open to a variant which included pants. But, it is what it is. And I think it could have been a lot worse - just look at the costume for the failed TV pilot.

I also wish that they'd kept Aquaman shirtless so at least the bare flesh was somewhat equally divided between at least one male member of the Justice League and the sole female member. I do find it ridiculous that the promotional material for JL features five men covered from neck to toe and one female in a strapless mini dress and thigh high boots. I'm really surprised that no-one at WB sees how foolish that looks.

I to this day will not understand why cast WW in BVS if they weren't going to mold that conflict into a Trinity one. (Maybe WW as the arbitrator). It was technically a Trinity movie, marketed as a Trinity movie, and at the same time not at all :csad:

That's because they wanted the Batman V Superman face-off kind of movie, and adding Wonder Woman in a prominent role would have ruined it. WW would've beaten both men up until they're reasonable and not acting like a child in the movie.
