All Things Wonder Woman: An Open Discussion - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 25

It's just a Barbie thing. I imagine WW will obviously be the centerpiece of the JL Barbie line and also the hottest commodity for the people/girls who buy and want these things. She is, after all the only "Barbie" on a team full of "Kens", if you catch my drift. Mera is a supporting character.
The barbies and kens for bvs all had the same synopsis. I don't think it is just a 'Barbie thing'. The collector Barbie for WW even said she was the daughter of Zeus and that was dismissed then too. They've already said that WW will have a substantial part and I didn't read anything in that new synopsis that was different from what Geoff and Jon berg have said. I'm sick of Batman being the focus of the marketing anyway , so I see no problem.

Is there any way that the furore over the Alamo Drafthouse was not real but just created by willing male participants to ignite a supposed controversy to get Wonder Woman into the news headlines even more and get more women to see the film?

Is there a longer version of the No Man's Land scene? Or is it an alternate take?

I thought that Patty Jenkins said there wasn't really any deleted scenes.

It might be the version that was originally shot (the lead-up to No Man's Land, not the scene itself).

According to the Hollywood Reporter piece below, the one thing in the finished film that wasn't in the script originally was a change to the lead-up to No Man's Land.

Apparently...
The scene with the horses being beaten was the main thing that was added.

It's coming out so soon?! Hella yes!! I'll be buying that first day out!

I wonder if it'll still be in some theaters when it comes out..?

If the digital download comes out in August, then won't people want to watch that instead of watching in theatres? This seems a bit of an early release if they're planning a Labor Day expansion.

I wonder if it'll still be in some theaters when it comes out..?

Almost certainly, but that's not unusual in itself. For example, Guardians 2 is still in a few theaters.

It feels early for WW because it has held so well at the box office, and sometimes the big early summer movies expand on Labor Day.

Delaying the DVD release until later in the Fall for those reasons might not have made sense, though. Justice League is coming out in mid-November.

They could've delayed it until October.

They could've delayed it until October.

I guess, theoretically. But the final JL trailer will probably be about a month before release, so mid-October. Along with a marketing push around that time.

With that in mind, I am just guessing that keeping the September release for the Wonder Woman DVD might have seemed like the better choice from their point of view.

I thought that Patty Jenkins said there wasn't really any deleted scenes.

From the description, those seem less like deleted scenes and more of extended scenes. So each one 15-30 second long, I would bet. Or they're different takes, such as the walk to No Man's Land.

Makes sense, though. Jenkins did say that they put on screen essentially everything they filmed.

I like the above and also the blu-ray cover. My favourite WW image though (and there a loads of good ones) is the action shot with one shining gauntlet raised head height in defence.

Are you talking about the one that shows her deflecting bullets in No Man's Land?

Yeah, looks like a stylized still from that scene and was also one of the posters. Oh, it's also the image on the RT page. For some reason I can't post pics.

In case anyone is interested, below is the Collider interview where Jenkins talks about this.

The relevant quote:

"You know, it’s not like a long journey didn’t happen but what amazes me is how little has actually changed from the first cut other than tightening… little changes to the final battle, that was really it. I think that what I ended up finding about the final battle was I was hitting emotional points for Diana that I really wanted to hit but I felt a craving for some other kinds of emotional gratification and engagement that we tried to accentuate even more. I think what you learn is rhythm, tone, humor where the jokes are happening but in our case, I just now can finally say all this. We didn’t cut one scene in this movie nor did we change the order of one scene in this movie from the script that we went in shooting with."

And:

"Not one, not one. We replaced the walk to No Man’s Land with a different walk to No Man’s Land. And we’ve got the DVD now, they keep wanting to put cut scenes and there aren’t any."

So I think we can infer that the "Walk to No Man's Land" is the version they originally shot, and the other clips are short bits of extended scenes that were trimmed during the "tightening" she refers to.

I think that one encapsulates the spirit of the movie the most out of all the posters, even though the other ones are good.

Fresh from breaking records, 'Wonder Woman' takes home Teen Choice Awards

Months after reigning supreme at the box office, Wonder Woman won't stop winning.

The film scored a bunch of accolades in the action genre at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday.

Wonder Woman beat strong contenders Logan and billion-dollar flick, The Fate of the Furious, in winning Choice Action Movie. It was also nominated for Choice Summer Movie, but fell short to Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Wonder Woman's stars did rather well too: Gal Gadot won Choice Action Movie Actress for her role as the film's lead, while Chris Pine scored the actor award in the action category.

Both also fell short in the Choice Summer Actress and Actor awards, which was won by Zendaya and Tom Holland respectively.

Of course, these awards aren't Wonder Woman's first. The film won top honors for its marketing back in June at the Golden Trailer Awards.

But it could be the start of a very fruitful campaign come awards season, with Warner Bros. reportedly working on getting it nominated for Best Picture and Best Director — something which a superhero film has never done.

And here is a complete list of all the winners:

Don't know why it would lose Choice Summer Movie to Homecoming. WW has been the movie of the summer.

Maybe they did lose, but TCA are not decided by voters. It says in the fine print that TCA are ultimately the ones who decide winners. And I can see them wanted to give awards to kids like Holland and Zendaya.

It's TCA, and popular Teens this month are Tom Holland and Zendaya, it would be disastrous for them to ignore that, I mean the whole awards would lose relevance.

well TCA's are fixed.as tv section proves.they wanted to split awards between wonder
woman and spider-man homecoming.
