I looked her up. She seems to have been a former gymnast. Is she merely a stunt woman for the movie or is she playing an Amazon?

isn't this a way for Steve Trevor to be in modern times by having him on the island with Diana so he doesn't age

It looks like Natalie Padilla is Chloe Bennet and Ming Na's stunt double in Agents of SHIELD. And she seems to be doing stunts for Justice League as well.

I could be wrong but I'm betting all those tattos are from the tribal group that Arthur's father belong, and I think his father is the polynesian one, where most of the Atlanteans are Celtic type.

Not sure. and it's not the first stunt double from Marvel TV that works for DC, as WW's stunt double was Mockingbird stunt double.

Also, from all these set pics, I feel I could easily watch a movie set entirely in Themyscira about the Amazons with Diana never suiting up as Wonder Woman but just enjoying life, training and learning various life lessons.

Does anyone else feel almost as if it's the entire women's Olympic team pictured in all these photos? Athletes of all different sporting activities. But where are all the swimmers?

They would've done well to actually get a women's swim team for some of the Amazons since they would've had a good physique.

Oh, I'm into the sport. I haven't posted in the fitness thread for a while, but I used to talk about it a lot there.

That's why I remarked that Natalie Padilla looked similar to Stephanie Rice (the Olympic swimmer).

Well swimmers have rather broad shoulders and often rather developed backs and lats. And their legs are very toned. Swimmers' bodies (for both sexes) are often considered the ideal physique that everyone wants.

This is Stephanie Rice, who does look a bit similar to Natalie Padilla. Both have similar noses too. They could've gotten her for an Amazon.

I think she was messing around. It's the Ellen show after all.. Or maybe a bad day or maybe she wasn't so expert back then...

One thing for sure is 2 superhero franchises wouldn't hire her as a stunt double if she didn't know basic movements by now.

No she was an expert before that as she's trained as a gymnast from an early age. So I think it was a joke segment, and Ellen would've known her already as she has been her stunt double for some stunts Ellen was supposedly doing on the show. So she couldn't really have been picked out at random from the audience as they led people to believe.

I think Wonder Woman flies (different than Superman) or will at some point or maybe they are trying tu put her "jump"... IDK.

Yeah, I know the basics, developed back and lats, wide shoulders and all... hell, I even dated a swimmer few years ago, but I still don't think I could tell a swimmer apart from another athlete of similar build. Point being, you said that none of these women look like swimmers, but even after 8 or so months of being in a relationship with one, you could have fooled me.

the fun bit about the Artemis section is Artemis turned a guy into stag and he got eaten by his own dogs.

I didn't say none of the women looked like swimmers. I said where are all the swimmers, which I meant in the sense of where are all the women in their swimming costumes.

But admittedly some of them look too muscular to be swimmers and more like track and field athletes. Others could look like, and even Gal could look like one now... which is why she should appear in a swimsuit to prove that.
