So can't anyone explain the deal with Sony and Marvel over Spidey? Is it Marvel have the character on loan for so long? Is it a permanent thing?

Marvel is running the show, but Sony keeps the distribution rights to the solo films. But it's Feige and Marvel Studios production staff that are writing producing the films. Amy Pascal is co-producing, and will be the only representative of Sony on the solo films, she has no involvement in the MCU films Spider-man appears in.

Ah that's good news then.

Thank for clearing that up for me

The way I understand it is that Sony and Marvel agreed to partner together to bring Spider-Man into the MCU. Sony would ultimately have final say and full creative control, but I firmly believe that Sony trusts Feige and will most likely go along with what Marvel Studios suggests about how to use the character on the screen. Sony may be producing the 2017 solo film but I think that Marvel is the one that will be leading the charge in the development of the film. As for the financial aspect of it, Sony gets no money off of Spider-Man's appearances in Disney distributed MCU movies and Disney gets no money off of MCU characters appearing in Sony distributed Spider-Man movies, even though they are going to be set in the MCU. The main thing that bring Spider-Man into the the fold with the Avengers is that should spark excitement with the fanbase, as in the previous 5 movies Spider-Man was the only superhero in the world. It'll help Sony because it'll have the Marvel Studios stamp on it's movie and Marvel will have access to it's #1 character. It's a win-win.

Moving eyes makes no sense whatsoever, eyes muscles to make your face...I dunno...more expressive'

That probably has a great deal to do with it. Spidey constantly taking off his mask, even in risky scenarios, was a flaw of both the Raimi and Webb movies. Now that won't be an issue...at least I hope not.

He looks superb

But all I can think about is if this is what spidey looks like under marvels watch, dear god bring on his villains
Good point. Look-wise, the only Spidey villain I have liked on film so far is Sandman. Doc Ock was aight too.

Absolutely hate the moving eyes. It just doesn't make sense at all and makes him appear cartoonish in a world that isn't cartoonish.

Seeing Spider-man instantly made me look forward to his solo film.

Do you think the post credits scene will be Spider-Man related? It's probably going to be linked to Dr. Strange, since that's the other MCU movie in 2016 but I gotta believe that some seeds for Spidey's solo film in 2017 will be shown in Civil War.

I'm not seeing how Mechanical moving eyes is so much more cartoonish than a shrinking man who rides ants, an A.I. with a magic stone in his head, or Prince running around dressed like a big cat.

Come on man, we're all trying to have a good time here, don't be talking about what Charles and Camilla do behind closed doors.

People complain about the dumbest things

First thing I thought of

The eyes, The simpleness of the material in that it looks one-tone and cosplay and not with detail and sheen and The needless additions of the black bands.

I'd rank this as the second worst above the ASM1 costume. The Raimi costumes had sheen and small details to give the costume vibrancy and basically managed the spandex look without it looking like one piece of one coloured fabric. It had the little hexagonal detailing to give it depth. It's had the raised webbing rather than printed for the same reason but this ignores all of that and this it looks too simple and plain.

It's cool they've emoted the eyes though it's just a shame the black is so thick as a result and I love the tick on the back, not the tiny one on the front. It's not terrible it's just a huge step down in terms of quality we've had so far

Lol.

Personally I'm not overly happy with the suit. But I have the utmost confidence in Holland as an actor to be a great Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Loving it. Expectations met...and exceeded.

In all honesty, with all complaints aside. We should be kneeling at Marvels feet for even putting Spidey in Civil War.

My brain is still trying to process Spider Man in the MCU. I'm so use to him not being connected and in his own world that it doesn't feel quite right yet.

My only real complaint is the black stripes/bars on Spider-Man's costume. Why do you need that? There is no need for that. Less is more.

Must be a Marvel Studios policy. When in doubt, add more stripes and patches and weird textures. Wouldn't want their costumes to look too iconic and easily recognizable.

J/k. Sort of. Still not as bad as Fox's X-Men costumes. J/k again. Sort of.

The suit is amazing. It looks classic yet updated. Like Snyder's Superman.

Question is, Is this suit only exclusive to Captain America Civil War or will Spider-Man be wearing a completely different suit by the time new movie comes out?
