WHO IS THIS THWIIPP GUY THAT YOU SPEAK OF?---thwiiipp!!
I always thought that stuff was typed automatically, but to think a poster is actually spending their time to add all that extra stuff just seems like a waste of time, but I know some professors that I email who do the same, so I guess its almost the same here in that its their signature of approval so that everyone knows that it was them who posted.
The funny thing is I don't even like doing it in e-mails, especially when I've been sending e-mails back and forth with someone, but since it's considered "professional", I feel forced to.Well in an email, it's often just professional courtesy, on here it's just crazy. Imagine if people signed their name to every IM that they sent.
I had a girlfriend who did that.Well in an email, it's often just professional courtesy, on here it's just crazy. Imagine if people signed their name to every IM that they sent.
In emails, it is professional to sign it. It's just like if you write a letter, you have that Sincerely, ________________ BS. It's just what you do.
TiVo'd.The problem is with the way it "sounds" for the person reading through the thread. Forums are generally written as one big conversation between posters. Imagine having a conversation in real life like that.
"Hey Steve, so did you see the latest green lantern footage?"
"Yeah, I thought it looked pretty cool. ....-Steve."
"Yeah... I know what your name is. Looks like they're going pretty cosmic with it."
"It definitely looks pretty epic. ....-Steve."
"......"
