am I the only one who thought SM3 was MUCH better 2nd time around?

yeah. first time seeing it in the NYC premiere, me and my friend were pissed. when we saw it the 2nd time on IMAX opening night. it was so much better.

AHHHHH! THE KIDS THAT SAY ,"WICKED COOL!!" at the end... what was Sam thinking. that was horrible, i think its gonna take more then 2 times to get over that. God I hated them. it ruined the moment for like 2 seconds.

the first time i didnt like it that much but after seeing it the second time i find myself defending the sm3 bashing going on. Its better once you know everything that happens going into it.

I saw the movie twice and you need to see it twice

rating first time ?

6/10?

2nd?

8/10

overall?
8/10

and read the book

The first time was eh. The second and 3rd time were the best. And I still gotta buy the book =\

You and me both bro. I'm NEVER gonna get used to that part! And btw, they were Raimi's kids which is why the scene was kept.

So right! The 2'nd time around it was TEN times better!!! I really didn't quite know how to feel about the movie when I had just seen it the 1'st time... Oh, and after the 3'rd viewing I fell in love with it!!! It's definitly the best of the three movies!

What book are you guys talking about? The Spider-Man chronicles book?

I liked it better. It was just so disappointing the first time because it did not live up to the first two movies and is uneven.

Watching it again, I still see its flaws and it is uneven, but it ultimately works as a whole and is still a good entertaining movie and the best summer blockbuster since Batman Begins (if you don't count King Kong as one, since that came out in December). And though not as good it was still good and I looked past it not living up to 2 and saw it as a good, but deeply flawed movie.

It works, but it is still the weakest of the three.

But a good movie that completes the trilogy well, despite its flaws.

If that ruins a movie for you, you need to grow the Hell up. That's how kids behave. Noone ever accuased kids of not being cheesy.

I had mixed feelings after i saw it the first time. But I saw it again today and wow! I really loved it and I'm gonna go see it again this weekend!

Well I usually prefer movies the second time around anyway so I am hoping this is true with 3, although I am notsure how I could enjoy more :woot:

I walked out of Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 saying to my movie buddy:

"Man, that suct." or "Man, that was pretty gay."

Now I love both of those movies.

I thought there were some pretty lame moments in Spider-Man 3, but the pros totally crush the cons. I know that I am going to enjoy the movie much better after I watch it again.

I saw Spidey 2 4 times, and by reading all this posts, I'm gonna see it again soon. I was going to nevertheless, but somehow I can't help but thinking this looks like a thread started by Sony executives, under fan names hehe

I liked it the first time, but I really want to appreciate better the action scenes. It all happened too fast.

D!

That all very good and all, but it really shouldnt take 2 viewings of a film for you to like it.

Well, I liked Spider-Man the most, and the first time I saw Spider-Man 3, I though it was a good movie (besides the fact that I didn't enjoy his tango scene at that jazz club and because I would have changed many things during Venom's appearance in the film), but after the second time I really liked it...and after a second time I saw Spider-Man 2, I left the theatre empty.

I watched it a second time and still cringed at certain points. Didn't sway my opinion much, however, the first act did seem a bit more organized.
i agree! i was like WTF? the whole first time i saw it....the second time i just accepted it for what it was and i still hated like the whole second half of the movie....but anyways lol yea its not the worst superhero movie ever but its still tremedously flawed.....good thread

I definitely enjoyed myself much more the second time around. I wouldn't say that it was better per se, the movie still had the same problems that it did the first time. One of the problems I had with the movie is the lack of breathing room (due to the numerous stories going on,) but since I knew what I was getting myself into, everything felt more coherent the second go-around.

Also, the first time I saw it I liked the humor, but I thought it was too much of it, especially since I wasn't expecting so much. The second time though, I had a good time with it. I really loved the strutting-chocolate girl-flirting with Betty Brant-acting cocky in front of JJJ scene, even more than I already did.

Though, I will say, that some things actually annoyed me even more. That reporter during the final battle really pissed me off the second time around.

oh and on the second view, the crying wasnt that bad.....

I didn't quite know how to feel about it the first time I saw it, after the second time, I'm now positive I like it the most out of all 3 and I can't wait to see it again.

I just saw it for the second time and loved it. I think one of the big problems was the stupid crowd I was watching it with at the 11:59 showing at Lloyd Center Cinemas. We had a few hecklers and one main loudmouthed, fat, nappy headed heckler who wouldn't shut up and kept yelling through the entire movie. At one point everyone in the crowd told him to "shut the f up!" and he wouldn't. And if that heckler is a member of this board, I got this to say to you-

"You fat, A-hole numbnuts, gray shirt with white stripe wearing nappy headed ho! (He actually did have nappy hair) I should have grabbed you and escorted you out of the place. You also owe me $10.00 ya rat bastard."

So the audience reaction was way different and I looked at the scenes differently. Even EMO Peter didn't bother me that much, or the audience. I still have a few minor issues, but Raimi did the job again. Damn hecklers.

I haven't seen it a second time, but I plan to. I hope that I enjoy it more this time around, because, like I've said many times already, the audience ruined it for me. :(
